The Royal Omegas #2

His Defiant Omega

Rate this book
A defiant omega will make this alpha soldier break all his rules...

The Badlands are in trouble. Someone has been abducting omegas, and the King Alpha has tasked one of his most trusted soldiers to bring them back.

Dagger is my biggest enemy. An alpha that I can't – won't – trust. I insist on joining the mission to keep him in line. But even being the queen's sister doesn't make my job any easier.

Working with my enemy proves harder than I expected. But when Dagger opens his heart and reveals a secret he always meant to keep from me, my hatred of him turns to a much more dangerous emotion. Desire.

Now I'm not sure who the real enemy is, or whether or not the man I've hated for so long is actually the key to my future.

This is the second book in this wonderful series and we met Tavia and Dagger in the first book this is their story

Dagger has a checkered past and consequently he feels he isn't entitled to Tavia love even though he knows she is his mate but when she comes into heat that drives all of his thoughts out of his head he has to keep her near him and keep all others from her he goes into super protection mode. Tavia also has her own problems in life things are definitely changing and her brother the king has tasked her with helping the badlands but when he confesses his past to her she doesn't walk away she stands there right beside him. Can a wolf shifter with a past have a queens sister You will have to read to see

I liked book 2 of the series as we continue the story of the divided kingdom. In this segment of the story, we get to find out what is happening to the omegas that have been disappearing from the Badlands. The queen's sister, Tavia, is determined to join the soldiers traveling to the human city in search of the missing wolves. The leader of the expedition, Dagger, was the alpha General in charge of the Badlands and Tavia doesn't trust him to bring back the missing omegas. Little does she know that Dagger has a secret that makes him the perfect man for the job, but she is about to find out when he must protect her from everyone, including their own soldiers.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Love and loyalties. Dagger tries to rise above his needs, but how do you fight a mate in heat!!?? I loved that Dagger gave into their needs, but remained protective of her and her best interests. I liked how these omega women have the mindset of an alpha- fierce and strong. The king learns some hard truths and must face them- that showed integrity and strength. He finally did the right thing, but not without much coercion! Changes coming! I liked Daggers true loyalties- his mate and their future! Looking forward to the next book.

Interesting and unexpected

Tavia and Daggers story was interesting, attention grabbing, and had unexpected twists that kept me on my toes. I completely loved it, and can’t wait for book 3. These Omega women are brutally headstrong, unwilling to consider a different path once they’ve started on their current one. The Alpha/Royal males are equally headstrong and difficult, so reading about these pairings is a definite source of entertainment!

His defiant Omega

Dagger is the kings General and looks over the badlands. When omegas become missing he doesn't say anything but when the king finds out he denotes Dagger and makes him find the missing omegas and bring them back. Tavia is Zelene's sister. She doesn't really trust that dagger will do what he's told and makes sure she is going as well but, when her heat starts Dagger is there to protect her. Can he truly be her mate? Great read.

This Series Lures You in Like A Month to A Flame...

At first try you almost shrug, unimpressed. As the first hit of P. Jameson and Kristen Strassel's The Royal Omegas series "His Forbidden Omega" is stunted and a bit disappointing. However, there's enough bite to the plot to spark intrigue within, leave you wanting but not hooked enough to be all in. Nonetheless there is enough punch in the first taste that now you're curious. Curious enough to make you come back again for a second dose.

But this second time around you're offered something stronger, more pure and unadulterated than before. This time with, "His Defiant Omega", the authors sink you far deeper into their dystopian wolf pack universe. And before you know it your swirling, heartstrings deep, into all that is Luxoria. Strung out on Dagger and Tavia like a kid on birthday cake...

And now, as I lick the remains of this second dose from my lips, I understand some of the writing choices of the first. I still don't care for them all, but, they make far more sense. Because this one, this second installment of five, is far improved in pacing, steeped far deeper in emotion and need, and laced far tighter with angst, doubt, mistrust, and uncompromising resistance.

This one, this story of Dagger and Tavia. Dagger being a high ranking alpha general in King Adalai's army. A general fighting to retain his place among the elite, but also hiding secrets that could unravel his world and all those around him, plunging them all deeper into chaos. And Tavia, an omega and older sister to Queen Zelene. A strong, courageous omega in her own right. An omega who has spent her entire life on the front lines of war, fighting tirelessly to improve the lives of all her omega counterparts. An omega that hates Dagger for his role in their collective misery.

