Nash Reynolds is the man of many dreams. Just not mine.
He checks off plenty of boxes. Wealthy, brilliant, hot, and with a southern drawl that makes my toes curl.
Oops. Not my toes.
I don’t need a man. I most definitely don’t need Nash Reynolds. He might’ve come along at a time when I could use a distraction, but the answer is still no.
My ex taught me plenty of lessons. The most important one: never count on any man to treat me right.
I’m smart woman, and I learn from my mistakes, so I’m not about to fall for Nash. Not his Southern charm, not his way-too-hot for my eyes good, not his touch … Just no.
Okay, maybe he does make my toes curl and make me wonder about things a girl shouldn’t be wondering about. Maybe he helps me out at a time when I really need it. Maybe, just maybe, he shows me he might be worth it.

"You like her? I like her too, but you're gonna need to clarify a little more than that"
"It's safe to say we definitely don't like her the same way"
I enjoyed this one. Mari has gone on vacation with a boyfriend Brett who has been distant for the last few months thinking he is trying to show her he cares for her still. Instead she wakes up alone in the room and finds he has left with everything of his and his phone is disconnected. She seeks out the one lead she has to find him, which was a business man he met with that same morning.
Nash knows a bad investment where he hears one and kicks Brett out of his office after barging in without an appointment. Later a woman shows up asking if he knows where Brett is. Nash is a person who can read people easily but is finding that Mari is the hardest person to read. He finds her intriguing and when he bumps into her again he wants to help her out. He did a little digging into Brett and found out the Brett had managed to max out all of Mari's credit and cancelled her lease on her new apartment so she had nowhere to call home.
This is just the start to an interesting romance, but can it turn into a relationship or is it just a fling?
This is part of the Boudreaux Universe Novel Series. This was a great contemporary romance that was so much fun to read. Nash and Mari meet when she is abandoned by her boyfriend while on vacation in New Orleans. Not only did he leave her but cleaned out her bank accounts and cancelled her apartment. She was homeless, broke and had no clue where he was. Determined to put the puzzle pieces together, Marie visits Nash who was the last known person to see her boyfriend. Nash realized that Brett was a scam artist and threw him out of his office. He is taken by Mari and offers to help here. This is where the real story begins. Their chemistry is explosive and they are cute together. She's stubborn and difficult at times. He's rich, charming and sex on wheels. JH Croix is a master at weaving an amazing story and this is one of the best so far. I loved it. I read it as an arc via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to review. Five stars for sure.
Mari wakes up to find her boyfriend, now ex has disappeared without a trace and left her without a penny to her name. Mari goes to see Nash, Brett's last contact in New Orleans before disappearing, but she does not expect the southern gentleman that she encounters. Nash knew Brett was bad right from the moment he talked to him and now that he knows he has wronged his friends' sister he is determined to make him pay as well as show Mari just how romantic New Orleans can be and how a real gentleman treats a lady.
Easy This Time is a stand-alone southern contemporary romance. J.H. Croix does a great job of transporting you to New Orleans and showing off its true southern charm. Right from the beginning of the book, you feel for Mari and her horrible situation that her, now, ex-boyfriend puts her through and can not help but fall in love for the swoon-worthy southern gentleman that is Nash Reynolds. I now want to take a trip to New Orleans after reading this book.

After waking up in a bed and breakfast in New Orleans, Mari Channing realizes her boyfriend, Brett, is gone. Mari sees his clothes, toiletries, and suitcase are missing. Mari calls Brett's cellphone and gets the message that it is no longer in service. Mari learns Brett didn't pay for their room and wonders how she is going to pay when she has no money. Mari tries to hunt down Brett at his meeting with Nash Reynolds, a workaholic wealthy real estate mogul. When Mari shows up to Nash's office, Nash informs Mari that he kicked Brett out and doesn't know where he is. Nash is smitten with Mari and wants to help her since he knows and has worked with her brother, Max. Mari turns Nash down and decides to head home but at the airport, Mari learns that Brett has cashed in her return ticket for a refund leaving her with no way to get home. Mari and Nash bump into each other at the airport, and Nash offers her a place to stay while she decides what to do. Nash coordinates with Max in finding out what Brett has done or mixed up in. Nash tells Mari that Brett has maxed out her credit cards, taken loans and cards out in her name, and canceled her new lease and stolen the deposit to her new place in California. Will Mari and Nash give into their attraction to each other? Will Nash be able to protect Mari when they learn Brett is involved with shady people in New Orleans? Will Mari and Nash confess their feelings for each other? Will Mari find her happily ever after with Nash in New Orleans? I loved Easy This Time by J.H. Croix. Easy This Time is a great romance with amazing characters and a fantastic story line that will grab the reader from the very beginning. J.H. Croix is a must read author for this reader. I would highly recommend getting Easy This Time by J.H. Croix. I received an ARC of this book via Bad Boy Update, and I am leaving my honest review.
