Turn It Up #2

Still Her

Rate this book
The last three years have been a hell of a ride.

The success of my band continues to steadily rise which is all a rock musician can ask for…

Except for maybe being married to my beautiful, spunky wife.

Having her by my side blows the rest of it all away.

There’s just one insidious evil F-ing it up.

We’ve signed with the industry’s highest rated PR rep.

The guy is a real shark and can seemingly make anything happen for us with a snap of his fingers.

He’s a high roller who’s built quite an empire and whether it’s women, deals, or access, if he wants it to happen, it happens.

But he and I have a problem now…

Because he now has his sights set on my wife.

He thinks that because of who he is and what he’s done for us, she’s his for the taking.

But while the douchebag overestimates his ability to get whatever he wants, he underestimates so much more.

Like Mayzie’s love for me and this band.

What I’m willing to sacrifice to keep him and his sick desires away from her.

The strength of our love when we face something together.

And her ability to stand up for herself and those she loves….

This is book 2 of the Turn It up Series. 🎸
If you’re looking for an absolute feel good read, this is the author for you!

The first book was SO good and I fell in love with Jack. But book 2 made me fall even harder. 🔥
He’s so protective, sweet, caring, and one hunk of a man.

Mayzie is still the fiery, spunky, sweet girl that I also adore!

This book had me hooked from page 1. There’s drama with Eli, who’s their agent, and he’s got his sights set on Jacks wife... but that’s not exactly going to fly with Jack ;)
Sexy, fun, adorable, and overall just (ahhhh) 😊

“Still her... Still mine.” ~ Jack.

This was a great follow-up to See Her. The story tool some sharper turns, but the risk paid off. I was flipping the pages as fast as I could, desperate to know the upshot. Plus, Jack and Mayzie handled the situation like bosses. A lot of second novels are hard to get right, but this was spot on.

Jack and his total devotion is what brought me back for the second book in this series.. that and the fact that this story is amazing and hooked me from the start! I love the characters and their perfect love and the way that despite the odds they always come out on top together. The suspense that this story brought with it made it hard to put down! Powerful man uses that power to try and take advantage of unsuspecting women... or even women who know exactly what he wants and what they stand to lose unless they play his game! Mayzie put an end to that! And I loved it! Of course Jack was there to be her soft place... then we got a happy ending and a baby! Oh and bonus for it still not being over!

Still Her

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Darkness: 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
POV: Dual 1st Person
M/F
Stand Alone? No. This is the second book of this couple’s life together.

I can’t explain the kind of joy reading these books brings me. Jack is not your average rock band lead singer, and Maze is not your average rock wife. The sweetness of these two is intense and the story just gives me feel good bumps all over, every time I read more. I love the fact that there is no miscommunication between them, I love that they fight but also make up and even when mad can see the other’s perspective. I love the loyalty and the strength and the determination they have to make it work. There isn’t much about this couple a person wouldn’t love and I am eternally eager for more! Thank goodness it’s “(Still Not) The End.”

Happy Reading my Friends!

This follow up to See Her follows Jack and Mayzie on tour again, but this time as headliners. Turn It Up has moved up in the world, upgrading buses and signing with a high profile agent. Things are definitely looking up for the band, and on their third tour, Jack and Mayzie have a handle on how to navigate their rockstar love story.

But things aren't always as glossy as they seem. Mayzie doesn't trust their new agent. Is it just because he is a sleezeball? But Mayzie and Jack learn to trust their gut, and their dog, when something isn't right. And nothing is going to break this couple, or the band!

So cute

The story was so cute! It was a perfect follow up to see her. Jack and Mayze are still amazing. Still super cute. It was great to see them come together against the bad guy and see him get what he deserved! Such a good read. I recommend to anyone who likes rockstar romance or even just a good love story!!!

3.5/5.0

This story is a sweet look at a deep and abiding love that must stand the trials of a musician’s life on the road and in the spotlight. It isn’t strong on depth but the character’s love and devotion to each other through all the trials and challenges definitely makes up for any shortcomings.

