About the author

Frank Roderus

Frank Roderus wrote his first story—it was a western—when he was five. It was really awful, as might be expected, but his mother kept that typed and spell-checked short story tucked away until the day she died.
Later, Frank became a newspaper reporter, thinking that books are written by authors which he most assuredly was not. He kept trying to write though, and eventually did it wrong enough to learn how to get it right. That first sale, a young adult novel published by Independence Press, was more than thirty years and a good many books ago.
As a journalist, the Colorado Press Association awarded Frank Roderus their highest award, the Sweepstakes Award, for the best news story of 1980, and the Western Writers of America has twice named Frank recipient of their prestigious Spur Award. Frank passed away at age 73 in December 2015.

Buddy still can’t do his job🙃

Meeting a starving couple and a farmer/cattle rancher changes Jim’s course once again and things end up different again. Then on their way again brings them in contact with religious fanatics a charismatic religious leader to good to be true- But buddy likes him I don’t want to give a spoiler alert so I’ll stop there however I would very much like to find out what happens next will Jim find the rest of his family in Fl ( since he adopted Jeniffer) will she get to meet her little brother jo jo and luraleen this series has been a great read the author pulls you in easily and you become involved and invested with the characters that in my humble opinion is what only good authors can do! anyone can tell a story but few can make you want to find out more about the people its about and always hope for a happy ending
Please finish this series so we can get to know about Wolfe’s wife and son

Awesome book!

Another awesome book in the Nightwalker series! I am so glad for this series. It's editing and makes me thankful for the things that I normally take for granted. I can't wait to see what happens next! Keep churning out the awesome stories, Craig! Thanks for taking over where Frank left off...

Jim Wolfe and his adopted daughter Jennifer with Buddy their half wolf half German Shepherd

They are still on the road to Florida to find Jim's wife Lurleen and son JoJo. Along the way they enjoy the company of friends they meet on the way. In Arkansas they find both trouble and friends in Little Rock. This story is much shorter than the previous five volumes, but the storyline is good and the characters are still the friends we know. On to the next installment.

Average

To my eternal shame I have to admit that I skimmed through a large part of this book. This was not a very good or inspiring story, and Nightwalker was back to his old way of making bad decisions and compounding them by making some more. All in all, not a very good story.

Nightwalker 6: A Post-Apocalyptic Western Adventure - a review by Rosemary Kenny

*slight spoilers*
Jim Wolfe's epic journey to return to his wife and son in Florida enters its 6th stage in Nightwalker - a Post-Apocalyptic Western Adventure by Frank Roderus and
Craig Martelle.
Tightly-written and immediately gripping, the dialogue is succinct and the action is full-on and then some! Having directions to Little Rock, Arkansas (home of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell's characters), Jim, Buddy his German Shepherd and (rescued from abusers and now adopted) new daughter Jennifer make their way, meeting first a young couple, Billy Ray and Mary-Lou who are seemingly unaware of the Apocalyptic bombs that devastated huge swathes of the US, but are only too eager to join in the feast on a trapped boar that Jim laid a trap for. They stay behind to recover from their weakened state, with promises to catch up as soon as possible. The next encounter is with rancher Walton a survivalist who joins them on their journey to the third and most dangerous encounter to date - and one they are lucky to survive. Can the travellers make it home to Jim's wife, Luraleen and son jo jo in Florida in one piece?
Why not try Nightwalker #6 by Craig Martelle and Frank Roderus today - it's guaranteed a place on your what if....?, post-apocalyptic adventure bookshelf!

I enjoy this series very much

I enjoy this series because it is one man working to do the right thing after the world has gone back to not much of anything left.
He just wants to get home to his wife and son but won’t let the bad guys get away with hurting those who can’t protect themselves.

A quieter pace

Another good read from Craig. Jim and Jennifer continue their trek and meet some pretty interesting people on the way. There are some nice people out there, unfortunately some bad as well, and Jim generally find the bad. Well worth a read.
