Cami DiCarlo has always known what she wanted and where she belonged, but when her father dies, his will reveals huge secrets—four of them in the form of half sisters she never knew about—and his plans for her future, which aren’t at all what she had in mind.

She finds herself working alongside her sisters as they get ready to open the hotel for business, dealing with personality conflicts, and trying to find out who is trying to destroy the family name and ruin the hotel’s reputation before it even gets started.

Vince Talmadge, local landscape architect, seems miles away from the kind of man she usually dates, but the attraction flares between them from word one. Learning her father picked him out to be her future husband, she is not amused, but neither can she back off the path they’ve begun together. But can two people miles apart in so many ways really make things work?

I'm not really getting all the comments about how this book wasn't "clean" and such. Was it listed as a Christian romance or something? I thought it was too clean lol and needed a few more steamy scenes. If the other books are free, I'll read them, but probably won't pay for them.

I desperately wanted to like this. I thought it would be a great clean book. Nope. The dad was quite the wanderer. Yikes! Four other daughters not with his wife? Then the main character almost immediately finds a love interest and it isn't long until she is staying over at his house at night. No details ( thankfully). But, for someone who is hurt by her dad sleeping around, it seems wrong. There was also some swearing (which I really do not like). I wanted to like this series, but I will not be reading more from this author ( under this name at least). I only gave it three stars for the family element. Otherwise I would have given it only 2 stars.

This was a free kindle book. It was longer than some of the romance books that I have paid for. The content was also better than some of the books that I have bought. I loved this book. It is the first book in a series. I can't wait to read the next one. The author did an outstanding job setting up this story line.

Cami grew up knowing she had one sister, and her mom and dad were married. She was living the fantasy that most kids dreamed about. Having parents that never divorced. After her dad died, her life as she had known it was thrown into a tail spin.

Cami found out that she had three other sister. Her parents were better off as friends. Her dad had other children when he had affairs, while still being married to her mom. She had tons of questions to ask, but both of her parents had died. So she had no one to ask the hard questions too. No one that could give her the answers she wanted and needed. She was so mad at her father.

In his will, all five sister's had to live together under one roof for one year to receive their inheritance. During that year they all had to pull together as a team and build a resort hotel from the ground up. Each sister had special skills, and talents. Her father had out lined in his will what each sister's position would be in the resort, leaving no room for fights for control.

I was pleased at how five young ladies started out as strangers, and by the end of the book, they had a bond of sisterhood. The romance between Cami, and Vince heated up the pages. This story really pulled me right in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I enjoyed the read, although I had difficulty with the primary premise of Dad having 4 illegitimate daughters. When the father passes away, the terms of his will throw the daughters (2 from his marriage and 4 illegitimate) together to get to know each other. A concept done a little better by Nora Roberts in her Montana Sky book. There is some development of their feelings although I think there would have been significant more anger and issues. With 6 daughters and feelings of betrayal living together in one house, I think this issue was done "lite". The "lite" could be because the book is a series and you don't really "meet" and get to know some of the players until they get their own book. The "suspense" portion of the plot was pretty obvious so that you knew who it was all along. The romance was also done "lite" - very clean and no racy scenes which based on your preference may be good or bad. It is nice to have a real story and not just racy sex scenes pretending to be a story. The next books in the series looked interesting and I will consider purchasing them, although I didn't find myself immediately buying them. (Never did purchase them...moved on to other books...)

I debated between 3 stars and 4 stars and it fell around 3.5 stars. I did think that the author can write - no glaring issues...

So not for me. I'm not a fan of adultery nor having kids around the world. Or forcing people to mingle and also choosing husbands for them.

The writing itself was good in my opinion but the story not so. I wish the girls would have been more independent and not just following daddy's wishes, whether it was the last wish or not.

I just kept hitting my head to my e-reader as the story progressed. The girls were just like lambs, just following orders. Argh! And of course closing to the end (in book about 2 months), they were already starting to be best friedns. In what reality is that supposed to happen? You find out that you have four sisters you never heard of, move to a house with them and just accept that woops, daddy had several different lives he was living?