A very interesting and unexpected detour from the tone of the first book, See Her.
A really compelling story that had me staying up late to find out what would happen next.
Jack and Mayzie are really put through the ringer but come out on top and their relationship is much stronger as a result. I'm not going to give it away, but I LOVE THE ENDING!!!

Natalie continues Jack and Mayzie’s story in Still Her. She grabs a hold of your heart and won’t let go at all. Her writing is outstanding and she makes you want more.

This book sees Mayzie as feisty as ever and you think that nothing would shake her until she meets Eli. Jack is the “book-boyfriend” we all dream about.

Turn It Up is on a country-wide tour and Mayzie has joined them. The band has hired a new PR rep, who apparently is the best in the country, but something is off with him. He has said a few things to make Mayzis very uncomfortable and Jack is ready to kill him. The band is also uneasy with how the douchebag has been acting and talking to Mayzie. After a very traumatic event, Jack had to call in his brother-in-law, who is a lawyer, Mike and Mike brought in a police detective with him. This is where things get really interesting.

Jack and Mayzie find out that Eli has a history of treating and threatening women to get what he wants. Jack and the band know something needs to be done about Eli? What will they do? Will feisty Mayzie get the last laugh or not?

Natalie has your stomach in knots as you read Mayzie & Jack’s story. The relationship they have will test anything thrown at them. They are perfect for each other as they are opposite but also compliant one another. Jack had you falling love with him all over again. Mayzie is the strong female that women strive to be like. Sexy, fun, heartbreak and the perfect HEA book.

I was so thrilled to learn that Mayzie and Jack's story was not over. The first book is about how they meet, fall in love and navigate their new relationship while Jack's band starts to become famous.

Now the band is 3 years in the spotlight and no more opening acts for them as they are the main act. There were some bumps and learning curves along the way, especially when touring. Jack and his band have been together for 13 years and when he and Mayzie fell in love and got married, they'd only known each other 4 months. But after a few hiccups, they all find their groove. So when Mayzie is threatened by someone who has the potential to hurt the band, everyone steps up for her like the family they've become. The threats are subtle and happen only occasionally. He's careful not to do or say anything that can get him in trouble, but in that creepy way that let's you know exactly what he means. Jack is super protective of Mayzie and he struggles to keep his anger in check. Mayzie feels weak, but is actually much stronger than she realises. With everyone on board to help, we get a little more insight to the other band members. I'm especially interested in Matt, who is Jack's best friend. There is definitely something going on in his life that he isn't sharing and I need to know if my suspicions about what it is, are right. Anyway, Jack and Mayzie are really tested in this story. I loved how they relied on each other to get through it. It only made them stronger as a couple. It was heartbreaking to see them struggle with how to deal with this threat, but again, it only made them stronger.

This story will make you feel everything, love, outrage, compassion and everything in between. The one constant is the love between Jack and Mayzie. I'm not sure another couple could've gone through what they did and come out the other side to still be ok.

If you've read the first book, you must read this one. The story only gets better. The bonus is that we start to learn more about the other bands members and a couple of the side characters, which only enhanced the story. Go ahead, read the book. You won't be disappointed.

After reading the first book See Her i was pretty pleased to have the opportunity to also read this one.
Now three years later and Jacks band is well and truly established. Both he and Mayzie are still in love and getting used to the rock star life, both the good and the bad !!!
Faced with some difficult decisions and trying to surround themsevles with good influences and people they can trust they find it leading them to places they never thought they would have to visit.
Mayzie is still shy and not overly confident and easily overwhelmed in specific situations. But now she might just have to get her brave hat on to protect her man, his band and her reputation.
I have to say, the Jack and Mayzie are the most laid back rock stars i have come across. In ways they seem to live in their own little bubble. as even after 3 years in this cut throat business they still seemed a little naive at times.
Again i enjoyed this read but at times it still felt as though it was plodding along with lots of detail that i felt took my attention from where i wanted it to be. Lots of detail but conversations between Jack and Mayzie were sometimes short not giving us a chance to really get into the characters and i desperately wanted to know what made them tick, i wanted to have a passion for them, to root for them and to be right there with them. At times i almost felt that i just needed more from them, passion, or anger, or anything !!!
This book was a solid romance, no heart stopping angst, no big mountains to over come, but two people who loved each other on a long straight highway !!

