After an explosive fight with her boyfriend, Jessica Lane secretly packs up her life in Chicago and starts over in small-town Rosefield, Illinois. Finally rid of her abusive, controlling ex, she finds comfort in her new freedom.
Jessica plans to take things slow and focus on herself for once. That changes quickly when she runs into a new coworker, IT guru Nathan Miller. Neither can deny their feelings as they bond over their traumatic pasts.
Ex-boyfriend Rick Coates doesn’t take kindly to being ghosted. With nothing to lose, he utilizes his military background to do anything it takes to get Jessica back—even if that means eliminating the people closest to her.
Jessica and Nathan must not only fight for each other, but also against a terror lurking around Rosefield.
My passion for romantic suspense stems from my childhood in the Pacific Northwest. My grandmother had thousands of mass-market romance novels and old-school thrillers, and I’d often find myself sneaking off and devouring them. As I grew older, I found myself wanting to write my own stories that combined my favorite elements from each genre. I hope you had as much fun reading To Start Again as I had writing it!
My heart immediately went out to Jessica Lane when she was trying to escape her abusive ex. And it broke just thinking that she was going to have to completely start over. But then pride swept over me seeing Jessica try to focus on herself. Then my heart melted as Jessica met Nathan Miller and he was able to connect with her.
This is the first novel for the author and she delivers big time on both the romance and suspense in my eyes. Phenomenal job!!!