Can Nash Convince Mari to Give Real Love a Try ♥🔥♥🔥♥
Think about a romantic weekend at a nice bed and breakfast in New Orleans to reconnect with your boyfriend. Mmmmmmm. Only to wake up and said boyfriend is gone, phone is shut off ohhhh and he didn't pay the bill. Mari Channing could call her wealthy brother, Max (Melt With You, Into The Fire Series), but Mari is very independent and she'll figure this out. Nash Reynolds is a real estate mogul that has no social or love life thanks to all the hours he works. With an unexpected visit from Mari looking for her scammer boyfriend...ex boyfriend...Nash is completely intrigued by Mari and offers to find Brett for her after she explains the situation. Nash knows Max from hiring him for his top security systems. Finding out that Brett maxed out her credit cards, cancelled her apartment lease and opened new cards in her name infuriates Nash. Devastated Mari is at a loss as what to do or where to go until Nash peered her an apartment in his building until she can figure things out. Nash checks all the boxes on what a perfect man can be, but she's already learned her lesson in love...Or so she thinks. With the threat of Brett and the unknown , Nash will protect Mari but can he prove to her that not all guys are like her ex??? Definite movie material when it comes to J. H. Croix!!! The characters blend together so well they make an almost perfect couple, they have to have a couple bumps in the road to get to perfect. I most definitely recommend this book and any by J. H. Croix, an automatic one click author. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward to see what comes next.
Mari thinks she’s having a weekend away with her boyfriend, Brett, to help fix their failing relationship. When she wakes one morning to find no trace of Brett she soon discovers something’s a miss. The only information she finds is a meeting with a local real estate agent. She follows up the lead where she meets Nash who informs her of his displeasure of meeting Brett. Things go from bad to worse when Mari attempts to fly home only to discover her ticket refunded and her credit cards maxed out. Nash offers her a place to stay until she can sort things out and works closely with her brother Max to bring Brett to justice. Brett makes contact after Mari freezes her credit and stops Brett from taking out anymore loans in her name. During the whole ordeal, Nash was keeping close watch on Mari to keep her safe and the two developed a connection with each other. Once things were eventually sorted, Mari left town and ceased contact with Nash. This only made Nash realise how strong his feelings were towards Mari and with the help of Mari’s sister in-law, Harlow, a plan was hatched to bring the two together again.
Even though this book veers away from firefighters and Alaska, I still loved it plus there is some pop in’s from a few of the previous characters. The story had bit of everything, some drama, romance, funny banter, HEA and a sexy charming southern family oriented man. Lots of steamy moments to get the blood pumping. The way Harlow kept putting Max in his place when he tried to interfere was hilarious. A great addition to the series and worth a read.
Mariana (“Mari”) Channing reached out her arm, but the sheets were cold and Brett Hanson was missing. She sat up in bed, feeling that something was wrong. All of his belongings at the bed & breakfast they were staying in were gone. His razor wasn’t on the sink. She grabbed her phone to call him – and the number was “no longer in service”???? What was going on?? It has been Brett’s idea to come here. Mari had no money and was dreading having to ask if the room had been paid for. She told the receptionist that her boyfriend had to leave suddenly and asked if he had paid for their stay. He hadn’t – so now what would she do? She didn’t know that the worst was yet to come.
By the time Mari meets Nash, he is attracted to her and wants to help her. But after her experience with Brett, she was no longer willing to take a chance on a man. He is protective of her, despite her stubbornness, and she does need his help. What will she choose to do? Can she see that he is very different from Brett? Will she let down her defenses with him?
