I’m just a nerd,
He’s just a jock.
Can I make it any more obvious?

When a tall and handsome varsity hockey player moves into the apartment across the hall, I don’t expect us to become friends. Frankie’s a recently single dad with a newborn. I’m a virgin and a nerd who’s never truly felt like I fit in anywhere. The only thing we have in common is we’re both seniors in college. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to recognize that he’s definitely out of my league. But despite how popular Frankie is, he keeps me in his orbit for some reason.

When Frankie mentions he needs help passing an organic chemistry class, I decide to help him. Chemistry’s supposed to come naturally to me, but when I’m with Frankie, the only chemistry on my mind is the emotional and physical kind I feel when I’m close to him.

If he’s an electron,
Then I must be a proton.
Because this attraction is electrifying.

I’m terrified of how vulnerable I feel when I develop feelings for him. But if I ever want us to be more than just friends, I’m going to have to let myself fall,
and trust that gravity won’t work against me.

FRANKIE is a full-length standalone romance novel in the Single Dads Club series with no cliffhanger and a HEA. Recommended for 18+.

**3.5**
Frankie and Ian are polar opposite characters. One jock who is socially outgoing and a new father. One nerd who is socially awkward and most at home with his studies. On the day Frankie moves in across the hall, Ian introduces himself when he hears a child crying and endears himself to Frankie when his son instantly settles down in Ian's arms. A friendship builds where they help each other out but feelings also begin to develop, especially surprising Frankie as he considered himself straight.
Both Frankie and Ian are so sweet. I am totally in love with how much Frankie loves being a dad to his baby boy. Ian starts so adorable and unsure of himself around people he doesn't know but Frankie helps to bring him out of his shell. The trouble starts with neither having been in a relationship like this before - Frankie with a man, Ian being a virgin and both thinking they are not what the other wants. Things develop quickly for the both of them but I didn't really sense that level of connection between them until much further in the book. A reluctance to talk about how their feeling about things also has an impact, causing tension that could have been resolved but their friends do well to calm things during the heated moments. There are several great relationships going on, both MC's best friends and Frankie has a close relationship with his father (Austin, book 4).
A good story and enjoyable addition to the Single Dad's Club.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Candice Blake's Frankie is the fifth book in the Single Dads Club series, and it's wonderful.

Frankie and Ian are two college students who are complete opposites. One's a science geek, the other an athlete. One's the father of a small child, the other a virgin.

This is a story that deals with the internalized homophobia that is rampant in sports. It contains fabulous chemistry and is just downright fun. Their story is hot, including some Daddy play. Seriously, their first times are amazingly steamy. This combo of first time gay sex for one and first time sex for the other makes things fantastic.

Frankie is one hell of a great story, with two loveable men and a riveting storyline. I love this story, love these men and their group of friends and family. However, I continue to dislike the author's writing style. It's short and choppy, with awkward dialogue. I loathe the repeated use of "said." If it wasn't for her conversation scenes, I would be rating all these books with 5 stars.

These guys are absolutely delightful! Brayden and Frankie are moving into a new 3 bedroom apartment their senior year of school. Cyndi & Frankie share Harrison's custody and Cyndi is a bit indifferent to Frankie's feelings. Sometimes, she is accompanied by the guy she cheated on Frankie with, Chad. Chad acts smug and superior. Ian, is a student sharing the apartment across the way with Ren who loves to cook and hopes to be a Chef one day. Ian, an openly gay virgin, is instantly attracted to Frankie, who he realizes is straight. Frankie, feels protective toward Ian. Ian steps up to help Frankie with an Intro to Science, freshman class and Frankie helps Ian to learn to feel confident. Frankie starts to question his sexual preferences. He needs to pass his class to graduate. There are a few important choices and decisions that need to be made that will affect the rest of their lives. Can Frankie be a good dad to Harrison? Will Frankie's feelings toward Ian change? Delicious story. Nicely done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Frankie didn’t expect to be in his final year of collage as a single father nor did he expect to fall in love again so soon after breaking up with his long term girlfriend and mother of his child. That is until he meets Ian. Nerdy cute and adorable Ian is everything Frankie didn’t know he wanted in a relationship.

But it’s not always smooth sailing Frankie has never been with a man and Ian is a virgin.

They are both over thinkers so it leads to a lot of angst in this story and some times it’s just not needed.

While I did really enjoy this story I found some parts I just wanted to bang their heads together and just say hey over it.

Asides from that it was a really cute story with a side bonus of previous characters. Even the sex scenes were cute.

All in all this gets a solid 4 stars from me.

Frankie

I was so glad to see Frankie getting a story as we got to know him in the previous book.

Frankie is now a single dad and moving into an apartment with his best friend Brayden. He is a hockey player and his last year of college.

Ian is super smart and cute and just happens to be Frankie and Braydens neighbor. When they meet there is an instant connection to each other

I enjoyed their story of friendship and falling in love. All the men in this story as fabulous with Harrison which I love to see Nothing is cuter than men loving a baby.

There was just a few things that I never expected with the guys / story. It just seemed out of the blue and didn’t sit right with me. Overall though it is a enjoyable story with such likable characters. I’d love to see Ren get a story.

After reading all the previous books in this series, you created some expectation about what are you going to find in the book 5. Of course as always, the amazingly written characters, with deep emotions, great chemistry between them, leading to romance and hot scenes are a given, but the way every book trapped you in a more and more interesting story is simply brilliant. I couldn’t let go the book since the beginning until the very end. Easy to read, with low angst situations but nice interactions and dialogues, this book is a must have in the series, but you also can read it as standalone.
Loved it!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Frankie
Single new dad and hockey jock Frankie moves into new digs with best friend Brayden. They meet new neighbours Ren and socially awkward nerd Ian after Harrison, Frankie s baby son won't stop crying, well that is until he's in Ian's arms. They all build up a great friendship but Frankie is surprised that his feelings are more than friendly towards Ian as he considers himself straight. Things then start to develop quickly and soon the socially awkward nerd and hockey jock are inseparable with some sexy first time sex
Even though they are complete opposites they complete each other. Great addition to the series. Can we have Ren's story next please?

Brayden and Frankie are back. They are in their last year of college and have moved into a bigger apartment because Frankie has a newborn son. Ian is their neighbor and is sort of a baby whisperer. Ian is attracted to Frankie but he's straight. The book is romantic, funny, low angst, gay for you, the first time, and I loved it. The series keep getting better and better.

I love Candice’s writing style, flowed with ease, warm loveable characters, some angst and chemistry sizzles between Frankie and Ian, in fact the intimate, hot, sensual scenes were a huge turn on.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I definitely recommend this book.

This was such a sweet, grab-you-by-the-feels, poignant, amazing, sexy, lovely, delightful, engaging, fantastic, endearing, and totally awesome twist on the jock/need storyline. I was hooked from the very first page, and would recommend getting this gem immediately.

I have read several in this series and found them enjoyable. That being said, this one missed the mark for me. Couldn't get into the stories or the characters.

Ian was kind of annoying, and Frankie definitely needed to focus on Harrison rather than chasing his obnoxious ass
