John O'Brien is a former Air Force fighter instructor pilot who transitioned to Special Operations for the latter part of his career gathering his campaign ribbon for Desert Storm. Immediately following his military service, John became a firefighter/EMT with a local department. Along with becoming a firefighter, he fell into the Information Technology industry in corporate management. Currently, John is writing full-time.

Red Team is back again in their fight against all things that go bump in the night. This time it is Lycan/Werewolves. After a couple of missing hunters go missing, the pattern of lost of dead people as well as cattle being slaughtered in ranches sorrounding a specific area around the Nez Perce National Forest footage is found of what can only be a very large wolve--with a few minor differences. As the team investigates they are forced into a battle withou Lycan, larger than even the largest known wolves and fare more dangerous especially when all signs point to a high level of intelligence. There are several battles intense battles between Lycans and Red Team that are intense that keeps the listener glued, which is what John O'Brien does best in his discriptive of any scene. But it is Mark Gaglirdi, the narrator that keep the listener in the midst of the fights. Johhn O'Brien has a talent for surprising us, which makes his books so damn great! Which ever you decide, read or listen, if you are a John O'Brien/Red Team fan this is must. No disappointment here. And with all the Supernaturals out there, there is no ending to the great stories he can put to together.
This writer never ceases amaze me with his ability to paint pictures with words. His talent for merging fantasy with military science is without a doubt one to be envied. Yes, I'm a huge fan of John O'Brien but I'd never steer my fellow readers wrong, you will be very entertained by this enjoyable book. I find it's not necessary to have read the first Red Team book to thoroughly love this one but you may want to read the first one, Red Team:STRIGOI. In this book, LYCAN, you get two heart stopping missions by Red Team. The first is a wild attempt to prevent a mass killing in Mexico. The other is a fantastic meeting of Red Team and a village of werewolves. O'Brien pictures unbelievable scenery of the forest, mountains, and valleys of Idaho as Jack and Red Team search for the LYCANS. Don't miss this exciting book. And as always, happy readings.
Jack and the rest of the team still have to deal with waste of skin human threats but when they face off against the Lycan, all bets are off. These Lycan still obtain many of their human traits which make the battles more horrifying. This fast paced story grabs you by the throat and never lets up. O'Brien's way with words draws you quickly into the story and has you on the edge of your seat hoping against hope that all the team will survive the upcoming face off against these terrifying beasts.
The wife and I, are living how this new series is turning out, and are looking forward to more. There are so many more different monsters out there that Red Team can run into, and we love the way that John showed that the Werewolves weren't totally evil. The series is also action pack, which we love. John is a very good writer, and we also the work he and Mark Tufo, have done together.
This one is a must read for anyone who loves all things werewolves. As an added bonus, it includes a special team of soldiers that will draw you into their world. I loved everything about this book! The search for the werewolves was intense and was filled with lots of hair raising moments...pardon the pun. I hope there will be more books coming in this series.
What a great read. Good horror is hard to come by these days. This was a great find. It is one of the best. A new and different take on werewolves, making them all the more scary. I love it. Not that I am surprised, John O'Brien is one of the best and most brilliant writers in the horror genre I have come across in quite a while. Read this book.