Ad this was just the first book! Won't be reading the next ones.

ARGHH!!!

4 star Review A Perfect Fit by Heather Tullis

AUDIO REVIEW:

Heather Tullis is a new author to me and why that is the case, I have no idea. I have listened to narrator Valerie Gilbert before though. I found this book to be well written and entertaining and it kept me invested from the first to the last chapter.

Cami and Lana DiCarlo are reeling from the surprise of finding out that they have four half sisters they knew nothing about. Now forced together to run their father’s new hotel, Cami has no idea how her life is about to change.

Meeting Vince Talmadge, Cami is attracted to him, he’s hot and caring and makes her feel special. He was swoon worthy and I loved the sense of family throughout this story.
There is heat, spice, love, drama and some suspense as the sisters try to find out who doesn’t want their venture to succeed.

The narrator did a credible job voicing all the characters.

Sigh, I can get behind a nice contempo series. This is an intriguing premise. Six sisters who only just found out they are sisters and have to run their father's last hotel together.

Cami is the eldest and has to deal with the shock of finding out her father cheated on her mother and had other kids. Such a tough thing to learn and deal with, especially when she hero worshiped her father. You really get a great feel for her and go through the growing pains of forgiving her father and deciding to get to know her new sisters.

Vince is a great match for her. I love his hometown feel and how connected he is with the community. He has a wonderful connection with Cami and they have chemistry in spite of her father's apparent match making.

I love the supporting cast and all the little stories going on that are sure to carry out through the series. There are plenty of hints for the other sister's romances as well as a few intrigues at the hotel. The main side story was pretty easy to predict the bad guy, but it did not detract from the enjoyment of the overall read.

While this is a romance and character's have sex, it is strictly closed door. No details for the naughty readers. I don't mind the cleaner romances, so no problem here. The fact that they do sleep together knocks it out of the Christian Romances. It is a pretty clean read though, plenty of kisses but no erotic details or thoughts.

It is a mixed narrative, so you get both sides of the story from the leads. It makes for a well rounded story.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Valerie Gilbert, who is definite favorite. I always enjoy her reads and the energy she puts into the read. She has a nice brisk pace, I never have to speed things up when listening. Her voices are varied and consistent, it is always a pleasure to see what she is going to do with a book. The women are great and the men are just deep enough without going into a false tone. She is a perfect for the series!

I am really happy to have found this series and can not wait for the other girls books. They are so different and interesting. You can pretty much see how all the pairings are going to and I adore the "Future Sons-in-law Club" they are so going down!

Disclosure – I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts opinions and ratings are my own. I was under no obligation to post a review or give positive feedback.

*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! I sort of struggled with this book and I couldn’t decide at first why it was I didn’t immediately like it. I could have been that the story is about one couple, but ALL the sisters are involved in this book as the set up to the series begins. The names of the girls were all about flowers but I couldn’t really remember what each girl was supposed to be in charge of in the running of the Hotel their father forced them into working in. They are all sisters, but only 2 share the same mother and the other 3 have different mothers. They struggle to come to terms with their relationships as sisters, and their feelings for their cheating father. And though I did like that part of the story where I could see the inner turmoil and how they interacted with each other and eventually learned to get along. It was still difficult to grasp the love story I wanted to read about because of all the extra family involved in the plot.
I totally guessed the “bad guys”. One right from the start and the other pretty quickly afterward so it was kind of predictable, but there were still fun twists and surprises I didn’t see at first. The whole issue the “Bad guy” had was a little cheesy and overblown, but desperate people do desperate things.
The love story should have had me riveted, but it kinda happened really fast, then they started sleeping together (though nothing is given in detail so it could still be considered basically a clean romance) and I was really annoyed. Their kissing started to get boring for me since there was no “sexual tension” because they were already a couple, just afraid to commit to the long term relationship at first. I’m sure I’ll read the others that come out for the series (the teaser for book 2 at the end of this book 1 was interesting), but I’m not dying for them right away.

