Kiuno stands on the frontlines. She's battled grueling trials, crippling heartache, and the horrendous monsters of the realms. But looming shadows tell her the battle is far from over.

Monstrous forces are gathering with the intent to tear them all apart. Whispers of war and betrayal increase unrest among the alliances, and rumors of the lightning user are spreading.

They need to reach the end of this wretched game, but it'll take an army and with the leaders at odds, can anyone bring them together?

I waited what seemed like forever for this book to release and it was well worth the wait! I was telling my classmates who don't read about this series and they all says it sounds like a excellent movie lol. Kiuno is put to the test. Everything she thought she knew was tested. ( feelings, people, alliances, herself) The action and creatures are absolutely fascinating and amazing. Kiuno is becoming the most amazing person and she has an amazing heart and great strength. I can not wait to see her full transformation. I do not have the adequate words to explain how amazing awesome this and the first book are. What an amazing world this author has created and I'm so glad she was willing to share it with us.

I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3-4 Stars! I'm undecided yet, full review to come when I had a bit time to think about that ending. What a ride

Update
Went for the Golden mean: 3, 5 Stars ☆
Soo I liked this even better than book one! I felt like Kiuno really grew as a character and grew more into her role as leader, something I criticized back in my review for Running With the Wolves!
While her risky streak definitely still showed, it was more comprehensible, and she showed her true powers.
Some phrases where used quite often, which made the writing a bit repetitive. Aside from that it was enjoyable and fast paced. The story was as action-packed as book one, with even more magical settings. I especially loved the forest and the rescue of Palindrome, I wish that part would have been a bit longer! It was an interesting change from the other monsters who, while described lively and differently, mostly led to the same outcome and similar fights.
I kind of forgot who was who, but that's my own fault for being so forgetful.

One last thing, which is a spoiler, and kinda irrelevant to my rating, so I'll hide it. It's just that I like to pick apart details and I have a personal vendetta against stereotypes and boring tropes (I should probably stop 😂)

(And a lil sidenote. I know that authors most times don't choose the titles of their books, that publishers pick something that'll sell. But what does this series have to do with wolves? Chronopoint Chronicles is a much better fit! I wonder what the author originally intended to be the title?)

As I say in almost EVERY review, this 5 star rating system is not working for me. Not enough options 😂

Long story short: A well-made sequel with a lot interesting people and creatures, emotional and exciting!

Lots of twists

Truthfully this book had way more twists than I could have imagined. I loved the story line! Definitely recommend it.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to say that I was kind of surprised that I still remember what happened in the first book even though I’ve read the first one months and months ago. I don’t remember ALL of it, but I do remember a lot. I got some problem remembering some of the characters, but it all came back to me the more I read.

For me this was better than the first book. I really saw an improvement in the characters and how the story continues. I still can’t relate to Kiuno though. I don’t get her at all. The writing is still good. But what I really noticed was how the way the characters talked/conversed with each other. They were all from the present but unfortunately, they were sucked into a game called Chronopoint and then time passed - a year from what I remember because someone was keeping track of the days – and they are still stuck in Chronopoint but the way they talked changed dramatically in a short period of time. I mean, the way they converse was not natural. There were parts in the book where they were talking as if they are in medieval time.
I liked what happened to Reece, though I was kind of already expecting that from the very beginning of the second book. I loved the wedding scene because KJ and Palindrome are my favorite characters in this book. Also, Maltack! Maltack is the sweetest. And the ending was a really great way to end this book. That was a nice cliff hanger.
Overall, I think this was a huge improvement than the last one and Running with Wolves was already good so that says a lot. I would really suggest this to all readers who enjoy these kinds of stories. My gamer, fantasy, fight-scene-lover readers out there, I urge you to read this one. This one is tailored for you.

Congratulations J.E. Reed for creating another wonderful book! Will be waiting for the third one for sure.

This super exciting sequel of running with the wolves was such a quick and wonderful read.
I loved diving back into the world of Chronopoint, to meet Kiuno and her friends again and follow them, as they continues their adventure through the realms, making new friends - and new enemies.
This book ripped out my soul, broke my heart, pieced it back together, just to break it again: it was perfect. It had everything in it you could wish for in a good book. Excitement, friendship, love, death, drama, some great fighting scenes, just everything.
With every page I loved it even more.
There are so many amazing characters in the book. Kiuno is such an unique protagonist and I love her so much. She is strong and fierce, she has to struggle with so many problems while possessing a magic, she doesn’t understand completely. And still, still her greatest ambition is, to save the ones she loves, no matter what it might cost her.
As the story continues, I gets more and more exciting. The adventures get more dangerous but there are also some beautiful moments of friendship and love. There are many twists and turns that I didn’t expect at all and they left me completely shocked.
New characters are introduced that make a great addition to the story - I absolutely love Vixen. She’s such a fierce young girl and totally different to everyone else in the book.

Furthermore, it’s amazing, how every realm is differently built. A different climate, different structure, different people and animals. The characters never know what’s next - and neither do you.

I enjoyed the whole book so so much and I am already desperately waiting for a third one because that end couldn’t possibly be the end.
I can only highly recommend this series to everyone. It’s exciting, intriguing, has a great plot and amazing characters!

J.E. Reed did it again. The second installment of this fantastic story tests friendships, love, and leaves the reader wanting more. The imagery is one of a kind and the heartbreak... ugh. I’m still not over it. If you’ve read the first, you should be running for the second and you won’t be disappointed.

not gonna lie, really pissed abt how this book ended. did i correctly guess who the creator was? yeah. but still not happy. anyways i like this series. it isnt what i usually go for and bought it on a whim during stuff ur kindle day, but im glad i did.

my complaints. the writing style is a bit,,,rushed. especially for a third person pov. it becomes hard to decipher whos saying what and whats happening and where we are and it causes the need to reread a lot

mc is probably just, the stupidest person ive ever met. actually i think most characters r the stupidest people ive ever met. idk just her and elites dynamic kind of gives me the ick and then whole thing with reece. shes surrounded by massively intelligent people, people stronger than her, people who r better at literally everything, but for some reason they all look to her like she hung the moon and stars. they talk abt her loyalty and shit and yeah whatever but jesus christ talk abt too stupid to live. is it because shes like resilient? i spent a good chunk of this series trying to figure out what everyone saw in her.

anyways uhh dont read this if u hate unfinished stories cause boy howdy im a little bummed

Another JE Reed story I couldn’t put down! I re read the first book to make sure I remembered everything and it served me well. Lots of characters, lots of twists and turns. Some were more obvious than others- but I almost feel like the obvious ones were placed by design to lull the reader into a false sense of confidence. I now (impatiently) await the next book

I enjoyed the first book Running With Wolves. It gave me the D&D vibe. This second book did continue the same vibe, I was enjoying the book but towards the end I was feeling a bit lost and I wish there was more banter between Elite and Kiuno. I give this book a 3.75.
