SBG is one of the most successful K-pop bands in the world with tons of fans, but that actually makes finding love all the more difficult. For Choi Ha-Joon, known simply as Hajoon, his focus has been on working hard to make SBG a success alongside his bandmates. He hasn’t had time for or even thought much about falling in love. But when American biographer Jenna Oliver arrives in Seoul to live with SBG in order to write their group biography, things begin to change. At first he’s not fond of having someone invade their personal space and is suspicious of her, but as he gets to know Jenna he grows to respect her not only as a professional but as a person. And that respect and budding friendship soon veers toward attraction and deeper feelings he’s never experienced before.
Jenna Oliver is used to feeling like the odd one out. After all, she grew up bouncing from one foster home to another then went to college at age fifteen. By the time she was out of her teens, she’d already completed graduate school and had started her career as a successful biographer. So when she arrives in South Korea to write about a K-pop band, it’s just another instance of being the odd bird. But this new undertaking is full of surprises. Not only does she develop strong bonds with the band members who basically adopt her as a sister, she finds herself falling hard for Hajoon. But some of the band’s fans are not happy with Jenna’s closeness with SBG, particularly one of Hajoon’s more obsessive fans.
To find their happy ending, Hajoon and Jenna have to deal with an industry that frowns on idols dating, fan outcry and their own doubts and concerns. But no one ever said love was easy, especially when you live in the spotlight.

Most realistic speculation of what a kpop idol's life is like that I've read so far. IMHO. And it makes me sad. But I totally enjoyed this story. I really want to continue with the rest of the series to see what happens to the other guys.
I'm not really into K-pop, but I do.love a good love story featuring people from different worlds. Jenna is in Korea to write the bio of K-pop supergroup SBG. While living with them and following their lives she falls hard for one of the guys. Really sweet love story.
A very sweet, clean, heartfelt and feel good story. Granted, the book doesn’t have much action or excitement — at least not when it comes to “love scenes” — like I said, it’s a very clean romance with some nice kissing scenes. And the angst didn’t seem to happen until towards the final half of the novel, but I honestly didn’t mind that at all because it was still a very enjoyable and comforting book to read. Like eating cookies with hot chocolate and marshmallows while you’re wrapped up in a warm blanket on your couch … that’s how I would describe it anyway, lol. So yeah, I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants to read a romance that helps you get your mind off of your problems for a while and/or that serves as a “cleanser” story after reading a disappointing book. I would also recommend it to anyone who loves slow burn friends to lovers, interracial romance, kpop and/or kdramas. Will definitely read other books from this series in the future. ❤️
As a newish K-Pop fan, I was interested in finding some good romance in that setting. I'm happy to say Sing Me a Love Song was exactly what I was looking for! I loved Jenna and all of the SBG guys and the relationship that develops between them. While getting to know them, Jenna gets to experience many of the downsides of their profession, which just makes you feel for them all the more. Jenna is a strong woman, and Hajoon and the guys are sweet with her once they get to know her and often funny together. The brotherhood/friendship between group members has been one of the draws for me and this story delivers. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and hope everyone gets their HEA or at least a happy for now.
I love kpop and this is a sweet little story about the kpop idol world. The author is also clearly a kpop fan and has done good research about idol life, and the story is just fun. I enjoyed the plucky and resilient female lead. I do wish the male lead, Hajoon, would have had more backstory--more about his individual experience and role in the group--and that there would have been more about the relationship between him and the female lead. There was a lot of focus on LeYe that didn't fit into the love story (especially when it looks like LeYe is going to have his own book). Also I personally find the phonetics of the Korean language to be difficult to read in my mind when they are romanized, so while I appreciated the inclusion of some Korean phrases the romanization kind of took me out of the moment. That being said, I look forward to reading more in this series.
I personally really liked Trish’s writing style and the storylines of every member came along very nicely. The books had enough realism to make you think all of this could truly be happening and enough unlikely events to make you dream along. One of the best things about the series was the obvious attempt to make fans more open to the idea of their favorite idols dating and having a private life.
Why only 4.5 stars? There were a few tiny things that I didn’t agree with completely, female behavior I couldn’t relate to and a few Korean/K-pop moments that didn’t add up to me, but nothing too serious. If I could change one thing about this series it definitely would be the book covers. I would love for them to be a bit cooler and more fitting to the K-pop theme. But never judge a book by its cover. This series definitely should be on the list of every K-Pop book reader
2.75⭐️ This was something good to pick up after two back to back horror reads. It was mindless fluff for me, and I mean that in a good way. However, in all honesty, there were a few issues I had with this book. 1-the pacing (what was that) 2- the way all the other members of the group(except Hanjoon), seemed to be damn near identical. They were literally plot devices. 3-the way the ending conflict was resolved. No ma’m. I felt like it was just too perfect after the craziness that ensued. 4- Jenna. Oh Jenna. I get it, she was smarter than everyone else. But sheesh. She needed a bit more development. 5- the book would’ve benefited from another round of edits prior to its publication.