This author is amazing with how she writes her characters and how the story line just grabs the reader up to be surrounded by world that feels so real! Right from the beginning, the reader can feel the tension as Mari frantically searches for her boyfriend, not having any idea what is going on! Grab your copy and experience a well-written story that allows you to live through every moment with the characters!
Oh man what an amazing read that has all the feels and little to no drama between the couple...loved it !! Mari is stranded in New Orleans when her ex leaves her in the middle of the night, maxes out her credit cards, leaves her footing the bill for the Inn they were staying in and to top it of, gets a refund on her plane ticket so he could get the money. Luckily she met Nash, a man her ex was meeting while there and goes to Nash’s office to find the no good ex. Nash is instantly drawn to Mari, he knows her brother through business and offers her help with a place to stay and to track her ex down, especially when they figure out that he has gotten her involved in a dangerous gang and Nash vows to protect her no matter what...what happens when it’s all over. Man oh man what a read with steam a bit of suspense and amazing characters that I couldn’t get enough of. I loved Nash, he was sweet, down to earth, patient and didn’t run away from his feelings. Mari was independent, too independent and too stubborn at times that I wanted to shake her but I did like the little to no drama with her and the ending in the airport. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Mari woke up in a beautiful Bed and Breakfast to find her boyfriend Brett wasn't in the room...when looking around room, discovered his clothes, suitcase, toiletries all gone...so she goes downstairs to find he didn't pay the bill, instead maxed out all her cards, even got her return flight ticket refunded...only lucky part of this scenario was Mari's remembering an appointment Brett had with Nash. Nash had heard from him concerning an investment opportunity but thought the deal was very weak and refused...but when Mari shows up at his office, he sees her and is instantly smitten...plus he knows her brother Max having business dealings with his security company...helps her find out what Brett actually did, lets her stay in a corporate condo, hires a private investigator to got through Brett's finances and takes her to tour New Orleans and the restaurant scene. She gets her employer to let her write about the Inns in town so she is working while news keeps piling up on Bret's misdeeds...but you will need to read this southern-based sweet story to see what happens..I voluntarily read the book through an Advanced Reader Copy...
A Romantic Storyline in New Orleans. This is such a great addition to the New Orleans based Boudreaux Universe. The universe includes a brief trip to Alaska with players and a scene at a familiar coffee shop. This represents the Hot Shot Series (written by this author). The main characters in this book are Real Estate billionaire Nash Reynolds and journalist, Mari Channing. They meet under weird circumstances...Mari was left high and dry by her now missing boyfriend Brett at a B&B. She finds out he had a meeting with Nash so she shows up there. That sets off an investigation who comes to find out he was business acquaintances with her brother, Max who happens to be married to Harlow who is a Hot Shot still up in Alaska. So this gets into a little quasi mystery but thats the vehicle for bring Nash and Mari to come together. The author was very successful with this storyline. She didn’t let the mystery over the romance. I’m without a doubt recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. I received this ARC for my honest review so I’m leaving this for your consideration. Peace.
I loved this story. So different that what I was expecting. There is always angst to most stories and damaged H/H but this is such a simple love story, I was in love with Nash.
Nash Reynolds is a workaholic rags to riches hero. He is so busy with work that he doesn’t realize the never has time for a personal life until he meets Mari Channing. Luck, or should I say bad luck hits Mari in the form of a boyfriend who disappears and leaves her high and dry with no money and now way to get home. She was able to find his appointment with Nash, who happens to be a business partner of her brother’s, so she went to confront Brett, but she misses him.
Nash took one look at Mari and knew he couldn’t let her walk out of his office. He helps her find a place to stay and wants to help find Brett to make him pay for what he did to Mari. This was such a sweet love story, set in New Orleans and the weirdness Brett brings into the story makes it fast-paced. I loved it and I have to say Ms. Croix has done it again. Can’t wait to read more of her books.
I received this advanced copy for my honest review.
