"Powerful enough to fascinate even the most ardent skeptic and raise goosebumps on the arms of the believer...Profound." TOPEKA CAPITAL-JOURNAL Written by bestselling authors Dr. Melvin Morse and Paul Perry, TRANSFORMED BY THE LIGHT proves that those who return from the brink of death are profoundly changed for the better--spiritually and physically--for the rest of their lives, and that these documented changes provide deeper peace and understanding for all who come in contact with them. Inspirational and deeply compassionate, this book will change the way you think about the mysteries of life and death.
I picked up this book in the used books at the library because I love to read about people's Near Death Experiences (NDE's). This book attempts to scientifically analyze all the similar and different components of the NDE. The author maintains a scientific approach throughout the book although he does call the experiences spiritual. My belief is that dying is a totally spiritual experience and this was the case in nearly all the NDE's people related to the author. His focus was to study the effect of the NDE and how it changed the people for the rest of their life, even if they didn't realize it, and most didn't. The people who had experienced an NDE tend to live life with more zest, be more generous, kind and forgiving and almost all lost any fear they had of dying. They all know that dying is peaceful and the next life is something they look forward too, many didn't want to return here once they were in heaven. Would I love to have an NDE? I think it would be wonderful to have that insight but I'm not too excited about having a near fatal accident or heart attack or something that would land me in the hospital.
Near-Death experiences (NDEs) are for some an intrinsic truth and for others just fantasies and vivid imagination. The book discusses many explanations and proves through a carefully executed study. What I personally found very interesting is the hypothesis that NDEs changes peoples electromagnetic field in such a way that they are transformed and healed. The author believes that this transformation and healing is specifically connected to all those NDEs who saw "the light". A very interesting book that hopefully will help to acknowledge this phenomenon. I believe it is especially important that doctors become more aware and open to discuss this topic without preconception.
The title says it all. It's very readable, some scientific info is in the appendix at the back. Lots of stories from ordinary people about their experiences as adults and the transformations they have gone through. Also childhood experiences are included. The negative reactions they've received when they told their stories have been included. A very interesting book on a subject which often dismissed as fantasy or hallucinations.
can change your attitude about death and make dying less stressful for onlookers and the dying. It also allows you to help those in stressful situations like that.
A somewhat more scientific book than the last one. Still, I dislike being lectured about interviews with folks who have died. No one, by definition, has ever died and lived to talk about it. Once you have died, you are permanently gone from this sphere. At least, that has been my observation.
