Juste cause
Lorsque Robbie Childress est accusé du meurtre de sa femme puis acquitté, tout le pays crie à l'injustice. Pour la famille de la victime, c'est carrément le choc. Un choc d'autant plus violent que Robbie se montre peu après au festival du vin organisé par son ex-beau-père, Lawrence Bergen. Molly Swanton and Carla Peltonen were born in in Aspen, Colorado, U.S.A. on January 22 and September 12. In the late 60s, both newly returned from bumming around the world, they met in Aspen in the Red Onion, an Old West saloon. They were both new brides, wet behind the ears. It was several years later that they dreamed up Lynn Erickson, the pseudonym a combination of their husbands' names. They had read every romance put out in the early 70s and started saying, "We can do better than this." Well, they couldn't, but what the heck? The wrote two fat novels before we chanced onto an agent and made a sale. His first words to them: "The manuscript is flawed, but..."
They published their first novel as Lynn Erickson in 1980. Their early books were historical romances, full of blood and guts and murder, then they turned to contemporary women's suspense. "We've set almost all of our books in Colorado, especially in Aspen, a town where the truth is usually stranger than fiction. Aspen is a character in our books, not just a setting. We love to drop inside jokes about the quirks and fancies of our hometown. The scenery truly is glorious, the mountains magnificent, the skiing and hiking and fishing and horseback riding legendary. We cover the arts, too - the world-renowned music festival, the shops full of museum-quality paintings and sculptures. Southwestern art is big, of course: paintings and pottery and Navajo rugs."

STARTING WORDS: In Aspen,Colorado, there's no such thing as a subtle change of seasons.
ENDING WORDS: Then Dan kissed her soundly.
Robbie Childress a baseball player who had made a name for himself as a baseball player and later as an actor has been accused of murdering his wife Andie Childress,His father-in-law Lawrence Bergen seeked justice through the judicial system but unfortunately the jurors after much deliberations found Robbie Childress not guilty.Angered with the verdict Lawrence Bergen took his time to plan his revenge in form of vigilante or jungle justice within a period of seven months and delivered that revenge by murdering Robbie Childress at a crowded Bon Vin Festival tent and unknowingly making his only remaining daughter Tess Bergen an accomplice or accessory to murder.
I love this book but I also bear in mind the words of Mohandas Gandhi "An eye for an eye will make the whole world go blind"
I loved the characters, I loved Dan Hardley and disliked Robbie Childress guts,Carole Childress was almost emotional wreck all through and I also liked the determination of Tess.This book could be considered a legal fiction...An interesting read but I gave it 3 Stars because you will endeavor to read it to the end.

When I first picked up this book, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. I wasn't sure about the main character and whether the story would be compelling. As I kept reading, I got to like it more and more. I liked the characters, I like the happy ending and it was an engaging story.

I struggled at the beginning to get into this book, and some chapters there were a lot of words and missed the mark on actions. However, I saw it through to the end and I really enjoyed the book as a whole. The characters felt real and the court story itself as it unraveled to get to where it did.

An enjoyable, quick read! I started reading the book at the beach yesterday afternoon and just couldn't put it down. The only downside is the "romance" part of the story, which is very predictable, but other than that this book is pretty good!

the story line was good, a bit slowing moving. the romance between the two characters seem forced and cold. it wasn't as fast paced and intriguing as the storyline portrayed.