Another free book that I picked up and decided to read this week. I fell in love with this story of 6 sisters thrust into a huge new venture. There is love, romance, tragedy and humor. Lovely chick lite book I read quickly and enjoyed thoroughly. Cami is the oldest of the sisters and suddenly surprised by revelations that come out after her father's death. She meets Vince and amidst all the troubles that come up opening this new resort in Colorado they find love.

When I went into this story, I thought I was backtracking a bit, as I had already read the author's Love In Juniper Ridge series. Surprisingly, the story didn't have much use of the town as a backdrop, in fact things felt very separate from that other series!

George DiCarlo did a lot of manipulation before his death, and that really didn't sit well with me. It seemed he didn't trust his daughters to do anything for themselves! He hand picked their jobs in his resort and the men he wanted them to end up with! It drove me crazy!

That being said, with all of that adversity stacked against them, I enjoyed seeing how the daughters succeeded, despite his manipulations. I thought it was especially interesting to see how Vince and Cami got together despite the manipulation and their misgivings of it. The situation felt a little too insta-love for my tastes, but was still entertaining enough to keep me engaged in the story.

I especially liked the suspense thread that was woven in to the story, and wanted to read the next book almost immediately, just to see what kind of suspense could be woven into that story! I can't wait to read the next book now!

A Perfect Fit (DiCarlo Brides) by Heathers Tullis

Family is at the core of A Perfect Fit.  Cami's world is rocked by grief and revelations.  In her case secrets come in fours and the hits keep coming.  Family growing pains tumble over into business.  Her once orderly world has been thrown into chaos of the worst kind.  Heather Tullis has crafted a journey of self discovery that scandalizes and surprises.  Ms. Gilbert does a wonderful job of voicing the inner turmoil and angst of a woman finding her way through the storm.

Heather Tullis is a new author to me as is Valarie Gilbert the narrator but after listening to A Perfect Fit I’m really excited to dig into the rest of this series.
Cami and Lana DiCarlo are left wondering what way to turn after finding out they have a family they never knew existed......
A series about two sisters and their four half sisters forced together to run the family hotel are any of them prepared for how their life’s are about to change......
A great story and a family I’m looking forward to getting to know. The narration was good and paced well and Valerie Gilbert did a great job of bringing the characters to life. Looking forward to more in this series.

Vikki’s Musings

I just love it when I find a new author, don’t you? This is the first book I’ve read the DiCarlo Brides series, and I found this a highly entertaining read. I listen to the audio version of A Perfect Fit. I found it while scrolling through loving for a contemporary romance with a twist when I discovered this one. It’s FREE on Amazon and the audio was only $1.99.

A Perfect Fit is a light-hearted story, yet still has deep emotional reading. The pacing is excellent and I became engaged from the start and remained so until the end. I liked the plot quite a lot, and it is not one I have read before.

Cami DiCarlo is shocked and terribly hurt to learn that her beloved father had four other daughters she and her sister didn’t know existed. When his will dictates they must work together to open the newest 5-star resort in his conglomerate, she is not happy. How will this ever work?

When she meets landscape artist, Vince Talmadge, she is attracted instantly. Here is a man her father would never approve of for her. Perhaps, she can enjoy a carefree fling to help relieve the stress she feels over having to spend time with these new sisters.

Can Cami grow to accept her new sisters, learning to value each of their unique talents, while finding the man of her dreams, a man quite different from the men in her past.

Cami is an interesting character. She is a bit spoiled in the beginning, but it’s really a front to cover up the pain she feels over what she sees as her father’s betrayal. What I liked most about her was her willingness to change. She starts out determined to dislike these sisters she knew nothing about until the reading of her father’s will. I think most women would feel hurt and confusion to learn their father had fathered four illegitimate daughters.

I feel in love with the hero, Vince, right away. He’s sexy, yet kind-hearted, and not a playboy. He’s modest and likes helping people. I saw that immediately when he offers to take Cami’s bags inside when she arrives at the house she will share with her sisters. It’s refreshing to have more of the boy-next-door kind of hero, instead of one who is so emotionally distant, I sometimes wonder how the hero and heroine will either get past that.

