This is one of the best anthologies I ever got my hands on and although I only read five of the stories for now, I was blown away with their awesomeness, and I will be reading more cause the lineup of the authors here is impressive! So, get ready because this is going to be an essay of a review, I will list all the stories and add reviews for the ones I have read. Each one of the stories so far is full blown five stars.
*With this Axe - K.A. Morse This is one scary story and I loved it to pieces! I just wish it was longer. I loved it so much. The author has yet again proven her amazing talent and versatility and I love her for it. This is a cautionary tale of what might happen when a person is pushed beyond their limits and they lose it. But the story is not just about bullying someone, it is about pretending that it never happened and ignoring the damage years of bullying have had on someone’s life and well being. The main character is Peggy and the story starts the moment she receives the invitation for the high school reunion, which is years later when she finally got her life together and got over the painful times. Or she thought… All in all, a great little story, great idea, great characters, and the plot is brilliantly executed, very realistic and plausible. Loved it!
*Made of Ashes - Jenee Robinson and Brandy Slaven Oh wow! What an incredibly spooky story! This story left me in shock and awe. What an amazingly scary idea! I really really enjoyed reading this story and I absolutely had no idea where it was going and I was surprised and scared and I loved it. The story starts with blood and gore and a bloody suspect in custody. Seems pretty ordinary for a gruesome crime. Until he starts talking and recounting his unbelievable story. And the story is indeed unbelievable, so no one believes him. This was such an amazing well written story, with incredibly well developed characters for so few pages. The characters were easy to relate to because they were so realistic and three dimensional. They are not good or bad, they are just human with all their hopes, dreams and flaws. And the idea itself is so spooky because it was so vivid and believable. I have never read the other author before but now I want to read all of her work.
*Revenant - Rinna Ford
*Ultimate Betrayal - April Bock and Elizabeth G. Ellis This is a great story written by two great authors. I feel like I have been waiting forever to see one of their stories published, while in reality it has been only months. For month I have been observing these two authors writing short stories on social media, dying to read more. Well, this story is one of my wishes come true. I had high expectations and the authors have fulfilled them all. This story is unexpected, dark and twisted, and exciting. The authors did a great job keeping the suspense going from the beginning to the end of the story and leave the readers shocked and petrified. I’ve read the story several times, but the first time was so scary and so shocking, it took me a while to recover. A true horror story. Apart from building up the suspense, the authors did a great job setting the scene and developing characters. Ruby was just insta-love of mine and Paul is super sweet and lovable, and their romance is the focus of the story. I am trying to finds ways how to write more, but it is just impossible because whatever else i want to say would give huge spoilers and ruin the story. I loved it immensely and enjoyed every moment of it. It was worth to wait and I can’t wait to see what the authors come up with next.
*Aaliyah Surprise - Beth Hendrix ad Alexis Taylor
*Death Tower - A.C. Wilds
*Scholarship Blood - Isobelle Carmichael I loved this story from beginning the end. But I have to warn you, it is not spooky or scary, it is just beautiful and lovely. I could easily enjoy this one for Valentine’s Day, but that’s also my twisted sense of romance. Nevertheless, twisted or not, This was one beautiful, and super hot romance. When I started reading, I had no clue where the story was going, and the romance was quite unexpected, and very sweet. And there were some parts in the beginning that had me constantly smiling. Some of Isla’s inner monologues are really comical, and some of the initial interactions as well. The main character is Isla, a human student who goes for a Halloween costume competition and gets more than she expected. Then there is Alexander, and ancient vampire who was very eager to meet her. And their meeting was quite epic and the attraction immediate. And super hot. I loved it.
*A Touch of Death - Candice Wright
*House of Horrors - Katie May and Loxley Savage
*Haxor - Miki Ward
*By Invitation Only - Evelyn Belle This was one slightly creepy, very scary classic horror story, based on a wonderfully executed plot with interesting believable characters. And although as it is a horror story and you know bad stuff is coming, the ending was quite unexpected and a bit of a shock. The author did a fantastic job of creating an atmosphere of a small town where Brenna, the main character returns years later after she left. Brenna is doing mundane stuff with her best friend Isabelle, fantasising about a night of reading, when the past she ran away from catches up with her. I really can't say more without giving spoilers, but I can say that the author did an amazing job building up suspense, developing this story and bringing it to a shocking conclusion. I loved this story and I love this author more and more with each story because she always manages to surprise me.
