It’s not cheating if he sets her up with his best friend

Kelly has finally admitted her feelings for Joe, the construction worker who rocks her world as part of their friends-with-benefits arrangement. They are officially a couple now, but the sailing is far from smooth.

Kelly’s religious family has excommunicated her for failing to repent from her “sinful lifestyle.” Joe does his best to comfort her but doesn’t feel like he’s truly successful until he enlists the help of his roommate, Rico, who has been enjoying the “friends” part of Kelly while Joe’s been getting the “benefits.”

Does Rico have a place in their arrangement, or is he destined to watch from the outside as Joe and Kelly forge a relationship without him?

Mira dreams of a life where hairy-chested, foul-mouthed pool men serve cocktails while she reads in the embrace of a shady hammock. Her reality looks more like errands, carpooling, sneaking in writing time when she can, and snuggling with her husband and kids after a regular-old day in the Pacific Northwest.

Sex is sacred. It’s also fun. That’s why Mira writes smut with feeling. In her perfect world, every woman who wants it would have access to entertaining, titillating, thought-provoking stories in an environment free of shame.

Some gals like new shoes as a reward for a job well done. Mira prefers reviews and comments from readers. As long as they have arch support.

I have been waiting for this installment of Mira Stanley’s Dirty Minds serial. These characters have found their way into my heart. It’s not your typical love story. It features Kelly, who was brought up in a very religious household who is finding her own way without the blessing of her family. She is dating Joe, the tattooed, construction worker who is definitely not what is expected and they are perfect together. Each compliments the other and their relationship is strong. Rico lives with Joe, and he is enamored with Kelly…and Joe. But there is more to these three than just the passion between them. The story is emotionally charged, sensual, and deals with deeper issues in a compassionate way. There is a surprising twist I didn’t see coming, and I can’t wait to see how Stanley plays it out in the next installment.

Sean Crisden has been narrating the episodes and it’s fantastic. This man can voice all three characters so easily! He gives each a distinct voice, an original personality and lets us fall into their lives. I loved it and am so happy he keeps the consistency going. Looking forward to the book #6!

4/5 stars

This last installment would have had a higher rating if it showed one fantasy at the end of Rico’s. Besides that I truly enjoyed this series for a fast read. It had just the right amount of connection between the characters with a lot of smut and romance.

All the stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Holy smokes folks!!! Just wow!!! So freakin good. I’ve been chomping at the bit for a while now ever since we first got an inkling of a three some forming. I was totally stoked that Kelly finally put her big girl pants on and chose Joe over her family’s wishes. Because Joe rocks!!! Oh boy does he! But Rico is also so amazing. He’s just so lovable and cute and a total softy.
Mira Stanley’s writing is top notch and her series is only getting better. I love how complex her characters are. I think it’s so important to understand and be aware that we are constantly changing. Maybe not at a rapid pace, maybe it’s been a slow and steady process. But our wants and desires change over time. For instance, what we might have liked or thought we’d never be into at nineteen can be completely different once we’re in our thirties, just an example of how it’s stupid to try to hold ourselves to such a narrow way of thinking and living before we really get a grasp on who we are. And then punishing ourselves for not being the same person we thought we were. We’re constantly changing.
So I loved how in this volume, it wasn’t only Kelly becoming more aware and open minded to these new revelations and wanting to be true to herself and see where it could possibly go but also Joe is coming around to the idea that maybe Rico is good for their budding relationship. Like at first it was a game of sorts, but now something else is taking root. And not just in his mind, but possibly somewhere deeper like his ❤️? Was that like a major spoiler? Whoops, sorry.
Anyway, the plot thickens. We get some steamy steamy scenes with our favorite ménage plus some more honest to good open communication. Thank you 🙏. Oh and more familial drama coming from Olympia. My goodness, this family is too much!!! Hoping for this to get resolved. But also get some inside looks into Rico and Joe’s family too. Like, is Joe‘s mom ok? And everything that’s gone down had taken place in one month? My mind is blown, lol. Looking forward to volume six. Can’t wait. Oh and her new post apocalypse series Men of Eagle Peak is a must read!!!! Do yourself a favor and get it.

Omg the heat! I need more of Joe and Rico.

This was so wow. First, the heat was burning in this one. Joe is opening up to feelings for roommate and his girlfriend Kelly. Their games and fantasies are also starting to include Rico. And the feelings for all three are becoming undeniable.

Kelly's family is still an issue but I did not see the twist with her father coming. Wowza!

Can't wait for the next one.
