We always feel guilty and sorry for the things that we did that are not quite right or seemingly wrong. In the story, the four boys, being silly children as they are, did all the right things to make amends for all the temper and anger that they have caused to the old man. Making amends to your fellows is a very good sign of being sensitive and brave.

The children in the story are what children should do in life; slowly realizing the bad and the wrongs in their actions. After they did all the best they could, the old man still explained to them that being angry towards them is just for fun. The best characteristics are really shown in this book, and Greentoes is one of the outstanding children’s books that I have read my entire life.

Helping someone is a choice, and I also believe that if we help, there should be no rules or exemptions. In this book, helping someone in need should be necessary no matter how different they are than the rest of the members of the community. They all left their differences behind when they helped the poor old man and his wife during the calamity. Helping should always be like this, with no bias and judgments. Helping someone can go a long way, and we should not think about the differences between ourselves and the people that are beneficiaries of our help. Greentoes gave us an example that one can survive trials in life if there are people who are willing to help no matter what. All of us will always need help in this life, and helping one another will always make the burdens easier.

Pray for the good and bad days because this will guarantee you a meaningful and well-lived life. Life is a roller coaster ride, and that makes it more fun and challenging. The accident that took place in the story is a blessing in disguise because this ignited the friendship of the young kids and the old man.

See? We should always be thankful for the bad days because there will always be a prize in the end. And besides, we do not have problems in this world that we cannot solve. We just have to keep searching and keep on living because giving up is not an option.

The book made an unexpected turn of events, and it made me warm as a reader to read such bonding of two different kinds of people that came from different generations.

A small, random act of kindness can change someone’s mood in an instant. Kindness can go a long way. Being kind to everyone you meet is understanding that all of us have battles we fight and scars that we hide.

In this book, kindness is shown everywhere. For instance, when the children and the rest of the community helped the old man and his wife and most importantly, the time when the old man confessed that he just wants to play with the children and the children befriended the old man and included him into the group. Kindness is such a powerful characteristic to have, and if all of us are kind enough to understand one another, life would be easier and lighter.

This is a fun read with a nice twist at the end. The good in us all comes out in the end.
