What I deeply admire about Binibining Mia is her remarkable talent for grounding her characters, her story, her tone, and this narrative as a whole in REALITY—a quality that feels increasingly rare in contemporary fiction. So often, stories today lean towards idealized portrayals of life, characters, and outcomes, shaped by what authors think should be rather than what is. But Binibining Mia captures the complexities and imperfections of real life, creating a resonance that feels honest and profound.

Having read her other works, I can confidently say that the lesson in this story struck me differently—it hits hard, leaving a lasting impression. Beyond the romance and the tension between the characters, one of the most impactful takeaways is a seldom-discussed yet enduring truth: liberty is indeed sweet, but its price is often far greater than we anticipate or are willing to pay.

In a time where freedom and self-expression are not only celebrated but encouraged, this story serves as a gentle yet powerful reminder that self-restraint, after all, is not a sign of suppression but of strength, maturity, and self-awareness.

Bb. Mia just knows exactly how to portray complex characters and events so well.

I bought the softbound of this book about two weeks ago and I finished reading it last night. I cried—that alone is a testimony of how impactful this book is to me.

While reading, the shift from vibrant and colorful portrayal to grey and melancholy atmosphere gave me chills in a way that I had them all in my head as I read. I felt every bit of emotion engraved in the book. I was happy, disheartened, and inspired. All of that flashed through me just by reading this book.

Estella grew. As her character developed, it saddened me how the world can really take away a hopeful woman's joy sometimes.

The same goes with Lucas.

The world was just too cruel to them.

The bittersweet ending (mostly bitter because I really cried for them,) was beautifully written.

This book is a book that awakens people. In romance, in decision-making, in society and politics, and in life as a whole, I can confidently say that this book taught me a lot.

I can feel that I'll be thinking of this book for a longer time than I intend to.

This book is top tier!!! I have been an avid reader since I read I love you since 1892, it has a connection with this book, by the way. Not being a bias but all of her works are good, especially this. Until now, I still get goosebumps whenever I remember how things turns out as the main characters try to get their goals done. It has been two years as I remember since I finished this, and I am so lucky because I finished this before it became a paid story (a broke reader's luck). Bride of Alfonso is a fictional story that could make you feel like it is true because of its realistic yet mind blowing plot, lessons that could really be applied in reality, and a happy ending that may be far from what you have imagine but at least you got the peace that everyone wants to possess in this life.
