While I liked the premise of this book, my review copy was full of problems. I reported these to the author so, hopefully, she can fix them. The main gist of the tale is that a crowned princess has been living as a peasant with no memories of her real identity. There are some who know who she really is, but as her looks were changed using magic, no one else recognizes her. Now, something is about to happen that requires her to remember who she really is. Unfortunately, that is not going to be easy to orchestrate.

Slow and nice..yawn
I felt this book could be condensed into half its length and still tell the story. The underlying theme where a hidden princess with amnesia must save the world was just not exciting. While it is consistently written well, the story drags and just has the overwhelming feeling of innocence and naivety that's suits a preteen audience. In short its a nice book bit will not keep you riveted to the page.

Good start to this series. Intriguing details, interesting characters and a bit of excitement. Moira is coping with a loss, increased responsibilities and nothing in her life is what she thought. There are secrets and questions she needs answered if she is going to find her true purpose and protect those around her!!.

Book one and this is fantastic. Moira has lived her life unaware that her memories have been altered and everything including her family is a lie. Set in a dystopian style world, the author does an incredible job with the world building, with pulling you and getting you hooked as we join Moira on her journey to discover herself, to find out who she really is.

The Mark of Chaos, by author K.N. Lee, is the first installment in the author's Legend of the Empire of Embers. 3 weeks ago, Moira's older brother Eden died. He was the family hunter. Her father was apparently a weapons engineer for the Empire. Moira still uses some of his weapons today. But, after being caught poaching in a wrong area, Moria suddenly becomes the most wanted person in the Empire. This book is only 103 pages long. Therefore, there is absolutely no world building. The narrator is absolutely unreliable due to circumstances entirely the fault of Moira. So, we as readers have to deal with secondary characters like Ian who is supposedly her best friend, as well as a Prince from the Pacific Isles who is supposed to be her betrothed. Ian and the Prince are the ones who have to fill in the blanks for both readers, as well as Moira who has had to sell her hair in order to make a living and support her family. Moira is supposed to be so powerful, that she has know that the Darkness is coming. Now, she may be the only one who can defeat it.
Will I read the sequel? Uhm, not sure.

The author has brought to life another epic fantasy adventure full of action and some amazing characters. Moira is the crown princess of the empire and has been hidden within the Empire of Embers, safe from the clutches of her evil uncle who usurped the throne. So many secrets are revealed when Moira gets her memories back. This first book introduces the main characters and the reasons why Moira lost her true memories and her kingdom. A very entertaining storyline with a dash of romance. I loved it!

This is the first book in the new Legend of the Empire of Embers series and it was absolutely amazing!! I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, it flowed smoothly, and kept me fascinated throughout and turning the pages. This story is one of fantasy, intrigue, and adventure and an entertainingly great read. I definitely recommend this book you won't be disappointed!!!

An action packed and full of adventure story, with an original plot, intriguing characters, excellent world building and amazing plot twists. The first in a new series, "The Mark of Chaos" is one of those reads that grab you from the start and keep you glued to your e-reader's screen. If you like epic fantasy, then you should give this book a try.

What an interesting and exciting story for Moira loaded with twists for this strong female lead. Even though she feels she is fumbling through this messed up life of hers you can see her real strength. I can’t wait to read the next book.

This first book in a new series is full of action and adventure as Moira battles to survive and ends up learning things about herself. It was entertaining and fun to read just to see what happened next. It kept me glued to the end.

Mark of Chaos by K.N. Lee is a wondweful story to read. This is a wonderful start to a brand new series that I have loved reading and I can not wait for book two to come out in this series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and Sci-Fi.

This is such an imaginative story that holds your attention throughout.
The characters are very complex and the plot is also well thought out.

The story kept me glued to the pages to see how everything would turn out. I loved the characters and had this read in one sitting. I would highly recommend this read.
