This is the story of Mia Scott, an orphan who used her learning disability issue to create a computer to help other children who have trouble learning. Her program has made her a celebrity and is earning her lots of money.
Ryker Johnson is a retired Navy Seal who, with his friend Hawke, has formed an “executive protection” company called Black Swan.
Mia is being stalked by her soon-to-be ex-husband who was abusive during their marriage. Ryker is assigned to be in charge of Mia’s security.
Unfortunately, Mia’s ex is a trusted member of the school board who everyone sees as an up-standing member of the community. He uses his reputation to bad-mouth Mia and to put down her program. However, systematically, his behavior becomes more and more deadly.

This is a great book about a woman named Mia who owns a multi-million dollar educational software company. She gets threatened by her abusive ex-husband but everyone thinks he is an upstanding man. She hires Ryker from a protection agency to protect her from her ex. They are very attracted to each other and he begins teaching her some self-defense moves. But there are fire bombs, fake incriminating photos, financial tricks and legal threats from the ex. How can Mia and Ryker stop him and have an HEA? I highly recommend this book.

What a great addition to the "Must Love Danger" series! This is just as good as "Hawke" and very intriguing. This series which involves retired military who have formed a company called Black Swan Protection. This is Ryker, who is partner's with Hawke, and Mia's story! Great chemistry and interactions between these two. This story has danger, suspense, action and so much more. Nicely developed and well written story.

Wow! Talk about pulling the reader in...this one certainly does. Well developed characters that have you pulling for them (or against in some cases). Fast paced storyline that keeps you reading. Want a sweet love story? Check. Drama? Check. Some spicy love scenes? Got that too. Fun read! I received an ARC and have given an honest review.

Mia is a woman who had a learning disability and used that to create a million dollar computer program to help kids with this issue. She is also in the process of a divorce. Her ex is great at portraying himself as upstanding but Mia see his true colors. He is now stalking her and terrorizing her. Ryker is brought in to protect Mia.
The story has a great pace. I was never bored. The suspense is tight and the romance heated with the story action packed. The character of Mia is well written. You could see her passion for her work. Emily Jane Trent also took us inside Mia's emotions. We could feel her frustration and the feeling of being powerless to her ex. Ryker and Mia make a great pair. He is able to see past the mask and get through her walls. Ryker is a well written, enjoyable read.

This is book two of the series but it is written as a standalone. No issues starting here.
This is a romantic suspense story and it comes out strong right from the start. I love this genre because of the mix of action and romance and this one certainly works on all accounts. The story is well written, easy to read and has a fast paced plot. The characters are well developed and both are tough and smart, which is what I like in my leads. There are some nice twists and turns to the plot which keep things interesting, as well as some nice steamy moments for our couple. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and am definitely looking forward to more in the series.

This is book two in The Must Love Danger Series and it is Ryker and Mia's story and it is a must read. I absolutely loved reading Ryker and Mia's story as it was a true journey of life's difficulties and a second chance of love after everything that they have both been and suffered through in there life. There are twists and turns along the way including danger, drama, suspense, romance, hope, love and difficult situations that makes this book a real page turner that I couldn't put down and it is so addictive. I have read many books by Emily Jane Trent who is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and never disappoints them. I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

This is book two in the Must Love Danger series. This book stands well on its own so no worries if you haven't read the first book. I enjoyed Ryker and Mia's story. It's fast paced with an entertaining, steamy storyline. Mia's at the trail end of a nasty divorce. Her ex is abusive, controlling and manipulative. Mia also grew up in foster care and has learned that the only person you can count on is yourself. Ryker has spent years avoiding relationship, diving further into his career, when his wife died while he was deployed. As they work together the attraction gets stronger and harder to resist. Can Ryker keep Mia safe and get to the bottom of the threat before it’s too late?

The kidnapping and rescue were fantastic, with so many details it felt like you were there, too. The romance felt right and opened up possibilities for both of them. I love the story. Mia was an orphan with a learning disability that she turned in to an advantage. Her soon to be ex husband is a piece of work. He appears to be an upstanding citizen when in reality, he is anything but. Ryker is still reeling from the loss of his wife and is troubled by his feeling for Mia. Mia isn't looking for a new man, she just wants to get rid of the one she has. Ryker and Mia get close as he tries to protect her and their chemistry is strong. Their journey begins. Will Ryker keep Mia safe or will he lose another woman? I love the story. Action, romance and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This is the 2nd book in the "Must Love Danger" series! Wow what an addition. This is Ryker, (partner's with Hawke) and Mia's (owns a multi-million dollar educational software company) story! This is one of my favourite authors, she delivers strong characters and plots that are totally believable.In this book she has combined danger, suspense and romance and some sizzling chemistry. Ryker is hired to protect her from her soon to be ex (upstanding! yeah right) husband. Loved the way this book panned out. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Mia, a remedial learning aid creator was being stalked by her psycho soon to be ex when she needed protection. They called in Black Swan protection and Ryker was put on the case.
This was so dramatic but it was a romance like no other. I loved the way both had issues from past relationships and how they dealt with them. Certainly intense, both in the relationship and the stalker. I loved the dialogue and how she had her walls up but slowly lowered them. The steamy scenes were well needed and the whole book was well written. Great job!

Mia's fought all her life to get where she is and isn't impressed with Ryker's bossy attitude. Ryker thinks she's a prima donna. As the two strong personalities learn to work together as the firm guards her, they discover an attraction that could be so much more. If Ryker and his team can't find a way to stop her ex, she won't just lose her company - she'll pay with her life.

This is a good series with interesting characters, a good storyline and suspense. Mia drew me in with her strength after surviving and not letting her childhood and learning disabilities deter her. Even her marriage to an abuser and manipulator stopped her from realizing her dream. The suspense from Mia being stalked by her Ex and his ability to hide the truth from everyone kept me riveted. Unfortunately, the romance was lukewarm. I liked Ryker, but his connection to Mia didn't gel for me. There was definite mutual respect, admiration and deep conversations, but it lacked spark and intensity.

Boy Mia is a piece of work, sure she had a rough life and a lousy ex husband, but to be so rude and obnoxious to Ryker, her protection team. It was hard to stay with the story. Sure I didn't want a whinny female, but boy did she take the "I can take of myself" to a whole new level. I'm sure this is a good book, but she just turned me off. Ryker, swoon worthy in not only looks but devotion and protection and Mia... fierce, a survivor. Smart and courageous were both characters I would not only love to be but want to be with. The story had me on edge the entire time waiting for James to crack. Great suspense and romance!

This is a well written book with strong characters in Ryker and Mia. The author does a great job developing the story and had me hooked from start to finish reading. She moves the story fluidly and delivers an exciting action packed romance. Loved and recommend this book.

I thought this was a well written story which had good characters who were relatable and they had believable connection and chemistry. The story had pasts, loss, grief, anger, abuse, judgements, lies, suspense, family, friends, ex's, good, bad, romance and love. I am enjoying reading this series.

Ryker is one hot hunk. Mia is a fascinating woman. This was a heart stopping read at times, as you wonder what could possibly happen next. Emily Jane Trent has really come back with a bang with this series. I absolutely loved this book. It is a MUST read!!!
