If One Passionate Night Doesn't Turn These Rivals To Lovers... Than Maybe Having A Baby Will
Matt is an ambitious man yet always falls short when he's pitted against the rugged Jackson on various assignments for work.
Time and time again Jackson comes out on top, driving Matt crazy.
What drives Matt crazier is that he just can't get this man out of his mind.
After a night out drinking and an explosive argument, passion rages between the two men. When Matt awakes the following morning he finds that everything has changed.
Jackson left him a gift, one that will take Matt a long time to understand.
Jackson has a secret, one that he's protected for all his life.
One moment of weakness ties he and Matt together in ways that Matt can't even imagine. Jackson has to return to his clan, to a life he thought he had left behind a long time ago.
But how long can he keep the secret from Matt? And what will Matt do when he finds out the truth? With their romance on the line the two men have to fight together instead of against each other.
Matt and Jackson work together. Where? Doing what? Who knows because it's never mentioned. Jackson always comes out on top though because he's getting help from co-workers; while Matt works hard and always comes in last. This makes Jackson a jerk IMO! Matt decides he's letting his work life consume him, so he decides to go out with some co-workers on a Friday night. When Matt gets to the bar, he goes up to the bartender and orders a whiskey on rocks. When paying he "pulls out a dollar and hands it to the bartender" and the bartender smiles back at him. Really!!! In the modern world where this book is set; where are you getting a whiskey on rocks for a dollar, giving no tip to the bartender and getting a smile from the stiffed bartender? Not at all realistic! Matt is dragged onto the dance floor by a female co-worker who is convinced she's going to make him straight. After said co-worker rubs all over him and feels him up, Matt decides to go home. Jackson follows him out and they get into an intimate embrace, leading them to decide to go to Jackson's condo. There things are rushed. Jackson seems to have a monster size appendage yet only uses a little bit of saliva to prep Matt and goes right at it. Not realistic! On Monday Matt goes to work and is snubbed by Jackson. Jackson is definitely a jerk! Matt's already getting ill and within a few days Jackson takes him to see a Dr, confirming Matt is pregnant. Jackson takes him home to get info on men getting pregnant and it's glossed over. After 1-2 days in the village Matt goes into labor that lasts 2 weeks. So at this point the baby's gestation is less than a month but he's fully formed and healthy. Not realistic even for wolves!
Pros: None
Cons: Where to start?!? This book is riddled with grammar, punctuation and spelling errors. It reads as if a teenager wrote it and a teenager edited it. The book is written in paragraphs that are separated by double spacing and there isn't much fluidity between the paragraphs. It reads likes thoughts were just put down on paper, without anything connecting them, throughout most of the story. The men are spraying on aftershave? Was this confused with Cologne or body spray because aftershave is patted on the face, not sprayed. As previously mentioned the $1.00 whiskey on rocks? Jackson is described as being good looking, yet in one place it's said that he has leathery skin. Wow! Near the end of the book Jackson is spewing out Meatloaf quotes about love. I thought I might vomit. There is nothing I can recommend about this book. Thank goodness I got it free or I would have returned it even for the 0.99 cents.
Note to author: Take a writing class because this tripe was hard to get through! Not pleasurable at all!
This reads as though it was simply thrown together, from a minimal outline for a story. Almost all events are immediate, very little is planned ahead of time, and there is no sense of time passage or plot development. Little to no character development.
Take this thrill ride that has been gifted to us. Again Van Cole has given us a tantalizing tale that will pull you in and have you holding your breath hoping and praying for a happy ending. Again I must say that I wish it was a little bit longer and not so rushed. But it was another great story by Van Cole that I can read over and over.
Not a fully developed story. Missing a lot of details that are needed to make the story make sense. Not a bad plot/ idea for a story, but it felt very rushed.
It started with a good premise and the relationship was developing well in the beginning but just felt too rushed. That being said, if there is a sequel...I will read it.
A quick read with fast paced story and insta love. It’s cute, funny and uses every bit of your imagination. I liked it for the most part just wish for more background on some of the side characters.
Their relationship was alright, but I felt like it could have been developed a ton more. The two often felt like awkward friends rather than lovers and the plot was pretty mundane. It was alright overall just nothing majorly interesting or unique.
this was a fast paced story.. ill admit there were spots i was a tiny bit confused because i felt like we were missing something.. but overall i really enjoyed it.. and the characters.. and im glad i read it
MM. Matt and Jackson are rivals at work but Matt has a crush on Jackson. The relationship develops very quick. The time line does not make sense from when they go see the clan and onward.
