It's a tight rulebook that gives everything one would need to run an Alpha Strike. It's got enough optional rules to complexity Alpha Strike if that's something you want to do.
With that being said, if you really want more complexity...just play Classic Battletech.
Well worth the cost, especially with the froth induced by the Clan Invasion kickstarter. It's a glorious time to be a fan of Battletech.
