Asta and Yuno grew up together, abandoned at the same church. They both determined to become Magic Knights... Yuno's abilities soon grew to genius levels of power and control while Asta didn't show even a spark of magic and made up for it by training hard physically. It became apparent to both when they received their grimores, Yuno a coveted 4-leaf clover and Asta an unheard of black 5-leaf clover, that they were each other's biggest competition when it came to achieving their goals of becoming the next sorcerer emperor.
I swear the mangaka of Black Clover is the king of setup volumes. To me they are super fun because we dance all over the place and in such a big world with so many characters there is a lot to see that we don’t get to during main story volumes. I enjoyed all the highlighted characters in this volume, particularly all that was dropped about curses.
The setup for the next story arc was super fun. There is going to be lots of growth due to all the hearts they are meeting. We get more politics, in the Clover kingdom and their neighbors the Hearts and Spades. Of course, poor Asta is at the center of it but he has some unruly allies who aren’t ready to give him up.
Black Clover is a fun series full of battles, so many characters and politics enough to have plenty of machinations.

This volume ends probably before another large arc and I thought that it would change a little bit, but it did not. The trial of Asta is postponed and we just see Black Bulls find more about devils and two different kingdoms mentioned in the previous volume by the Wizard King. There are multiple chapters filled with gags, which in my opinion, ruins the "subtle" romance between Yami and Charlotte and I really enjoyed their awkward interactions.
Another my complaint is about this judge guy. Suddenly there is a very powerful guy, who's power is... scales? And he can put people's magic away? And he is ominous and magical being all like "you Black Bulls are the shits, royals are the hits". The trial does not have any revelation now, and I think it will have minimal consequences in the future.
Then we go into another kingdom and I think that the sandbox starts to fall apart. There are kingdoms and they are in a sort of "peace", yet fighting against each other and now the scales shifted so we need to act right now, even though we never heard of them before.
Alright, there are more demons in the world. And even though everyone was surprised that there was another demon now it seems that more people know about curses and about demons and weird stuff. It simply feels forced and not good.
I like time skips because they show the growth of a person and generally can change the dynamic of the story. I hope that Tabata will play with it little bit more. But I will wait a bit and put Black Clover to sleep for a while. I hope that the next arc can surprise me and revitalise my excitement for the series.

Thank goodness! This was exactly what I needed after that business with the elves!
Not much to say here, aside from the fact that we're finally learning more about the other kingdoms and will be exploring them. In fact, I already love the Heart Kingdom and wish readers had gotten to see more of it than the Diamond Kingdom. The princess is adorable, the environment is gorgeous, and the water spirit is funny yet motherly. Hopefully Tabata will spend more time on this kingdom in the future, it's easily my favorite one out of the four!
Oh, and Charlotte's situation was hilarious and incredibly sweet. I'm glad her guild is totally okay with her being in love with a man, considering the morals the guild is built on. Shit like this is what makes me love the series so much!
But that's about it. Here's hoping this issue with the Spade Kingdom ends up producing better villains than the last arc did. I'm in dire need of some good villains...

Ah, just what we needed. Power levels! A new system of power levels, with new ranks, and an emphasis on how power levels are super important to fight this new threat of other devils. I love it, that's great, we all know that power levels are the most important and defining aspect of a shonen. When people remember the "over 9000" meme and how Dragon Ball treated power levels past the Freeza saga, they whole-heartedly love strength ratings being the focus of the conversation. Being able to accurately answer "who would win" questions is actually the only reason people consume media in the first place. I love power levels!

Asta faces judgment at the hands of the Clover Kingdom, but some quick thinking from the Wizard King sets him and the Black Bulls on a new mission that sends them all abroad in different directions.
I was worried about how they'd resolve last volume's cliffhanger, but it was both satisfying and well in character for everyone involved. This volume's more about moving everyone around for the next big arc, but it's fun nonetheless - the chapter or two set in Gordon's house are hilarious, and Charlotte's reaction to Yami is delightfully over the top.

Though the arc had a turning point with the appearance of devil in human realm. But it turns out after getting defeat by the magic knights the arc has started to move to different level. What awaits us here is a lot more better then we are expecting from this arc.

