But Three Lakes - and Brady - hold a magic of their own and Corey soon finds himself at a crossroads. New opportunities abound - including love - if only he is brave enough to hold onto them.

Unfortunately, Corey’s been in trouble before - the kind of trouble that could put Brady's career in jeopardy. So, even if Three Lakes is the perfect place for a new start, staying could put everyone in danger. Brady says he’s willing to risk it all, but will that still be true when he finds out the dark truth that Corey has been hiding?"

I enjoyed this one way more than the first. Still a whirlwind, but the characters were better matched and more believable.

WORDS CAN HURT

Brady, a deputy of Three Lakes, meets Corey, a runaway who has just dumped his boyfriend. They become friends and Corey is at a crossroads in his life as whether to stay with Brady or leave Three Lakes. Sasha has written a great book on misconception of words and anger. Sasha also shows great strength in her characters.

I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I read the last page.

It seems weird to say that this was an enjoyable book, considering that one character has some pretty serious skeletons and issues to sort through, but I did enjoy listening to this book and felt very much invested in the story. Like the previous book in the series, it requires an ability to suspend one's disbelief a tad at points, and it is a bit soap opera like at times as well, but all the same, I enjoyed it. And despite the serious subject material, I also found myself laughing out loud at times.
Both Corey and Brady are highly likeable. Brady is basically The Perfect Man. I mean, whatever flaws he might have, like having a bit of a hero complex, are extremely minor. Corey's chock full of issues and so doesn't always make the best decisions or reach the best conclusions, but he definitely could've made worse decisions and reacted worse when making incorrect conclusions. At one point, I was absolutely sure that there was going to be a Big Misunderstanding that was going to be a catalyst for a plot twist, and I was SERIOUSLY annoyed - but I was wrong. So look at me & my own bad jumping to conclusions.
This book did have some issues with the timeline. It started off with one, actually, since it picked up exactly where the previous book left off, (but from a different point of view) - but gives a previous event's time frame a different amount of time. Later, it describes an event in the previous book as happening at a different time too. Also, Corey's life story seemed to have inconsistent timeline issues. BUT I decided to just roll with it, letting my exasperation slide off, because I wanted to know how everything would turn out, the actual story/plot being more important.
I enjoyed the audio book narration completely. It was not earth shatteringly amazing, but it was good.

COREY - Introduced at the end of book one while having a bad argument with his soon to be ex-boyfriend. Left with nothing as he is left in a town where he doesn't know anyone and no money. Brady witnesses the intense argument and steps in and offers to help the young man, which he initially refuses. Circumstances changed his mind and he is forced to take the offer of the mother-in-law cottage.

BRADY - Introduced at the beginning of book one, is the sheriff who comes to Corey's rescue and offers to give him a place to lay his head. Somewhat sad ad sulking at the idea of having fewer prospects in Three Lakes with eligible gay men. He is lonely, but happily reminiscing at the unforeseen matchmaking he played a small role in between Ian and Nate. Who knew a broken down car could create a whirlwind romance?

Corey is a runaway and much younger than Brady, he is finding it harder to trust after what just recently happened with the last guy he trusted. Given Corey's colorful past, he could place Brady in danger of losing his career if all is revealed. Everyone welcomes Corey with open arms around town. Its small and friendly, so what else would they do? Becoming friends is hard enough but what will Corey do when the time presents itself? People seem to picture them as an adoring couple already. Will he leave Three Lakes or will he stay and make things work with Brady?

Its not easy for either one. Let us enjoy the ups and downs of the next HEA in Three Lakes.

It's not the bruises on the body that hurt.

It is the wounds of the heart & scars on the mind. ~Aisha Mirza
This book is tied for my favourite in this series. Corey really stole my heart from the beginning. I loved his sassy, colourful, guarded attitude. Brady was the perfect fit for Corey. He took time to break down all of his walls and was so gentle and patient with him. My favourite part was when Brady got a chance to kick Voldemort's ass (he who shall not be named lol). This plot had more suspense and definitely kept me on my toes. I was wondering when Corey was wandering around the town if Voldemort would catch him and how it would be dealt with. I also liked how the author kept the characters all tied together and frequent throughout the series even if they went from main characters to side.

