A refreshing, honest and real book. I am not a huge fan of Stacey Solomon, I knew of from X-Factor and over the years what o have seen or heard of her was all good, and even the negatives were things I thought "what has that got to do with anyone else, it is her choice".
For some reason the title of this book just jumped out at me. I don't know if part of the way I see myself because I am quite happy in my skin, and have learned not to let other people's opinions define me, or it seemed to be the opposite message sent out by celebrities and social media if be like me, get this and you will be happy.
I think the message of the book to be yourself, and accept yourself, so others will as well is very important and lost somewhat in today's world.
Do I agree with everything Stacy says and does no (I do agree with much more that I disagree with), but that is the point find what works for you. Nobody has it easy, everyone is different, and everyone has their own issues.
A very good read, and a missed or underused perceptive. The only reason I did not hive it 5 stars is a couple of the bits are a bit girly for me, but Stacey writes from what she knows. I am very impressed with the book and message.

I do love and admire Stacey, and she has had three more children since writing this book. It was more of a "Stacey's guide to life" than a biography and a little repetitive but her hearts in the right place!
Stacey Solomon is a right minded girl in my opinion, favouring herself being au naturel and at home in her skin imperfections are perfections to her as so they rightly should be to all of us, we're alive we should embrace that over how we look surely!?
Stacey raises the issues with accompanying questions and justifications which makes the book seem like a friendly debate throughout as she poses questions and gives her answers from topics such as family, education, love and relationships, kindness, body image and so called flaws we should take from body hair to surgery and of course social media and paparazzi.
She goes through most things that we can find cause us pain and judgement by others and shows life issues such as these above should all be taken with a pinch of salt, not everyone knows us or our journey so why should they judge us when they don't know us, if we love and are loved that's all that should matter.
Anything can and will be changed if we want or need to but we should never feel pressured to do so. This is a book to make you happy being who you are and feel you belong in your own skin.
Listened to Stacey reading the audio book and have been pleasantly surprised. I don't know why - Stacey is very popular in my house. My daughters and I are all fans of hers whatever programme she is in.. Stacey radiates warmth and love and self acceptance, such a tonic. Perfect for New Year's Eve and has given me a few things to think about.
Stacey Soloman what a brilliant book you have written. If we all lived our lives a little like Stacey the world would be a much happier place. Some great tips and a really positive outlook. I love the stay positive sections at the end of each chapter. I’m certainly going to try and use some of these tips. Nobody’s perfect we just need to accept who we are. Loved it
After watching Stacey on 'Sort your life out in 7 days', I was keen to know more about her and her positive attitude to so much going on in the world. This book has been a total joy to read - you almost breathe out a sign of relief knowing that everyone else is also figuring out how to be an adult in this world and working out life. A lovely read!
My love for Stacey Solomon knows no bounds. I love her Instagram feed, I love her attitude to live and I love here on Loose Women. I think she is a boss role model for just being yourself.
Her book Happily Imperfect addresses people’s need to be perfect and how we are all perfectly imperfect. She discusses her formative years, her X Factor journey, her growth as a young girl, becoming a mother and finding love.
You get the feeling that yes, she is human and she does get down by the negative comments but she also has such a positive attitude towards life. This is the kind of book that you can read more than once because it is so positive.
Personally, I would love Stacey Solomon to bring out a craft book. Actually, if I am wanting for anything I kind of want to be best friends with Stacey Solomon but I would settle for a craft book (hint hint) because she is boss. Happily imperfect is the perfect tonic and helps you appreciate all the good things you have.
Happily Imperfect by Stacey Solomon is available now.
I love Stacey and find her Instagram really fun and helpful too especially with trying to show you how it is ok to just be you so I was excited to read her book.
It is true Stacey style and can almost hear her in your head as read it and there were a few things in there that really struck a chord and made me stop to think.... i suffer with mental health issues and i think I will need to read this book a few times over the years to try some of the things that definitely make sense but for me at the moment seem like a huge undertaking.
There is a little repetition in the book which I guess can't be avoided as we all pull on similar examples of things when talking about things but the message throughout remains be true to who u are and learn to love you for you ❤
I love Stacey! As a new mum myself I love her Instagram stories about bringing up her boys, especially her youngest, who is just a few months older than my boy. Whenever I am feeling a bit of a mum-wobble her page always cheers me up. She is very down to earth and depicts her family life in all its chaotic glory. A real tonic compared to all the heavily curated "mummy blogs" out there.
This is a sweet, lightweight read. The advice is simple and straightforward, and though not earth-shattering, it was cute to spend some time with a human who just wants to spread a bit of love, silliness and joy.
Stacey is a breath of fresh air. This book is a brilliant feel good reality check that we are all doing fine and it's ok to embrace your uniqueness. An easy read that feels like a conversation with an old friend.
Am amazingly positive, insightful, graceful and soothing read that has so much content portrayed in such a happy light, so much fun and entertaining and well as empowering.
A must must read , better even if you can go for an audiobook
I absolutely loved this audio book. I was feeling a bit down in the dumps and Stacy managed to completely change that for me. She talking about her life, family recipes, relationships and her children. Throughout the book she gives you a new mindset of how to view life in a more positive way.
A really heartfelt and positive read. Stacey talks about her life and advice for walking through difficult times with positivity. An very uplifting read!
I received this yesterday from a book gifting & couldn't wait to get stuck in. And I loved every bloomin' minute of reading it! ❤️
@staceysolomon you are so down to earth & so so bloody funny 😂
I would urge you all to go buy yourselves a copy of this!
