Superhero by Night #4

The Wraith: Danger Close

Rate this book

I may be super, but I'm no hero. I have one rule: If you're evil, you die. No trial, no judge, no mercy.

Madisun Dumas, aka The Wraith, is close to achieving her goals. She faked her own incarceration, now the government will leave her alone. She wiped out ISO-1 in South America and added their top man to her kill list... Then she found out who was really in charge...

An honest-to-God Alien. A creature called the Th'un who goes by the moniker, Mr. Axiom.

Taking on aliens is outside her wheelhouse and she knows it. There is only one person on Earth who can help her: Amelia Lockheart, the Full Metal Superhero.

There's a problem, though. Madisun's methods are a bit... extreme. Compared to Madi, Arsenal is a goody-two-shoes and working with her could cause a conflict Madisun doesn't want.

Can the cold-blooded killer of men work with the superhero who is used to saving lives, not taking them?

Or will the alien kill two birds with one stone?

If Madi can't make it work, getting along with the superhero community will be the least of her problems... the Th'un is out for revenge, and only every life on Earth will satisfy him.

Another great vigilante book in the author's superhero universe. I loved that it crossed over with the Full Metal Superhero series, but we still got mostly Madisun's POV and story. These books are quick popcorn reads that I equate to a good action movie. It isn't super deep, but it's a lot of fun to go through it.

One thing I like is that the author puts out short books in a short period of time. While I would happily read a 1,000 page tome, I love that there are so many books out in such a short period of time. Now I just have to wait a few weeks for the next one.

The plot was built on in every book, so I knew it was leading to something like this, and it was a nice conclusion to this part of Madisun's story. As usual, it was pretty straight forward, but it progressed nicely.

The action in this series just keeps getting better and better, and there were some really fun moments here. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I never get tired of reading about The Wraith destroying the bad guys in various creative and bloody ways.

Overall, it's another great installment of nonstop action and violence in a superhero setting. I loved the tie in, and I'm excited for more in the future.

Great book!

I accidentally read Arsenal’s 8th and 9th books first but it didn’t matter.
This series is solid and a great action story.
I like the crossover between Wraith and Arsenal.
Great job to the author. I recommend this series highly.

Yeah this one goes down on a list of really great books

Some metal superhero got me into this. My friend advised me to read the wraith books. This being the last one until more written I'm going back to the full metal superhero books book number nine. I've already read book number 8. Those have been excellent as well. Kudos to the author for leaving a fun story and still keeping it clean enough that I would let a teenager read it. Even a younger kid other than the violence really well done. And by the violent comment, I'm not asking you to ease up on it. These have been great. A lot of fun to read. Watching the bad guy get their do is always fun

that I have ever read. I am 79 and know a good book and or a good writer when I see one.

Forgettable. It's just more of the same. There is very little in the way of exposition or character growth. It's one action scene after another that can be skimmed or even skipped. The conclusion was lackluster and just didn't fit (She falls in love with a guy after a single brief date) the character.

Great, Brilliant and other Tributes

The big bad is going down ,as he has found himself in the sights of the Wraith and she means to make sure that nothing can stop her. Even the most super of heroes may have to step aside for this one or just help her despite misgivings.
Very very good story and a series i shall be keeping a keen eye on.

Wrath and Arsenal together for the first time

All of Jeffrey H. Haskell's books have never failed to entertain me, and this is one of the best yet. Going to be hard to wait for FMS 9!

Another fantastic book by Jeffery. I liked the interactions and the questions that arose while The Wraith and Arsenal worked together. I also liked that not all the characters in the book got along and it will be interesting to see how those interactions play out in future team ups.

I really enjoyed the team-up!

It was fun seeing Wraith and Arsenal team up, and to see how their two paths converged at the same alien menace. Glad to see the books keep coming, and the world keeps expanding.

A real edge of tbe seat action thriller

I love the pacing and the visuals. The series does an excellent job of keeping a reader engaged. Occasionally pridictable, but what super hero story isn't?

The action and adventure continues, loose ends are tied and there is some room for another book in the end.

A gem

Another good story with plausibility. Characters keep to their code and strictly within character. Great interaction and a nice tie up of loose threads. Well done.