Now, don’t get me wrong, it was a good read. But it wasn’t a great read. I will be reading the second installment mostly out of curiosity and my love for KPop. I’m hoping it’s better.
3.75 went into this with very low but specific expectations and it definitely exceeded them! was mostly mindless fluff with drama sprinkled in, but as someone who’s not into k-pop at all, it was really interesting to see both the dark and positive sides of the fan base from an idols perspective. the writing was very easy to read although not the most refined, and could have done with another once over editing but if you’re looking for a simple fluffy romance i would recommend! a few of the other band mates had absolutely 0 personality and it’s clear the author had favourite characters but those characters immediately became my favs too and i will be continuing the series holding out my for them 🫶 - i will say though the last page ending felt very abrupt and i could have used a teeny bit more fluff of them actually being together (maybe just because i’m used to an epilogue)
This was a wonderful, clean, celebrity romance. A K-pop star and a biographer. A slow burn romance that gives us an in-depth look at the Korean culture, the K-pop industry, and the lives of celebrity band mates. This was a thorough novel that had me on the edge of my seat dwelling in the pristineness of this story. With a touch of suspense, this novel perfectly captures it all and proves how a truly great popstar romance doesn’t require bedroom scenes to be rated at the top. Very inspired. We were also given such an in-depth look at the band mates that all of the subsequent books are well set up.
I can devour books like this bonbons simply because I’m so entranced by the whole Korean cultural scene: K-dramas, K-pop, the beauty of the country and its traditions. This is a fantasy, with likable characters and an endearing plot. Like a bonbon, it probably doesn’t have a lot of nutritional value, but as soon as another book in this series is available, I’ll be reaching for it.
Very basic story, Not a lot going on really, great for young teens, I have been reading books like this to glean information on the K pop Industry. This is not one of those books at all. xoxo, Shine, Bright are better books to read more substance and not sugary. This is the start of a series I wont read more. Its Mills and Boon like, not at all believable and that is why its great for teens.
I loved the idea of a biographer doing a book on a whole Kpop group. Of course she falls in love with one of them. Each character seems real and the author does a good job of portraying life as a Kpop idol group. She includes both sides of the fandom as well, healthy and crazy. Great story!
If you are looking for a sweet story where there is instant attraction that progresses to love, this is it. I really liked this book. It was very cute and made me want to keep reading. The MC connects with every member of the K-Pop group and is able to form deeper connections to two members. One as a brother figure, the other as a love interest. It is a good detox between the dark romances and the Asshole Boyfriend stories. I would recommend. May even pick up the next in the series.
A very great story, was quite attention grabbing. Though it really made me think of BTS as I read it, which gave it a Fanfiction feel. I'm super excited to continue the series and see what happens for the rest of the characters.
First of all, these types of books feel so unrealistic. And all the bondings the author is so determined to create between Jenna and the band members are honestly cringy and not cute at all. Come on. Like what? An unknown biographer from another country came and started to get to know them to write their story and all of a sudden she is somehow changing all their lives with just her presence and is making everyone feel happy. And they all have such a sweet bonding with her just like brother and sister. Awww!! What a sweet fairytale! Shut up🙄.
And besides the fans jealousy in k-pop, an woman living with a group of men in just morally wrong for me. Sorry.
This book isn’t a comedy, but I laughed my ass off anyway. I really wish it had been on KU...I spent actual money on this 😔 That said, the author’s writing is genuinely enjoyable. The story itself? Not so much.
Wonderful romance story set in the world of Kpop idols. Will they ever admit their feelings, will they ever get together? No spoilers here. Great Character and storyline development from a talented author. I judge a book on whether it transports me to another world in my imagination within the first chapter. This book did within the first couple of pages. I so want to read book 2 right now but I have a commitment to beta read another book over the next 4 days. Can’t say enough good things about this author.
I ENJOYED THIS BOOK AND WAS PLEASED WITH THE HAPPY SURPRISING CONCLUSION. THERE WAS A LOT OF INTERACTION BETWEEN ALL THE PLAYERS, WHICH HELPED THE STORY LINE. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT BOOK, WHICH HAS A GREEN COVER. RAY ASHTON-SUNRAY
JUST AS AN ADDED NOTE, I LOVED THE COWBOY BOOK IN MONTANA, THE CHRISTMAS STORY WAS WONDERFUL.
