Very funny story, and a good scifi one to boot. I like this sort of thing, so you might too if you're a scifi fan with a slant towards the amusing and the crazy. Very amusing this book was, and highly recommended.

Well, this was absolutely brilliant! Normally the first book in a new series is a little difficult to get into, but not this one! There was plenty of action and twists and turns, but generally I found it a light-hearted and easy read - just what I needed to read at the moment. Plenty of laughs, amidst the action. I didn't need to read anything hard, any doom and gloom, and this book was just perfect.
I don't think the blurb does it justice, it was so much better than I was expecting, and I am waiting in anticipation for the next book in the series. What a fantastic team of authors - I normally avoid anything by two authors, but this duo is brilliant.

A Fun action packed read
I thought I'd give Krimson Run a try after reading Julia Huni's Space Janitor series. I knew I'd found a new favorite author. Crimson Run did not disappoint. It's full of unexpected twists and turns and good clean fun. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Excellent starter book for a new series
Loved the book and it's characters. Quinn and Tony are well fleshed out and you can see and hear them in your mind's eye. Can't wait for next book.

Fun story! Almost nonstop action laced with the occasional lulls to catch your breath. Snarky commentary throughout which made me laugh! Add space and stir. I'll definitely be continuing along for the ride!

Excellent story, great characters and a exciting adventure ! Liked all the family dynamics and cultural references. I think this could turn out to be a favorite.

A great first book in the Crimson Empire series by Julia Huni and the amazing Craig Martelle, Krimson Run features the complicated adventures of MCs Quinn Templeton a former Confederation agent turned unhappily married Mom of teens Lucas and Ellianne and 'accountant' Tony Berger (aka Marconi - his Mafia-like crime Family), who keeps a vital secret very close to his chest indeed - until he intervenes to save the Templetons from the very people they believed in and trusted completely.
How can Quinn and her children escape from the people who've sentenced her to death and a husband who lies as easily as breathing?
Will Tony return to the Family he turned his back on?
Who is Sashelle and what is her connection to the Eliminator of Vermin?
Does Francine pose a threat to the fugitives?

I'm tough with my ratings, and this hasn't done (and probably won't do) something like win both the Nebula and Hugo awards, so I'm not giving it a full 5 stars completely on merit. On the other hand, it is well written, fast paced, has believable characters, interesting settings, and it was a page turner since every time I had to put it down I picked it up again without delay. So it gets at least a 4, probably 4 and a half on merit, and since these authors don't have a huge publishing team behind them to help them out and clean up any mess they might accidentally make, I am rounding it up. If they keep it up, they might crank out a 5 star novel for me one of these days.
As for the story itself, the main character gets the shaft by everyone who shouldn't right at the beginning, and then everybody else turns out to be an unexpected surprise after that. That's already probably more of a spoiler than I wanted to write, but I can't be any more vague about it either. Plan to follow the fun, see how it all works out, and then expect to be looking forward to getting the sequel.

Absolutely loved this book!
Lead Lady Quinn is a Mom: she thinks of her kids needs first. That said, Quinn is put in a horrible situation, where she teams up with an accountant she's known for years,. They provide a daring escape for other unlucky souls left behind on the Station which ended up with Quinn landing in a Federation prison on death row. Things start getting dicey from there.
Rich character personalities, a Coward of a husband, Lots of action, a snotty Mother-in-Law, & a shuttle battle during which EMPs were launched to knock out the enemy! I couldn't put it down & I have to finish the series! Wow, I am impressed!

Empire
Wow how fun and exciting what an adventure I really enjoyed this book I already recommended to my girlfriend. I'll tell you what this was a fantastic Adventure everybody from start to finish had their jobs and do what to do even though they didn't know what to do they did it anyway how much fun is that space adventure you better believe it all the characters were great they were flushed out really well I love the fact that Darren a 19 year old old took it upon herself to go and save her cousin Tony wow fun fun fun

Great new series!
Loved Craig’s stories and followed to this one...it was laugh out loud in places I loved the family dynamics!!! I was about to start the last mech book too but going to see if the second book to this is out before I touch that one oh and I power read this since it’s now about 3am and I started this at some point today in between My boys trying to kill each other with hoverboard stunts in the living room....save me from quarantine antics🙄

Enjoyable characters, fast paced plot and plenty of humor made this book difficult to put down. While I often have a pretty good idea of where a story will go while I'm reading it, this one had enough twists and turns to keep me guessing.
While this was a complete story, it did a good job of setting up future books and I can't wait to read them.

Excellent
In all the uncertainty and confusion of the present, there’s a great need for distraction. This book is the solution. Allowing us, the readers to be caught up in another world and the problems of someone elsewhere who has decided to fight for her children no matter what the cost. A great read.

Not good at reviews.
Pretty much anything Craig Martelle writes I'll love. This is no exception. I enjoy the characters, and the adventures that they have. Now, here is another series that I'm going to have to read to the end! Oh well, sleep is overrated and I am sheltering in place for a while...

Adventure and fun
Oh, what fun this book is! Good characters, a hint of romance, and loads of intrigue and action. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next one. With a backdrop of a long space war and the intrigue between multiple space faring families, there is plenty to build on.

Excited about Krimson Empire Series
I've read most of the books by Matelle and his coauthors. All books are fun to read, characters are well developed. This new series by Huni and Martelle is exciting, couldn't put it down. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. Deserves 5 star rating!

Interesting adventures
Quinn is a protective mother and won’t stand for her children to be taken from her. We follow her adventures - mostly she’s flying by the seat of her pants - as she escapes, finds her children, and take them back with her.
A fun new series that I’m looking forward to continuing.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
"Krimson Run" looks like a great beginning to a new series! The story starts with
the betrayal of a group of military dependents, the parents of children.
Then after one mother manages to save everyone, the Federation charges
the mother with treason, convicts her and is going to have her shot.
This is one Mother of a Mistake they will regret.

Nice Star Wars references
The Millennium Peregrine (because there are issues with the other name) made me laugh. This is a great story about the oppressed innocents scapegoated by an uncaring government told in a delightful, action packed adventure with enough levity to keep it from becoming boring. Well Done!

A really great sci-fi read! I did enjoy this fast paced, exciting, well written story! Brilliant! I like the ideas, plot & characters! I do recommend this story & look forward to more from this writer!

Very nice book. I’m an author and have read some of Craig’s non-fiction works, so I wanted to try his (and Julia’s) space opera.
It was a fun read and very hard to put down. I’m about to order the next installment. Looking forward to some more Krimson Empire stories.

The Mom Spy
This is the very first time I read a book that combined crime families, spycraft, and motherhood ("sneaking in narrow space is not for mombod!" ) blended into something fantastic! Can't wait for the second book!

I wasn't sure where this would lead
I actually downloaded this book mistakenly, I am so glad that I did. It was funny and smart plenty of action and adventure but also family and all the little things that go with that. I am now eagerly awaiting read the next installment.

Great first book in the series
The characters are a nice mix of personalities with just enough disagreement among them to keep the story interesting. Good world-building makes for realistic settings. Very enjoyable.