It is a feverish march toward a plethora of unknowns. A march toward war with the humans. A march toward the truth about the mutant wolves. A march toward an uncertain, potentially perilous outcome for Luxoria itself. With Dagger and Tavia in the center of it all.

It is a relentless push forward past the story of the first book. An expansion of the larger plot unfolding piece by torturously slow piece. One that gives tiny, yet critical bits of information that clarify the foundation set out by book one, while also being a beautiful journey of discovery, redemption, and forgiveness for Dagger and Tavia.

And while this book still felt rushed and unnecessarily stunted in parts. It was not nearly as so as the first. And gave far more suspense riddled, love tortured fodder that kept you glued to each page. A big improvement over the first, so where I was initially skeptical, I now can't wait to move onto the next installment!

" Se si fosse fidata di me così tanto... se si fosse impegnata con me, per una vita al mio fianco...
Avrei abbandonato tutto il resto del mondo e mi sarei inchinato ai suoi piedi. Non ci sarebbe stato nessun Re, per me. Nessun regno o titolo. Niente avrebbe avuto la mia lealtà, nessuno a parte il suo cuore. L’avrei posseduto. Adorato. Avrei consacrato la mia vita per farlo.
Tutto sarebbe stato differente.
Mi sarei innamorato perdutamente come Adalai, senza nemmeno combattere."

A HEA with an open ending...

What a story! More world building, more intrigue, more unanswered questions.

A great story between the H&h. Not as much back story about the couple as you get in other books, but the way they resist each other and the tension between them is exquisite.
I'm anxious to see what happens in the next book.

The story was fine, just not for me

I don’t want to give a negative review, but this story didn’t grab me. The story itself was fine, the characters and the enemies had their place. It just missed a mark for my taste. However if you enjoyed the first book you probably will enjoy this book too.

More Interesting

Okay, book 2 was a more comfortable read with a clearer picture. I am so enjoying these books and the dynamics between the Royals and the Omegas. Normally they are portrayed as weakly servants. The series shines a new light on them and the things they endure for the safety of the underdog.

Meh. I feel like I enjoyed the first one better. I was looking forward to getting back to this series. This was just lacking. Very little substance to move the series forward much. Just boring, no real action.
I found Tavia and Charlet annoying on some level. I’m not going to continue the series as I don’t really care about what is happening in the story nor with the characters.

Firecracker Firecracker

This read was awesome! As thus story continues to keep with the plot: the division is growing wider. Changes is not easy nor is making it happen when o.Eva's are being taken and used as experiments. The humans are offering power and good things ,but is it real....hmmmm lets keep reading.... Next!😀
These ladies together tell an awesome story.

His Defiant Omega

Something wasn't right with the men they met at the human keep. I can't wait to read the next book to see what unfolds. Dagger and Tavia fought a lot but they were perfect for each other.

Good and enjoyable read

Good book to read if you want to relax for a afternoon. The plot lines are good but not extraordinary. Reading the previous book in the series is not required, but I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed that this book picks up right where the first one left off. It makes sense the slightly rushed feel for the first since each book really does tell the entire story. I love Dagger and Tavia. I love how their bond forms and I can’t wait to continue with this series.

Good read

Good story line. The series definitely needs to be read in order though because if you don’t, some things that are happening won’t make sense. Also, this is intended for mature readers only because the sexual interactions detailed and erotic

Good story and I definitely like Dagger much better in this book than the first. Daggers disbelief in his own ability to affect change was just a huge excuse to not do better in my opinion but he stood up for the omega in the end.

Good

I enjoyed this book and series so far! Tavia and Dagger's story was about admitting your faults and atoning for them. Not only the main characters of this story but also the King himself. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Good enough, I've read #1 and #2 now, not sure if I'll continue this series. But then I also like a quick read from time to time.

Better than book 1

I liked Tavia and Dagger's story better than the King and Zelene. It was nice to understand exactly why Dagger was such a jerk face. I am really interested in finding out what the humans are really up to. I will be reading the next book and I fully recommend this series

Awesome read

Dagger and Tavia have quite a lot in common but can they come together and help? The Alphas and Omegas need each other and working together is the only thing that will help. Awesome read.