Volume in cui si chiude quella che reputo la saga più bella di tutta l'opera. Ovviamente, Black Clover continua ad essere godibile anche da qui in avanti, ma l'arco degli Elfi rimane inarrivabile.

Just like pretty much any popular shonen, the protagonist has hidden demonic powers and suffers from protection syndrome, which make him look like a badass. Man, I wish I had demonic powers and could save chicks all the time. That is so cool!
Just like pretty much any popular shonen, the adults with authority never trust him and never believe him, which make him look like an antihero who doesn’t follow the law, but wants to help people regardless. Man, I wish I was a vigilante who could break the law whenever I feel like it and still be considered a hero.
Just like pretty much any popular shonen, those with authority treat him like trash, so he will always be victimized and never be rewarded, and for coming off as an underdog even if he has proven to be super powerful a dozen times. Man, this excuses why nobody understands me every time I try to do something and the adults don’t reward me. It’s not because I am not as talented as I think I am, it’s because the adults don’t get how awesome I am.
Just like pretty much any popular shonen, the good guys are misfits who show no respect for authority and even call themselves rebels, so they can do whatever they like whenever they feel it, and still come off a cool and heroic. Man, I wish I was part of a group of troublemakers who never have to show respect to authorities. I am too cool for school, dude!
Just like pretty much any popular shonen, every time the authorities try to hold them back, they bring up their emotions and their ideals, and their destiny as an excuse for why they are above the law. In this case, it’s anti-magic that cancels every effect. Yeah dude, I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Just like pretty much any popular shonen, nobody ever gets punished no matter how disrespectful he is to the authorities. This doesn’t make sense within the context of the story, since the trial was made so someone can take the blame for all this mess but now nobody will and thus the population will lose trust in the establishment the good guys are supposed to protect. Whatever dude, I can do whatever I like and never be punished for it, because I am cool.
Just like pretty much any popular shonen, the moral of the day is never about taking responsibility for your actions, it’s about trusting your friends. Yeah dude, fuck the law, it’s all about being cool and having friends.

It was good but nothing special like some of the volumes. The final battle with Zagred is over but of course the problems are not over yet. Asta and Secre (Nero) are blamed because of their connection with Devils and forbidden magic. Other than the trial, our heroes visit the Heart Kingdom in order to become stronger and there is also a time skip. It was good overall but I still don't have high hopes for the future. I hope they deal with the whole Devil and Spade Kingdom thing well.

Nozel and Fuegoleon join in too, and have a declaration from the Wizard King. The Black Bulls are exiled and are to go to the Heart Kingdom to learn more about demons and how their powers work.
- Charlotte admits her feelings for Yami
- Noelle goes to Dorothy, who puts her in the dream world where it is the only safe place to talk about her mom dying from a curse. Says that a demon is responsible named Megicula.
- The Black Bulls go to Gordon's family to learn more about curses since they all use those types of magic. (They all look the same! This part is hilarious!)
- Asta, Noelle, Finral, and Mimosa go to the Heart Kingdom, meeting Gaja, a protector of the Kingdom; AND Lolopechka, the Princess and ruler of the Heart Kingdom, who has Undine, the Water Spirit, and was cursed by Megicula.
- Megicula is controlling the Spade Kingdom and the Princess will give some of her strongest mages to help our Magic Knights to fight against the devil, but they will need 6 months to train and get ready.
This might seem like a filler Volume, but actually moves the plot nicely from one arc to the next. Excited to see how much more powerful they are in the next Volume.

En esta ocasión, en el manga se elige un escuadrón de elite que viaja al reino del corazón para mejorar sus habilidades y ganar más fuerzas para la batalla que se avecina.
Este tomo es bastante diferente en cuanto a lo que sucede en el anime y agradezco estar siguiendo la historia en ambos formatos, porque esta clase de situaciones suele darse siempre al revés (siendo más detallista el manga), porque acá se omite totalmente todo el entrenamiento. Pasan de la decisión de entrenar, a 6 meses después y listo.
Otra diferencia es el timing que le ponen a descubrir que Yuno es de la realeza del reino de la pica. Acá lo descubrimos al final del tomo, en el anime recién en los últimos capítulos de la temporada y bastante más adentrada la historia.
Como siempre, es una historia que no te da niingún tipo de respiro en la acción. Pasa de un enemig a otro en cada capítulo y por suerte no se eterniza en ningún personaje ni maneja siempre las mismas técnicas de pelea, asi que no se torna nada repetitivo.