Valerie Gilbert is the narrator, and while she doesn’t attempt to give the men masculine voices, I could still distinguish between the characters. She reads with a good bit of emotion, putting emphasis where it is needed without going too far. I enjoyed her performance and will listen to future recordings by Ms. Gilbert.

If you enjoy a book with amusing characters, camaraderie between family members and a lovely romance, then you will like A Perfect Fit. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. Happy reading!

I really enjoyed A Perfect Fit. I thought it was cute and kept my attention from the beginning.

Cami is completely shocked when she goes to the reading of her father's will to find that she has 4 more sisters that she knew nothing about. Her father had been having affairs pretty much his entire marriage to her mother. She is also shocked that he has manipulated all of them to moving to Colorado to open and run his latest hotel. If they do not move there then they do not get an inheritance. They all decide to just give it a shot to see how things will work out. Cami wants to hate the sisters because of her father but over the few months that she has known them, she starts to see how great they really are. She doesn't see herself becoming all buddy, buddy with them but she is willing to get to know them and just see where things go.

She was also shocked but not too surprised that her father had also arranged for her to marry Vince, a local landscape architect. Although she does not like that her father has done this, she can't deny that her feelings for Vince are stronger than they have ever been for anyone. I thought that Vince was an awesome pick for Cami! They did have a bit of trouble but nothing major... which I thoroughly enjoyed! (I needed a break from too much turmoil in a relationship!) Vince was just what Cami needed to get her through the rough patch she hit in her life. As the title states... they were A Perfect Fit! :)

I have to say that I pretty much knew who was behind the attempted sabotage of the hotel from pretty early on but it didn't bother me at all. I was more focused on the growing relationships and seeing all the different personalities in the house. :)

I am looking forward to reading the other sisters stories and to see Cami and Vince's continue. I think I am looking forward to Rosemary's story the most. Not sure why... there is just something about her...

This is the first book I have read by Heather Tullis and I'm looking forward to reading more! :)

Ok so I didn't expect much from this book at all, which is unfair because it surprised me, whereas I thought it was going to be a mushy love story within an easy read. Don't get me wrong it was a good quick read but it wasn't easy and it wasn't solely based on finding love, it was as much about discovering the people around you and the journey of grief itself and the drama of families.

This book was about sisters who had no clue about one another being thrown into opening and running a hotel for a year after their dad died, wow, that's a unique storyline in itself. They had to learn how to be with one another, how to compromise and empathise with each other to make a success of the business their father knew they could do whilst dealing with the grief of losing their father no matter how manipulating he seemed to be.

I loved the flow of this book, the character interactions form the first moment to the last it was realistic and some were unexpected but I found myself a few times laughing out loud as well as a few tears. The banter the conversation between the sisters at first was obviously strained and stressed but throughout the book they became more than strangers, they became friends not instant buddies, not instant sisters forever but they became a unit.

Overall I liked this book it delivered a lot more than I expected, I enjoyed reading the drama, action and romance too.

I purchased a copy of the novel A Perfect Fit (DiCarlo Brides Book 1): Love in Juniper Ridge Jan 15, 2014 by Heather Tullis and this review was given freely.
A good introduction to the series. Complex and full of drama. 6 women find out after their father's funeral that they really are sisters and must work and live together for a year to make a the new Colorado hotel prosperous or marry in order to inherit. What they didn't expect upon arrival to the hotel site in Juniper Ridge,Colorado were romances that were secretly set up for them by their father George DiCarlo prior to his death and the multiple media sabotage attempts. Couples inferred include Cami with Landscaper Vince ,her sister Lana with the hotel's regional manager Blake, and her stepsisters Sage with former SEAL and head of hotel security Joel, Delphi with photographer Jeremy, and Jonquil with Ski Resort owner/manager Gage. A tutorial on hot air ballooning, setting up a hotel and resort and the stress of waiting for a kidney transplant are seamlessly blended in with all the family and workplace drama.

