Keiko thought she was becoming a true samurai warrior, but the loss of her sister will make her doubt everything.
Keiko’s revenge on her enemies is almost complete. Like the chameleon, she has changed herself to attract and entrap the men she seeks. Now, just one man remains unpunished. But before she can complete her vengeance, karma destroys her plans cruelly.
Niko—her adopted younger sister—is kidnapped.
Keiko is sure she knows who is behind the abduction, but she cannot act alone to get Niko back. She is forced to turn to the most unlikely ally to help her—Akira, the most feared yakuza in Edo.
Putting her own desires aside, Keiko must question her own motives and role as a samurai to keep from losing the only person left in the world who loves her.

This third volume following a female Samurai sees Keiko through yet another evolution in character. What does a noble female do in ancient Japan when the rest of her family has perished? Trained for little other than marriage most of her life, how does she care for herself?
Keiko had been posing as a highly valued courtesan while she took vengeance on all she blamed for the deaths of her father and brother. She had envisioned a life with her lover, the ninja Yo, when she completed her quest for justice. But Yo left on a mission of his own, and even though months have passed, she has heard nothing from him.
When Keiko returns home after her last trip away from the Floating World, she finds the young girl she had taken in has been kidnapped in her absence. The child managed to take something from her assailant and hide it in her bedclothes. It is the only clue Keiko has to point her toward rescue for her younger sister.
Keiko will require help to find where the man lives. She turns to the head of the most feared yakuza in Edo for aid. He insinuates himself much farther into Keiko’s mission than she planned, at the same time claiming a place in her heart.
Will this unlikely team be able to save the girl? What of their growing feelings for each other? Is there any hope for love between a yakuza thug and a samurai woman?

This is about the author more than the book. I enjoyed books 1 and 2 and was looking forward to reading book 3. I downloaded all of them from Booksprout as arcs. When I discovered that book 3 was missing the correct book download I contacted the author through Booksprout. Not once did I get a response from the author. I repeatedly try to download up to and including this morning 11/12/19 and as yet the author has not corrected the download and now she wants a review posted to Amazon. So here is the review now if you think this is just a onetime thing no kids authors mess up all the time they are human but not once have I ever had an author not response when it is something as serious as this.
Books 1 & 2 were very good, book 3 not a much. Keiko is now a courtesan but is still set on her path of revenge. But her plans were all foiled, when her younger sister is kidnapped and she is now determined to rescue her. Even if it meant asking for help from the most feared yakuza in Edo.