Big fan of Easy This Time by JH Croix. ...the book has a hot guy with a southern accent ... who's crush is turning into something more, a heroine with a ex boyfriend who has left her penniless ... and with his bills to be paid, a meddling brother who'd like nothing more than to make Mari's problems disappear.
This book is why Ms. Croix is such a terrific author. From the first chapter, I was drawn in. The storyline goes well beyond the typical romance. There is suspense, scenes that sizzle, and dialogue that is chock full of southern charm and romantic scenes. Characters are well developed and the book moves at just the right pace. I liked Mari, who wanted to stand on her own two feet without help from her brother and who is successful in her own rights. Nash .. sigh ... was protecting Mari from her ex, managing her brother, all while wrestling with his crush turning into something more.
If you're looking for a good book to help you escape, download this immediately! ...but beware! you'll want to curl up on the couch and escape into this book!
A Fantastic Story . I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Easy This Time . I really enjoyed reading Easy This Time . It is a very well written and wonderful romance . He left her with the bill , he cleaned out her accounts , charged up her cards left her broke and alone . Maria finds the place he was suppose to be meeting Nash Reynolds . Nash has a business relationship with Mari's brother Max . Nash finds himself taken with Maria from the start . Nash offers to help . Mari is embarrassed being taken by Brett . She hated to tell her brother . She excepts Nash's offer of staying at one of his condos and helping to clean up Brett's mess and stopping him . While being shown New Orleans they grow closer and Nash steps up to keep her safe . When danger comes at her . But can Nash and Maria have a happy ending . This is fantastic and intriguing story . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Talk about hitting it off from the start! Mari and Nash meet in unconventional circumstances and a quick, desperate stop-over turns into the most unlikely pairing. Although Mari tries to keep her independance and deal with her problems on her own, Nash seems to always find the right arguments to let her accept what he offers. The slow burn that sparked right from their first meeting may have been slow and sweet as molasses, but also as spicy as Louisiana Gumbo! Those two had no chance against the chemistry that combusted whenever they were near. I pretty much read this book in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. It was great to revisit Max and Harlow from ‘Into the Fire’ (Into the Fire series) as well as Gabby and Rhys from Kristen Proby’s ‘Easy Charm’ (The Boudreaux series) and made the melding of the two worlds seamless. If I’m still going with the baseball theme, this one’s out of the ball park!

Mari awoke to a very bad morning. Her boyfriend is gone, his phone disconnected, her money stolen and credit cards are maxed out. Brett planned a special getaway for her at the magical Inn Boudreaux, but this was not the kind of getaway she expected. With only an appointment Brett left on her iPhone to go by, she found her way to the office of Nash Reynolds, a wealthy real estate investor in New Orleans. Brett had, indeed, been to his office, but Nash immediately threw him out, sensing what a lowlife he was. As he listened to Mari's predicament, Nash felt a sense of warmth throughout and the feeling that he needed to protect her. He knew he had to keep her safe, even when she put up a fight about accepting his help. What Mari really needs is to forget. He helps her forget everything for a little while. But, can he ever let her go? And Mari, will there come a time when she doesn't need him? Trouble isn't done with them and Nash is going to keep her safe, especially in the face of real danger. A steady pace, steamy plot and complex characters make this a wonderful story.
You simply can’t miss with reading any of this author’s work! Easy This Time is another great and enjoyable read with interesting storyline and instantly likable characters that have explosive chemistry. Although strong and independent,Mari finds herself in need of help after her boyfriend emptied all of her bank accounts and left. Nash felt an instant pull towards Mari and is determined to help her. Their relationship soon turns into so much more! I just loved these two together! Nash was another swoon worthy book boyfriend which I’ve come to expect from this author. I have to admit Mari frustrated me at times with her stubbornness. Their chemistry was sizzling hot and super steamy and threatened to melt my Kindle! Storyline was fast-paced and intriguing with a touch of mystery. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
I received a copy of this book from BadBoyUpdate and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Another brilliantly written, swoon worth story by the infamous Ms. Croix. The story was intoxicating, addicting, sizzling with the right amount of suspense which made it hard to put down. Maria and her boyfriend Brett went to New Orleans on a mini vacation. When she woke up the next day, Brett was gone, leaving her high and dry with no money. She remembered he was meeting up with Nash Reynolds who has a business relationship with her brother, Max. She told him what had happened and immediately he offered to help her and keep her safe. Although Nash is gorgeous and kind but Maria is so afraid of getting into another relationship with anyone since her experience with her ex. She couldn't fight her attraction and their chemistry was undeniably hot. Will Maria set aside her stubbornness and give this relationship a chance? You will have to read it to find out and you will not be disappointed. I received a free book from Booksprouts and chose to voluntarily leave a review.