I think I enjoyed this book more than the first one mainly because their relationship was already established so there was no need for setup, but also because I was skim reading from the start.

This book mainly focuses around the couple dealing with the bands new hotshot agent who starts sexually harassing the heroine. I thankfully don't have any personal experience with this topic but I think the author did a good job with the heroine's pov through this. This guy says and does things that are inappropriate and make her uncomfortable but these things can come across as harmless to the point where the heroine feels like she's overreacting. She even acknowledges that when you say it out loud how this guy said some stuff and gave her a look, it does sound ridiculous but that doesn't change how it makes people feel.

I also like how the hero and heroine communicate with each other and never keep things from each other. When the agent locks the heroine in a bathroom and threatens her and then tells her to keep this interaction to herself, she's like fuck that and immediately tells her husband so they can come up with a solution together. I also really like that even though they know the police can't do anything they still report it so that they have a paper trail.

Outside of this main plot I thought the book was fine and just like the last one the worst I can say is that it gets boring sometimes. I also feel like the author writes about things that go nowhere and have no relevance to the story.

I didn't like this one as much

I felt frustrated by Jack, he was a fairly gentle dude in the first one and he is a bit more alpha in this one. Unfortunately "alpha" can across as quick tempered and unreasonable. Jack's behaviour towards the end and with the detective was shameful. I really liked his character in the first book but in this one he needed a slap.

The other gripe I had was the terrible proofreading. There are spelling mistakes, typos and even a note the author clearly wrote as a prompt for a plot decision (it says 'maybe should attend with a therapist' or something like that). I don't enjoy reading a book that has been rushed and not finished properly. It shows little consideration for the readers.

There was a font from what was supposed to be a newspaper article that was all swirly and scripty - why? It wasn't handwritten? It was uncomfortable to read in the entire page with paragraphs. An old typewriter style may be been better. It certainly would have been for my eyes.

I've still given this book 3 stars because while I had my gripes, it wasn't terrible. There was a nice plot to it. But it just felt a bit after-thoughty

𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐮𝐩! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫!

The second installement in the Turn It Up Series has me screeching & my jaw hanging open. Still Her is the continued story of Jack & Mayzie and damn they continue to have me swooning & wishing i was Mayzie!

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝.”

The suspense and drama that laces this book only hightens how determined and devoted Jack is towards Mayzie! Urgh please can all men be like Jack.

The douch-gate element to this series literally had my heart racing and trying to turn pages quicker than i could friggin read. Mayzie is one hella a fierce firecracker and damn which Jack at her side they are 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.

There romance & chemistry is still real, raw and passionate and that friggin ending has me 𝐬𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬.I may have squealed at the ending whilst smiling like a chesire cat!!

"𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞,

I Loved this second book in the Turn it Up series by Natalie Parker.
We are back with Mayzie and Jack,3 years later the Rockstar life is well underway and we learn how they are dealing with the success of the band and unwanted interest from outside influences.
I adored Jack and Mayzie ,I loved the way they loved eachother and thier passion and dedication to their relationship, even when it was threatened.
This story is addicting and compelling I could not put it down,Natalie's writing had me captivated until the end.
An enjoyable, Romantic and Riveting Rockstar read that I highly recommend

**3.5**

I don't want to say too much and give spoilers from book one but this one was a bit different for me. While I still had all the sweet and lovey dovey vibes from Jack and Mayzie, the issue with the agent was too depressing. While I still felt their love and devotion I felt bummed out too much with what they were going through. Felt it was dragged out too much. But I also loved that we got more of more of Mayzie and Jack because I wasn't ready to be done with them after See Her. It was a tad bit depressing but I still loved it and if you read See Her would recommend that you read this one too.