This was a really jam packed volume. Asta's sentencing as been delayed on the grounds that he is being exiled, along with all the other Black Bulls, to investigate other devils activity in the other Kingdom's.
As it stands, Asta, Noelle, and a few others have headed to the Heart Kingdom, while another chunk of the Black Bulls were sent off to the Diamond Kingdom. Asta, and Noelle have met the princess of the Heart Kingdom, who reveals that a devil named, Megicula, has taken control of the Spade Kingdom's inhabitants, and plans to invade the other Kingdom's to spread its control. Having been cursed herself, she asks our heroes to train in her country for 6 months, before they all launch an offensive against the Spade Kingdom. This means we are getting ourselves a timeskip, a big new bad guy, and even more information on what devils are. Things are really starting to pick up, and I am actually very excited to see where this new arc is taking this series.

So Asta is technically “banished” from the clover kingdom, but it’s nice to see the heart kingdom’s princess not be a jerk like every other leader we’ve met. Nervous for the spade guy fight though. If Luck refuses to fight him, that’s when I would just walk home.
I’m glad Finral’s back. I missed him a lot as being the most relatable guy in the series. He just wants chics, and it’s not his fault if he’s a flirt. I honestly don’t think his girl cares.
Speaking of girl, Charlotte really said ‘hold my beer’ with that top-tier scream. Glad to see her admit her love for Yami. Yami on the other hand is so dense that he’s worse than other Shonen Protagonists 💀. Glad to see Asta’s a little better, but in reality he’s not. (I still think that Yuno has a crush on him but that’s just me).
Ready for the timeskip and possibly new designs.

Asta tries to convince the nobles that he's not possessed by a devil and the Black Bulls come to defend him. I love their little family, so wholesome. However, the nobles aren't going to be swayed by displays of affection and King Julius saves their lives by granting them "exile to investigate devils". In other words, a spy mission.
Sadly this spy mission ends up being less than stealthy as their first try is in the Country of Hearts.
In other news, Noelle is looking for secrets about her mother; Finral is trying to become less of a flirt; and Captain Yami almost got a love confession. (It's adorable~)

- c'était incroyable le procès d'asta avec l'arrivée de tout le taureaux noir hyper badass ce moment. Aussi le discours de yami qui l'a fait à Nero était juste incroyable.
- Après l'arrivée de nozel et de fuegoleon pour dire que asta sera envoyé à l'étranger pour pas étre exécutées.
- Après le truc avec Charlotte et yami c'était grave cool j'ai trop aimé c'était drôle j'ai grave apprécié.
- Par contre le truc avec de la famille de Gordon ça m'a un peu soulé c'est ça le petit moins de ce tome.

Tenía muy poca fe y he salido encantado la verdad, cada tomo aporta algo nuevo e inesperado y no copia sagas enteras de Naruto, Yu yu Hakusho o Dragon ball como si han hecho otros mangas (cof cof MHA). Empieza muy parecido a cualquier otro shonen y rápido le da su propio toque.
Terminado el primer gran arco argumental y desvelado el verdadero villano. Este manga tiene todas las papeletas para tener un final muy interesante. Igual creo que lo voy a pausar para poder leer la segunda parte de golpe cuando esté acabado.

i usually don’t like the transitional volumes between arcs, but this one as really good. the last piece of this story was so big and pivotal to the overall plot, and i could tell this next piece will, as well. we’re also at the point where the “filler” just feels like a subplot, which is great. there was minimal fighting <3 and a lot of forward plot movement. this was my kind of volume.

There is so much more expansion in the world in this volume! It is so welcomed after the elves' arc, which thus far was my least favorite story within this great series. The book starts with a bang and combines the right level of adventure with story progression. I think this one will be very enjoyable by fans of the series.