I haven't read all the nooks in this series but I had no trouble following the story line o I am assuming that each book is a separate story. This is Mari and Nash's stpry
Mari Channing is delighted when her boyfriend Brett Henson takes her away for a weekend in New Orleans Only problem is when she wakes up he is gone with all his possessions. He has left her with the bill and has maxed out all her credit Trying to track him down she connects with a man that he had a business meeting with the day before. Nash Reynolds hadn't been that impressed with Brett and had shown him the door but he does feel sorry for Mari and he does business with her brother Max. He offers her refuge in one of his condos and tries to help her sort out the mess her life has become as they spend more time together romance blooms but will he be able to keep her safe when danger threatens You will have o read to see
Mariana (Mari) Channing is strong-willed and stubborn and wants to make her own way in life. She has a forgiving heart and wants to believe in forever love. Against her better judgment, she travels from San Francisco, CA with her boyfriend Brett Henson to stay at Inn Boudreaux in New Orleans, LA for a weekend stay, or so she thought. Little did she know she would be unceremoniously dumped by her unscrupulous theft of a boyfriend and that the life she had with him would begin to unravel until all the skeletons were out of the closet. In comes Nash Reynolds the real estate mogul and business associate of her wealthy big brother Max Channing. Nash is everything she has always wanted in a man but is afraid to believe she can have. This story has strong male and female characters and a great storyline that grows in intensity and suspense. Throw in steamy sex scenes, romance, intrigue and uncertainty and you have a wonderful book.
The characters are just likeable, as they are in all of Ms. Croix's books. Both are strong and independent personalities and at the same time vulnerable, as they are not used to such strong and deep feelings for someone else ... The chemistry between Mari and Nash? It could resuscitate a damaged heart in an instant ... it's that strong, and sparkling with electricity!
The plot is twisted, sometimes similar to a thriller, but with enough passion to fill a book of its own.
I loved to revisit well-known protagonists and places like New Orleans and the Boudreaux-Universe and Willow Brook and the Into The Fire-Universe. This romance combines the best of both worlds.
Easy This Time is a book that you can't let go of because of these two amazing and endearing characters and the intense plot. It is a real page-turner!
A hot romance by the talented JH Croix! I loved the setting of New Orleans and the premise of the story was so interesting. Mari is in New Orleans with her boyfriend. Except when she wakes up, he and his things are gone, and his phone is disconnected. She soon finds out he’s maxed out her credit cards, taken out loans in her name and refunded her plane ticket so that she’s stuck in New Orleans. Luckily, she goes to Nash hoping he might have some information on her boyfriend’s whereabouts and finds out he is the perfect charming Southern gentleman. He goes above and beyond to help Mari and falls in love with her in the process. I loved their HEA! Mari is Max’s sister, from “Melt With You,” and I loved reconnecting with him and Harlow in Alaska. I received an ARC from the author via Booksprout. This is my honest review.
Nash has an instant attraction to Mari that he just cannot seem to ignore. When Nash finds out that Mari has some serious problems because of her ex-boyfriend he wants to help. He knows that she is in a tuff spot and will do what he can to protect her. Mari finds herself being swept off her feet even though she really does not want to be in another relationship. She knows she cannot handle her problems on her own so she turns to Nash for help. It seems that everytime they turn around they run into another issue that puts her in major jeopardy. I loved how protective Nash was of Mari. These two were great characters and you will really enjoy reading their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
OMG another great book by this amazing author. I’ve read multiple books by this author and every book she puts out gets better and better. Mari just had her heart broken, crushed and she was skammed! I cannot believe the stuff Brett put her through. Maxing our her credit cards and leaving her stranded. Nash is a good friend of her brothers and when they meet you can feel the instant connection. Having had a horrible experience with Brett she’s doesn’t know if she can trust Nash. Uhhh I just wanted to hop in the book and shake him so bad for hurting Mari. Can she trust Nash even when danger is lurking around the corner? Find out when you get this book!!