I wish the cover was updated on here. It's really pretty. :)

I liked this book alright but I didn't love it. It was a little slow going and there were a lot of characters to know. All these sisters were thrown together by their common father. The 6 girls have different mothers as their dad lead a life of infidelity. The MC in this book and one of her sisters share the same mother, the "first" mother. While their dad supposedly loved their mom, she just wasn't enough so he found himself with many different women over the years. Okay, so I really didn't like that. At all.

I did like how the sisters learn to work together. They try their best to overcome the challenges placed before them and get along. This book sets up the beginning of what looks to be a series following each of the sisters. I also enjoyed the setting of the book and the idea of a family of sisters, each with their own talents and flavor, working together in a family business.

The MC and her boyfriend sleep together although everything is behind closed doors. There is some swearing.

Thank goodness the author provided a list of characters in the beginning, because while this first book focuses on Cami and Vince's relationship, there are so many other characters involved it tends to get a bit confusing.

The good thing about this book and all its characters is that it provides a decent amount of background information on each potential couple/person so we'll know what things to expect in that couple's/person's story.

While I personally enjoy my books steamy and this book was strictly PG13, it was a very enjoyable read. It was a nice blend of characters. A little mystery and some action thrown in as well. Story line was creative and thought out. There were a few grammatical errors, missing words and punctuation marks and that really distracts the reader from the story.

I really like the dynamics of the sisters in this story and how they all fit into their new roles at the resort. I liked the idea of the romance between Vince and Cami but I honestly never felt the connection between them. I would have liked it if there had been more focus on them getting to know each other instead of them just kind of falling into what seemed like instalove. I’m kind of torn because I like that Vince just went for it with her but their very first time they were already acting like a couple who had known each other for longer than two quick conversations. I also realize that I think a lot like Cami and I just wanted her to fight falling in line with everything her dad wanted for her. Even though I agreed with what he thought was right for her I always get annoyed that someone else has chosen to make those choices for someone else.

The suspense stuff wasn't needed. But other than that I loved the characters and the set up. I want to read the rest especially Lana and Blake's story. And I hope Alex ends up with a sister. She thought about every detail from how would a man juggle six daughters, to his hobbies and naming each girl after a plant, to how would you feel if you found out about your dad's love children and it doesn't feel forced (except for the suspense parts). In the next book Sage has a stalker, so the suspense should be more natural. Heather has a natural gift for story telling and I look forward to reading more of her work.

2½ stars actually...When Cami's father died, she and her sister Lana discover they have four other half-sisters. Not only that, but his will stipulates that the six of them (all named after flowers no less) must work together for a year to keep their inheritance.

Together the six must open and run a resort in Colorado. Add to this improbable scenario, romance with Vince, the hunky landscaper, handpicked by her father, and an ex who is out to destroy Cami.

Lots of hair tucking, but no green-eyed characters...and quite a few typos-type errors, too. Not a bad romance, just a bit too perfect.

A fun story, but I hated the fact that the whole reason for the series is that Cami's father was a cheater and had 4 daughters out of wedlock. The fact that the other 4 knew about the affairs while his daughters born in the marriage were clueless. Watching the sisters come together was a fun read. The six definitely had their own personalities.
language: mostly clean; heat level: mild-some premarital sex, but behind closed doors.

I really enjoyed this book. Didn't really know what to think as it was a free book, but wow it really grabbed me in. It is interesting to read this from Cami's POV as I would like to also see what the other new sisters are all thinking. Guess I am addicted and going to have to buy the rest.

Loved it, makes me want to go to Colorado too for some reason.

The first book in an intriguing series. Heather Tullis sets up a whole series of romances with this first book, all pre-arranged by the six sisters' father. A PERFECT FIT is Cami's story, and I enjoyed how everything came together for her.

DNF: quit when I read the cast of characters and realized all of these women are half sisters from the same father with different mothers. I can already tell I will not like their father, and I don't want to deal with whatever soap-opera is being dreamed up here.