Still Her (Turn it up book 2) By Natalie Parker
5/5 stars
🐝******************************🐝
I really enjoyed this book. It takes place three years after See Her. I think it shows a side to the music industry that we don’t talk about that much. The darker side of becoming famous. Jack and Mayzie remind me of Tyler and Jenna Joseph. Jenna is always at the Twenty One Pilot concerts to help support Tyler and the band and Mayzie is just like that. This was a super fast romance read that I loved and was hooked on from the start.

stellar sequel

After just finishing the Arc for the second version of See Her I dived right into this one. Now I want more. I think what I loved most about this and the plot was how realistic it was written of how woman tend to think when a man or anyone makes them feel uncomfortable. We often think I’m looking too much into this or I should feel like this over a little flirting ext. but what made it even better was Jake standing firm in telling her he stands by her no matter the cost. But loved the ending and now I’m reading another in the series

Having read See Her and absolutely loving every word of it I was excited to read the next in the series, this did not disappoint, was fantastic. Jack and Mayzie are back along with the rest of the boys from Turn It Up. Having signed with a new PR company they soon realise that not everything is as it seems and he has his sights set on Mayzie. This book has everything, romance, suspense and Jack and Mayzie’s absolute devotion to each other, cannot wait for more in this series, just brilliant.

I was so excited to be able to read this story. Loved the first book and the second one is just as good, if not better. The storyline is superb and keeps you interested from page one. It’s also one that must be told and is done beautifully by the author in my opinion. Especially with characters that have you hooked from their intro. Cannot wait to read more, which I hope comes sooner than later!!!

After 3 years Turn It Up are now a famous rock band with a tour of their own. Both, Jack and Mayzie have successful careers and are recognisable celebrities. Their marriage is stronger, they seem to have found the perfect balance between tour and personal life and as always we see how Jack worships Mayzie and shows us his unconditional love for her.
So, this is the interesting thing with this book. We’ve got a baddie...Oh yes! It adds a tension and suspense and shows us how, unfortunately, show businesses sometimes works.
So this new guy is trying to get Mayzie, and this is were Jack will show us his alpha, over the top protective side and the love and sacrifices Mayzie is willing to do for Jack and the band.

It was great to see all the side characters too, the family, band mates, the dogs and that annoying, tell-tale little brother Ian.

I loved the book, and that epilogue!!! I’m guessing we might be getting a third book? Looking forward to it.

Omg!! I loved the second book in this series!!
Mayzie and Jack's story continues and it keeps getting better and better. They are living their best lives until trouble strikes... and not only is it closer than is comfortable but also could have ramifications on the band.
I'm so excited that the series will continue with another of the band members!!!
I definitely recommend this series!!
I received an ARC for my honest review.

One of my new favourite series!

Gosh , just wow. This story was absolutely brilliant from the start to the end. The love between Mayzie and Jack really knows no bounds and seeing them fight their way through this make or break situation was painful but so amazing when they made it through. This book was real and raw and beautifully written. I couldn't put it down and I'm so glad I read it!

As soon as I finished reading See Her I had to pick this one up next! I was so happy to jump right back into this world with these characters! Just like with the first book I was pulled in from the prologue which I loved! With every page turn I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next in Mayzie and Jack's journey!

So here's the thing about this one. It's a lot better than the first one, it had stuff to actually read in it, I felt a little more emotions from it. The only thing that drives me nuts about this book is how the author ends a lot of chapters with an ellipsis. I'm finding as I read more and more books in my lifetime that ellipsis are my pet peeves.

Still her

What a perfect title for this book. I swear I’m obsessed with these characters! I could read a whole series about just these two!!!

Mayzie and Jack have something special that’s for sure. Natalie definitely made me fall in love with them and the people in their lives. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

This series is delightful!! I feel like I have read so many disappointing books lately. This one was just how I like them. Real, deep love with characters who are loyal. The face outward challenges but not doubts about each other like so many romances. Really great. Read it.

I liked this second installment a lot more than the first. The plot revolving around the music industry equivalent of the Harvey Weinstein case and the ensuing Me Too effect was inspiring and provided a nice structure beyond the continuation of the live story.