Mari fits the saying, " If she didn't have bad luck, she'd have no luck at all." Maria's boyfriend, of sorts, leaves her high and dry in New Orleans. She goes to Bush's office the last place her boyfriend Brett was to go. These two are immediately attracted to each ither but there are other things that need to be taken care of. Mari and Nash slowly come together as he shows her his city. Nash, along with Mari's brother Max, are trying to get to the bottom of everything her ex has done to her and her credit. Can these two get a happy ever after? Mari is gun why of men who won't tell her things and want to keep her down. Nash isn't sure of he's ready for a forever. Absense does make a heart grow fonder. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review
4.5 Stars This is a Boudreaux Universe novel and it features Nash and Mari. Unforeseen circumstances left her high and dry in New Orleans, which is where she meets Nash. He is her knight in shining armor and boy, does she ever need one right now. She keeps trying to stress that she can take care of herself but she’s not understanding that Nash is only being the southern gentleman he was raised to be. She recently broke up with a loser of all losers. Can what she feels for Nash be real or just rebound feelings?
I’m done reading this book and I still can’t get Nash’s slow, sexy, “I have all the time in the world” walk out of my head. Yum! I fell in love with these two right away because their attraction felt natural and so real. It felt good to watch them fall in love.
This is my first book by this author and the first one I read from this series while it can be read as complete standalone I would love to read more of some characters.
After Mari finds out her boyfriend disappeared on her, she is determined to get the best of this, meaning, not having for a boyfriend an a** as her ex. While trying to find out what happened she meets sexy and rich business man, Nash.
Nash takes a look of Mari and he is determined to help her get on her feet but it won't be easy, because she is determined to not to trust a man again.
Mari can't resist Nash and everything he does ti get her back and keep her safe. And Nash won't let Mari run away from him.
It wasn't a long book but it was entertained and hot.

Mari Channing has the worst luck with men! Her most recent boyfriend has charged up her credit cards and has a loan shark chasing after her! What the hell? Then she meets Nash Reynolds, real estate developer and business associate of her overprotective brother! Getting his first glimpse of Mari when she comes looking for the boyfriend who left her high and dry, he isn’t ready to let her go just yet. She is in danger and he only trusts himself to protect her! JH Croix is a favorite of mine and so is Kristen Proby! So when she opened up the Boudreaux Series to other authors, I was ecstatic! This story was well written, steamy, sexy, swoony and a little bit suspenseful! Check it and all the other books out today!!
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I love Nash and Mari. I can relate to Mari on so many levels but especially continually choosing losers for guys. But I never had anyone like Brett. He really is a jerk. I could feel her anger for Brett and the hurt he caused her. And then Nash is blown away by Mari and he doesn't know what to do with what he is feeling. Mari is feeling things too but is thinking he is a rebound and doesn't want that.
Will they be able to figure out what Brett is up to and get Mari out of danger? Will they figure out their feelings and if they are real or just lust?
This has lies, betrayal, danger and so much more. I was entertained from the first page to the very last. The storyline was well written and the characters have dynamic chemistry. Mari was abandoned by her boyfriend. She woke at Inn Boudreaux a cute little bed and breakfast they booked for the weekend. His cell phone is disconnected and he is no where to be found. Her brother Max has a security tech company and lives between Alaska and San Francisco with his firefighter wife Harlow. Nash is renowned in New Orleans for purchasing prime real estate. He had Max do the security system for this office building. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A great fab story from JH Croix , Mari and Nash are great likeable main characters and the storyline is fab and well written , from a disappearing boyfriend Brett in a weekend break in New Orleans to finding out your cards have been maxed out and leaving her with an unpaid hotel bill Maria's life couldn't get any worse right? wrong , on the plus side for her she and Nash get closer as time goes by and have some great chemistry between them , it's not an easy ride to get their HEA but they do work it out , thoroughly enjoyable read and couldn't put it down until I finished the book, highly recommended read , I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review