I'm a huge horror and supernatural fan. This collection is one of my all time favorites. The stories are for more mature adults but are definitely entertaining as well as extremely interesting. I couldn't stop reading and stayed up late into the night to finish it. My only regret was the stories ending sooner than I wanted them to. I would love to be able to read more about some of them. I highly recommend this book to all lovers of the supernatural.
I would have given this book 5 stars, but I hate gore and zombies! I like horror movies and being scared but gore does nothing for me. Unfortunately, be warned this book has both gore and zombies! YUCK! I love paranormal, dark erotica, and fright! This book does have some redeeming stories that I loved! I will admit one of the stories I really like had zombies in it but it was not too bad.
Wow not only does this anthology support a good cause but the stories are amazing and so worth snagging up! You definitely will not regret a thing especially if you love horror and romance. My only complaint is I want more!!
Want to read some short horror stories? Discover some new authors? If so this is the book for you. I wish some of them was longer. This was a great book.
4 ⭐️ Is the average note counted for all stories together, some was as great as 5 stars, and others not so enjoyable at 3 stars. I’m not completely sure why did I take this for reading, horrors are not my favorite, they are practically last on my list. Because of some of those stories I don’t regret it. But am not sure to could sleep peacefully or go out in the night.. ever again
KA Morse - With this Axe 3⭐️ Gruesome and bloody. Honestly not sure I did like it, but it’s raising the problem of being bullied and how it hurt even after decades, and that’s an important message to pass.
Brandy Slaven & Jenée Robinson - Made of Ashes 4⭐️ It was very interesting, very bloody and very haunting. I mean I am scarred of this story, I’m not sure I am going to sleep at all after reading it, and if I ever awake at 2:56 precisely I will probably jump out of my mind.
Rinna Ford - Revenant 5⭐️ I did really like this story. It was beautiful and meaningful even if it had some dead persons filling the room. There was family ties which was really important. There was love as well, even if quite obsessive.
April Bock & Elizabeth Ellis - Ultimate Betrayal 4⭐️ It started almost sweet, almost... and then we got lulled into calm, thinking he had change of heart. But the dark side did come back, take her share and left nothing. It was scary.
Beth Hendrix & Alexis Taylor - Aaliyah’s Surprise 4⭐️ We are pretty much left in the dark with this one. Can only guessing what it os really about, since we have no whole story. It was interesting however death count was pretty high
AC Wilds - Death Tower 5⭐️ To make it short we can say it was a date, a death, a revenge and the after. I honestly liked the idea of this story. It was beautifully written and completely picked my attention, more into genres I love to read.
Isobelle Carmichael - Scholarship Blood 4⭐️ Fifty Shades of Grey in paranormal world, that’s a very interesting combination. It was nice and inventive.
Candice Wright - A Touch of Death 5⭐️ As for every Candice Wright’s story I just gone into full fan mode over it. I love Luce and what is she very very much. I love the guys. I love the idea, which is simply brilliant. I love all this messed up situation and family connections. And I do certainly need more of this story.
Katie May & Loxley Savage - House of Horrors 3⭐️ It was real horror. Typical horror situations came to life. It was bloody. It was getting revenge. It was gruesome. Kt was predictable.
Miki Ward - Haxor 3⭐️ I had trouble reading this. Idea itself is not bad, but somehow I wasn’t able to get into this story. It happen sometimes. It’s not that it’s bad, I simply didn’t feel it.
Evelyn Belle - By Invitation Only 4⭐️ It seemed as safe cute little story, well just until... it was entertaining, nice characters and good idea.
Aspen Marks - My Demonic Soul 5⭐️ This story was interesting, to tell the least. I loved multi-aspects of it. It have a mystery, a crime, love, family, friends and is supernatural themed in addition. I feel that I wanna know more of it, I will need to search this author up.

This is a great collection of short stories, perfect for Halloween. There's a combination of both supernatural and non. Some of these authors i'm already a fan of while others are new to me and i'll definitely be checking them out.
I really enjoyed all of the stories. They were short and got your heart racing and blood pumping. Some were predictable but they were enjoyable nonetheless. I definitely recommend this collection.
Perfect for the Halloween season, this is a fantastic collection of short stories that will have your heart racing. Each story is incredibly well written and tells a unique story. This was a great collection of both human and paranormal horror. Some stories had me completely engrossed and the edge of my seat. Other were a bit predictable but still a great read. I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest opinion.
The perfect collection of shorts for Halloween. These stories run the gambit of supernatural and human horrors. Some of my favourite authors have contributed and some new authors I haven't heard of before. Highly recommended for those times when you have a wee bit of time to take a small bite. Great scary fun!