These characters have a lovely storyline. It’s a sweet boy meets boy, boy helps boy get his life back on track. These two are great additions to the town. Excellent performance from Richard.

The insta love without knowing anything about the other guy just made me sad they seemed deprived of companionship and desperate.

I'm loving this series! Lots of great characters, nothing too heavy, and great narration. Sasha Goldie creates characters that are different from each other and shows how they come together into a sweet and sexy couple. There's not a lot of heat, but it's steamy enough! Richard Reynolds does a great job narrating and really fits the series well

Each can be read as a standalone since the characters from previous stories are not integral to the next.

I received an audio copy of this story in exchange for an unbiased review.

📒 This is a romantic, interesting and intense story. Brady is a cop who comes across two men arguing at a gas station. He offers help to the man who seems to be in trouble. Corey refuses his help, he just wants to get away from his drug runner boyfriend. After the bf leaves Corey realizes that his money is gone, he's stuck in a small town without any money to catch a bus or any way to pay for a room somewhere. Lucky for him Brady came back to check on him, and offered to bring him to the only b&b. When that didn't pan out Brady offered the mother-in-law cottage at his house and Corey accepts. Already attracted to each other, knowing they couldn't rush into anything, Brady walks in on something that revs them both up, but walks away. The next day Brady invites Corey to stay until he figured out his next move. They get closer the longer Corey stays, which scares him, but Brady is so sweet and kind and trusting that Corey really doesn't know if he wants to stay in the small town, or run away. The storyline is intense, but the people in the town go out of their way to make Corey feel welcome and wanted, and they think he and Brady are perfect for each other. The next book should be just as good as the first two, and hopefully we'll find out more about Tyler.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Sometimes, scars are proof that you survived to shine! Corey Davis is desperate when he's abandon by his abusive ex, John in an unknown town, with no money. Brady, an older man with no agenda, offers help. His job in LE and his Alpha mode kicks in and he wants to protect and care for Corey. It’s a step for both, but it’s a relationship built on committment and purpose. Corey still has secrets he hasn't shared with Brady, his last name being the least of it. It is a delight reading about trust forming and the willingness to take the risk. Will Corey's secrets harm the relationship? Can Corey resolve his past? Will they go the final steps to full trust? The characters Sasha creates are relatable and believable and capture your heart. Hope to hear Tyler's and Patrick, his CNA's story. Nicely done. I can't wait to read more. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

I think I have found one of my favorite new authors. I adore these stories and I was lucky enough to be able to read this one after Home Truths. Corey thinks Brady is a sexy silver fox. The sparks fly with each encounter and their respect and trust grows each day. The happiness each man has surrounds all those around them and brings joy. Who doesn’t love a man in uniform and Corey’s fantasy, let’s just say.....yummy.

Crossroads Book 2 in the Love in Three Lakes series was excellent. The author created a story that kept me, the reader glued to the book, wanting to know how the story continued to unfold.

Sasha Goldie grabs the reader from the beginning and provides the desirable interest of the reader before slowly providing pertinent information, which makes the reader yearning to know more.
Excellent story. There were a few minor issues that didn't necessarily for the flow of the story but, as suggested, they were minor.
I highly recommend this book!

This had me all in my emotions, and I loved every second of it. I love Brady...older, wiser, and totally Alpha. And I felt for Corey...abused, broke, and just at the end of his rope in every way. I found myself cheering them on, and clutching my chest at the same time. This was a fantastic read. I ready for the next one.

Good Sequel

We met Brady in the first story and then Corey was briefly introduced right at the end. Moving forward in book 2 it helps to have read book 1 but it’s not a requirement to follow this storyline. Decent character development and enough history to keep the story interesting. This book ends with the anticipated HFN and a promise for the future, plus an unexpected surprise.

The Cook!

Finding a man sitting at the Servo, in the cold, left alone, the Cop couldn't leave him sitting there.
Taking him home, giving him a room for the night sounded like heaven to the young man. They have a long way to go to be friends but its a story thst should be read. So looking forward to reading more in the series.
