I enjoyed reading this story about two people who were meant to be together despite the miles between them. Great descriptions of the location in Mexico!

Chloe is the daughter of the housekeeper at a very wealthy family's mansion. They were given a cottage outback to live in. She has had a crush on the son of the family forever, well, until the night she sees him kissing her sister. The family sends her through college and afterward, she creates her own business where she can work from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. She has two friends, Tia the girl that lived in the mansion next door and Mrs. Kings who lives nearby too. After working hard without a break for many years, Mrs. Kings recommends she takes a vacation. So she takes a vacation in Mexico for a couple of months. It is beautiful there. She can do nothing at all if she wants or they have activities there where she can mingle and go on hikes and such. She is attracted to the standoffish Kenneth and likes to help cutting wood for the cottages. As she falls for Kenneth, she doesn't know if this is just a vacation fling or should she try to hide her heart. She shares with him, but he keeps everything inside.

Kenneth is a recluse billionaire. He had been married before but he neglected his wife by traveling for work to accomplish his goals and dreams, and as time flew by he was spending more time away from home than at home. When he came home after being gone for three months it was to find his wife on her death bed. For the past eight years, he has blamed himself and has had nightmares every night since she died. He has a resort in the hills of Mexico where people rent cabins for weeks or months at a time. He has a caretaker, Carlton, who also takes care of him. When he has to step up to help out himself, he meets Chloe. There is instant attraction and then there is the guilt/blame that holds him back. When he finally gives him, he still tries to shield his heart.

This a story about a young woman, Chloe who has love to give and a family who does not give her any back. Chloe’s mother works for the Alder Family, Mr. Alder has them live in a house on their property and helps pay for their schooling through college. Chloe has a hard time being bully by the wealthy kids and is thankful for her one true friend. Chloe has a major crush on the Alder’s older son, Jacob and can not ell him. Her sister, Kelly and best friend tease her so on the night she goes to tell Jacob has she feels she finds Kelly kissing Jacob and Chloe feels so betrayed she runs and never looks back. Chloe goes on to college and has a good job working for herself but missing having love. When she goes home for a quick visit she goes to she her elderly neighbor who gives her advice on finding something new to love. Chloe ends up booking herself a vacation and finds herself relaxing and a man to spend time with. They have a wonderful time together over several weeks. When Chloe’s vacation is over and she goes home she has a party to attend and discovers one unexpected happiness she never knew she could have! i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Chloe and Kenneth. Chloe grew up as the daughter of a housekeeper who worked for a wealthy family and allowed them to live in a cottage on their estate. When Chloe was a teenager, she was in love with the son of her mother's boss and best friends with their daughter. When Chloe was on her way to confess her feelings, she saw him kissing her sister, which broke her heart and made her jaded toward love. Now years later, Chloe decides to go to Mexico for a vacation and she meets Kenneth, the owner of the resort where she is staying and she finds him standoffish. Kenneth is a billionaire and lives at the resort keeping his distance from people because he is mourning his late wife. When Kenneth meets Chloe, there is an attraction between them, but Kenneth keeps pulling back. Eventually when they do give into their feelings, Chloe wonders if it will only be for the time she is there or if they can find a way to be together. This was a good story. I felt for Kenneth and thought he had to be ready to move on from his wife, but he also didn't want to forget her. Chloe was lonely and i think she needed to believe in love again. Well done.

Chloe is one of the housekeepers daughters and she has a crush on the son of the family her mom works for. She gets her heart broken when she sees him with her sister. This leads her to studying hard so she can get away from there. She ends up achieving her goals and has a home of her own. She decides after a bad date that she needs a vacation and heads to Mexico for a few months. She is drawn to Kenneth the guy that owns the resort that she's staying at. Kenneth has been shut off from everyone since his wife passed because he blames himself for neglecting her for work. However there's something about Chloe that draws him and soon he is spending time with her. Will Chloe be able to get Kenneth to see he can live again? Can they be happy together?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Claire cranks my tractor and floats my boat with this incredibly amazing storyline and enticing plot, showcasing such immense talent, ingenuity, imagination, style, grace, intellect and a unique insight for detail, melds this baby together seamlessly. Observing the instant realization and charged atmosphere, along with a bevy of astonishing twists and startling turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. Presenting incredibly, well rounded scenario's, ramping up the exuberance and adrenaline with such intensity and precision, grounding in it's strength and awe-inspiring in it's depth. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities that blend into amazing personalities. The characters and scenes are written with such realism and depth it makes for one fantastic backdrop. Remarkable job Claire, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