Had me laughing out loud in places with gems like this "And for your information, the Bush is back. The 1970's rule again when it comes to body hair & thank frickin' goodness for that! We can all let our pubes waft, knowing that we're totally on brand & future forward"
Never stop being true to yourself for anyone, embrace the fur, live your life whichever way you choose & don't let anyone tell you otherwise! 💕
Firstly, I need to say that I genuinely love Stacey. She fills my heart with joy and I love her attitude to life. However, this book just wasn't for me. I was interested in the stories of her life but a lot of it was just too preachy and repetitive in the sense that it was all be positive and grateful. It could have been 100 pages shorter. But nevertheless, it had interesting topics to ponder on and for some people, they would love this type of book, but it just wasn't for me and that isn't a criticism of Stacey or her writing. Just my personal preference. I am looking forward to Tap to Tidy though!
This book is not an autobiography, whilst it does have snippets of the authors life. She shares parts of her life and skim over bits. It's basically a good, positive self help guide in which the author shares her ways to stay happy, and upbeat in situations. She gives examples of methods that have help her throughout her life so far to stay happy and cope with negatives. This could be useful for people needing help to keep a spring in their step and shows you a way of very positive living. I did enjoy but it wasn't what I expected. But I admire and support the message of the book, the author does give you an idea of how to be positive however it's a guide from the author on her life.
Really enjoyed this book as it was read by Stacey herself. It was such a quick read which I liked but if I am been honest I would of personally enjoyed it more id Stacey spoke more about her childhood experiences and how hard it was been a 1st time mum. She mainly speaks about the spotlight and her job and the boys but I love listening to how her boys were doing it. I think it could have been better along it was longer and what more into her life and what made her choose the career she chose. Over all enjoyable book and I learnt a lot of new things about Stacey that I didn’t know before which I enjoyed learning about xx
This book truly lightens up my mood, it feels as if I was advised by my big sister to just enjoy my life and accept all the imperfections within. It kinda serves as a quirky antidote to all those "how-to" self help books out there which tells us what to and what not to do - it is totally fine not to live by those books, your life is not going to be doomed, and that I should do what works for me. I have nothing against those self help books because I'm still reading those and make use of what applicable and make sense to me, but this book comes as a relief that one way or another we can still survive. It teaches me to live in the moment and just be grateful for everything that has happened, instead of pondering why and obsessively trying to find the right solution. The most relatable part of this book is when she discusses about body hair, this is the first time someone has pointed it out so bluntly and I couldn't help but laughing along the entire chapter as I face the similar problem and confusion as a 'hairy' girl (now I know what to do, thanks to Stacey!). Over all I'm glad to pick up this book, the pink cover is the one that got me attracted (love it so much!) and I'm thanking Stacey for sharing her positive vibes about life, I'm touched 💙
I really enjoyed this book, I wish I could be a bit more “Stacey” as she really seems to have cracked self love and living in the moment. She seems a real down to earth family girl and the love for her family falls from the pages. This book was written prior to the Covid 19 pandemic and I would love to know if Stacey managed to keep her upbeat attitude throughout the lockdown periods.
I love Stacey Solomon, I watch her Instagram stories every day and love seeing her going about her normal day, always with a smile on her face, she’s such a positive person! So of course, I had to read her book! Although actually, I read and listened to it. I downloaded it on audible to listen when I was out on my walks, and then I’d come home and read some more too. I loved hearing her read her own words, even though I was reading them in her voice when I had the book out anyway 😂
I loved reading more about Stacey and her life. She’s such an interesting person, it was so nice to find out more about her! But Happily Imperfect is more than just a look into Stacey’s life. It is the perfect positive outlook on life that we could all do with. Every time I finished a chapter, I felt so motivated to do more and feel better about myself. There’s something about the words Stacey used that just made me appreciate myself more.
This book has such a lovely message throughout to take away with it, we are imperfect, nobody is perfect so there’s no need for us to compare ourselves with others. We just need to accept and love ourselves for who we are, and we can be happily imperfect 💕
A lovely and honest book, it's made me think more of how I think of myself. I like it has small chapters which makes is easy to pick up and put down for a later date. The ' stay positive' parts are great and marked these for when I need a little pick me up and to remind myself I am good enough. If I'm honest only negative is, it can come across quite repetitive in parts. Overall a great book and would recommend to read, especially anyone who likes Stacey Solomon.
I thought this was a very uplifting and positive book with some lovely values and insights in it. I love Stacey and her approach to life. It was soo interesting hearing more about her background and how that’s lead to who she is today.
I think me main issue was it was a bit repetitive and I lost speed listening to the audiobook about 3/4 of the way through as I felt I’d heard most of it already.
I loved that Stacey read the book herself on audible- added such a personal quality to it!
What a lovely book, if a tad longwinded in parts. Stacey seems such a lovely person, daft as a brush but so grounded. Her love for her boys shines through every line and her family are so very important to her. A real feel good book which is great for reading on a lousy, rainy, November Sunday! Gotta love Stacey. 😁
Read this book in just over 2 days as I was glued to it. Stacey has been such an inspiration to many sufferers of Anxiety. She is always honest, open and caring. I highly recommend everyone reads this, I think everyone could learn a little something from this very lovely young lady.
This is the first audio book I ever listen to. It was a great company especially in commute with traffic congestion. It really helps when the international media or social network set metrics like having six packs or bikini body for healthy life. The author answered similar questions as her life happens with her experience.
Having watched Staceys Instagram stories a lot recently, when I saw this on unlimited, thought I'd give it a go. Some really interesting things are said, and it's very insightful. I love the idea of Stacey loving her body, despite what the tabloids were saying about it, and the way she explores it in this book. Heartfelt and warm fuzzies.
