Muhammad (s): 11 Leadership Qualities that Changed the World

Rate this book
EACH OF YOU ARE A SHEPHERD AND EACH OF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIER FLOCK This profound statement by Prophet Muhammad (s) compels us to recognise that we are all leaders at some level. But what makes someone a good leader? And how does each and everyone of us measure up against the leadership standards set by the Prophet? This book presents a well researched leadership framework combined with extensively applied contemporary practitioner case studies for the first time to readers interested in a Sirah (prophetic life) based universal model for good leadership. Drawing upon scholarly findings from eastern and western sources, and having examined an extensive range of works on Sirah, an original framework of eleven prophetic leadership qualities are presented with an entire chapter devoted to each. Well known and lesser known events from the Sirah are explored and analysed like never before, and viewed with a specialist leadership lens, extracting insights on effective people management, authentic leadership and succeeding against the odds. Each chapter on leadership qualities offers not only what the quality means and where it can be found in the life of the Prophet, but how one can develop those qualities within themselves as well.

The author (may the Almighty have mercy on him) presents a well researched leadership framework combined with extensively applied contemporary practitioner case studies for the first time to readers interested in a Seerah based universal model for good leadership.

If you are into leadership based study, I highly recommend this book for you to read and apply into your life.

I wish this book had been released during my time in University, where I would have been able to apply this research into my course.

This is going to be my #1 most recommended book this year. This book is one that you can certainly sit down and finish in one day, but I'd highly recommend taking your time working through it and the prompts it poses for consideration.

Overall, this book is a seamless composition of Quran, Ahadith, historical figures (both Muslim and otherwise), as well as recent leadership best-practices. The author managed to combine what often seem like lofty, unachievable ideals into understandable and implementable concepts for leaders of all experience levels, capacities, and roles.

Unfortunately, the book lacks story telling structure, research methodology and sequencing. While the author certainly put a lot of effort into writing this book, it is my personal take that justice was not done to the ever tall personality and achievements of Prophet Muhammad. Certainly did not feel like it’s written with a non believer in mind. The presented case studies were full of authors own bias. Lacks academic depth necessary to cover the topic. Can this author improve ahead? Yes. Was this his best work? No.

The entire book is on one side, and the crime of not writing Sallallahu alayhi wasallam with the Prophet (s)'s name is on the other. I give ZERO star to this book. It is written to please the West by removing the salawaat on the Prophet (s) and writing God instead of Allah.

A very neat and important book. I loved the case studies of different leaders presented for each quality.

The author is misinformed on RTE being a “visionary” but other than that this is a good book overall w its citations and explanations.
