Hina is a normal high school student with normal routine everyday. However, she has a recurring dream which by 17, she dismissed it as normal. One day, she was so sleepy in music class and her teacher was about to play an old record when there was a sun shower outside. Suddenly, she was awakened by a man in a garden of a big mansion. Is this another one of her dream?

As a character, there's nothing unique I'd say about Hina other than she's just a normal 17 years old girl, who're looking forward to dates, having clubs activities that she enjoyed...However, the back story of Hongo-san is quite interesting & give away a lot about him that I feel like I know him better than Hina herself.

I am intrigued to know more of the story. About Hina, Hinako, Hongo and what become of their relationship. I have an inkling feeling that Hinako is Hina's great-grandmother. And Hongo-san will give the necklace to Hinako when they're married which will inherit it to their daughter.

Hina is a 17 year old high school girl. One day, when she fell asleep in school, she travels back in time to year 1907. The first person she sees is a man named Hongo (a gentleman btw), the same man that has appeared in Hina's dream since childhood. Is this all meant to be?

Nel bel mezzo di una lezione di musica (durante la quale gli studenti stavano ascoltando delle registrazioni del periodo Meiji), Hina si ritrova trasportata nell'anno 1907, in piena epoca Meiji - le prime pagine del volume lasciano intendere che la nostra protagonista ha già avuto un'esperienza simile, ma in quell'occasione era solo una bambina e Hina l'ha considerato un semplice sogno. Ma questo non è un sogno. Ad accoglierla c'è Takaaki, erede della famiglia Hongô, che, con somma sorpresa della protagonista, sembra conoscerla, anche se continua a chiamarla Hinako - una ragazza che assomiglia in maniera impressionante alla nostra Hina, figlia di una famiglia altolocata e promessa sposa di Taakaki. Hina finirà catapultata in una realtà completamente nuova, un mondo lontanissimo dal suo e che ha visto solo in vecchi sceneggiati e nei libri di storia. A complicare ulteriormente la faccenda, c'è il fatto che Hinako si è innamorata di un altro e che quindi non ha alcuna intenzione di sposare Takaaki, mentre lui è più ben disposto. Resta da vedere come l'autrice deciderà di giocarsi la carta della somiglianza tra le due ragazze e quando Hina proverà a raccontare la verità sulla sua situazione a Takaaki.

Allora, questa serie mi è comparsa spesso su Instagram e quello che mi aveva catturato era sicuramente l'ambientazione storica, oltre allo stile dei disegni. E così ho recuperato i primi due volumi dell'edizione francese (anche se ho ancora la speranza di vederlo in italiano) e per ora sono soddisfatta. Siamo solo all'inizio e ci sono molte questioni rimaste in sospeso, tipo la vera natura della collana indossata da Hina, regalo della sua bisnonna e sicuramente legata ai viaggi nel tempo della protagonista. Sicuramente verrà fuori anche la storia del primo incontro tra i due, anche se solo Takaaki se lo ricorda e quell'esperienza ha influenzato i suoi sentimenti nei confronti di "Hinako" (nemmeno lui poteva immaginarsi di avere davanti una bambina arrivata dagli anni duemila).
Sono curiosa di vedere in che modo una ragazza moderna riesce ad ambientarsi in un mondo totalmente diverso, in cui tutte le tecnologie di uso quotidiano non ci sono, in cui le auto sono una novità riservata a pochi eccentrici. Voglio saperne di più sulla situazione delle famiglie coinvolte. E soprattutto spero che venga dato molto spazio ai pensieri di Takaaki: figlio dell'amante, si è ritrovato nella posizione di erede della famiglia Hongô per via dei problemi di salute (e della successiva scomparsa) del figlio legittimo, il fratello maggiore Hisanao. È evidente che il ragazzo è rimasto segnato da tutto questo, convive con il disprezzo della matrigna, e si porta dietro una sofferenza profonda. Voglio proprio saperne di più e vedere un po' come evolveranno le cose tra lui e Hina.
Insomma, come primo volume non mi è dispiaciuto e le premesse sembrano interessanti. Speriamo bene per il resto della storia 🤔

this was. so good?????

im already a sucker for historical romance AND time travel and this turned out to be the start of a perfect blend of both of them 😭❤️

i was a bit confused at first- when child!hina showed up at takaaki’s garden. but as the story progresses and we see how hina is just a very normal and energetic teenager in 21st century japan who dreams of the same dream whenever it rains since her childhood — & as she grew up, she didn’t paid much attention to this repetitive dream of hers.

one day while going to her school (the boring; the usual), during her music class, her teacher introduces to them some rare records. at the same time she notices a sun shower and gets transported(?) or sucked in(?) into a different time period. a different world entirely where she’s known as hinako.

and then she sees him again— takaaki!!!! oh!!! i love!!!! him!!!!! so much!!!!

he reminds me of levi so badly that i started fucking losing my mind (and barking). hes so 🤭‼️❤️🔫🥰😭

the part where her necklace (i literally need it it’s so fucking pretty OMG) was shown in kind of an… important way??? like maybe it’s because of it that she got transported back to time??? OMG I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

the small but very informative history lessons about 1907 japan were so cool. (my history-maniac brain is celebrating in joy).

let’s talk about the art style of this because???? this entire time i was only gawking at it and appreciating SUCH BEAUTIFUL ART STYLE THIS IS CRAZYSJEHD everything is just. so perfect with it. it’s like it scratches my brain in the right part and way omgashfseioedj🙏‼️

hina 🤝 hinako, not getting surprised when meeting their own carbon copies and dressing up the same way to confuse men and get things done (can’t you tell how adorable they are and i love them).

characters like hina, hinako, takaaki, hisanao, sadamitsu, taketora and hina’s grandmother — i would LOVE to know more about their background and storyline because it’s so so intriguing and interesting. like there’s so much more to these characters and i hope that we get to see it!!!

there were so many scenes which made me so teary eyes i just wanted to give the characters (esp takaaki) a big big hug :(( his relationship with his elder brother was just. 💔💔💔 (why do the eldest have to die wtf is this). all their moments were so heartbreakingly sad and precious at the same time. and the interactions btw hina and him?!?!?! 💳💥💳💥

the degisuki (doraemon) reference got me kicking my feet and giggling 😭😭😭 THAT WAS NOT EXPECTED FR

Zapowiada się obiecująco, dlaczego nie ma sprzedawanych mang po angielsku EXCUSE ME? Kreska jest śliczna, bohaterowie też. Motyw historical który bardzo lubię i o którym chętnie czytam też jest. Ich ubrania są prześliczne like whatt, nie mogę się napatrzeć( na głównego bohatera również). Jest to jedna z nielicznych dzieł w którym przenoszenie się w czasie nie przeszkadza a nawet intryguje( pewnie dlatego, że to w mandze a nie manhwie) A man who YEARNS? Spectacular, give me 14 of them RIGHT NOW.