As I got an ARC of this story I plowed through it, but OMG such a wadte of my time. It started quite OK but then as the story went on... There were endless typos upon typos upon typos. There were words missing, past tense and present tense mixed up within the same sentence, him, her, she, he and me mixed. When the sentence was being written out in the third person i.e. his and her then out of the blue came me... It felt like it had not been edited at all or the edotor gave up on this job??? I have never given out one star before and I am sorry for it but please have someone teach you proper English because your idea for a story was not bad at all. I have read other stories by this author before but non has been this badly written, it is almost as if this is not written by the same author as the previous stories I have read written by her.

Chloe has her heart broken when she was a teenager. She was in love with the son of her mother’s employer. Just when she’d gathered the courage to tell him she sees him kissing her sister. Now years later she still hasn’t met a man who can capture her interest and get her blood pumping.

Kenneth owns a few rental cottages in the Mexican mountains, he’s successful but a widower and since he blames himself for Belinda, his wife’s death, he doesn’t think he deserves to be happy ever again. He’s standoffish and can be rather rude.

Chloe needs to let go of old pain and learn what it means to actually fall in love. Kenneth helps her open her eyes to what’s been missing and how to fill the loneliness. Meanwhile Chloe teaches him that he deserves happiness too. This story may be fanciful but it will leave you believing in happy endings.

This is book 2 in the Billionaire Lovers series and it features Kenneth and Chloe. He is a semi-recluse who owns a resort in Mexico and also has MANY issues in regards to his late wife’s death. Kenneth is rude and completely stuck in his misery. Chloe suffered a broken heart when she was younger and it has affected her every relationship. She seems a little desperate for that perfect relationship. It’s time for her to take a vacation to a resort in Mexico.

This story has a stop and start feel to it. There’s no flow whatsoever. The writing kept jumping within the same paragraph, from first person to third person. Also, I often find myself reading the same scene twice because it’s written from his POV and then next from her POV. There were A LOT of loose ends and A LOT of unanswered questions.

Kenneth has lived his life alone for years since his wife died.He holds himself responsible because he didn;t know she was sick.Now he lives in Mexico with a big mansion an cabins for people to rent for vacation.Chloe has never opened herself up for love since she got her heart broken at fifteen when the boy she loves was kissing her sister .Chloe needs to get away she rents one of Kenneth cabins.When they meet sparks fly.There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see whats next by this multi talented author.

Had a good premise but needs some help on the finishing

Alpha Mountain Man is the second book in the Billionaire Lovers series by Claire Angel. I am going to start this review by saying that I liked the premise for this story and thought the story-line progression was good. This is the story of Chloe and Kenneth who are two interesting characters.
Now for my main issue - the last of an editor and proofreading. I have found that this author is a hit or miss with her books and how "finished" they actually are by the time they are pushed out for release. It disappoints me when authors seem to rush through the final phase of finishing a book in favor of maybe meeting a publishing deadline.
So for me I was disappointed by this book and cannot recommend it. I am hoping the next one is of better quality.

Chloe fell in love with a boy at 16 but seen his kissing her older sister. This broke her heart and she said she’d never fall in love again. She grew up and went to college and now has her own business. Now at 23 she needs a vacation as she’s overworked.She goes to Mexico and checks not a resort that Kenneth owns. He looks like a mountain man and is a billionaire that doesn’t look like it or acts like it. He’s still grieving his wife from close to 10 years ago and has guilt about how he’d always worked and didn’t spend time with her. He takes her around the resort and he finally opens up. They get together and they are both healing. But what happens when her vacation is over are they too?

Chloe has her heart broken by her childhood crush at the edge of 16. She vows to become successful and have any man she wants. Years in the future while on vacation she meets a man who may be worthy, Kenneth. Is he the one? "Alpha Mountain Man" isn't as alpha as I'm used to from this genre. Kenneth does resolve some situations quickly and effectively. They both struggle with their past relationship issues. The story has a few issues with continuity and editing. Very descriptive of settings and locations. There is a surprising twist at the end. Worth a read for those who like second chances and a HEA. 3.5 stars

Better to have loved and lost is usually better than to not have loved at all for some. Kenneth and Chole have amazing chemistry but is that enough to give love a chance? Forgetting the past is not possible but maybe making peace with it is the better option. Little do they know that their lives are linked in more ways than one and this is what makes the story realistic. You do get a lot of back story but I could have done with a more simplified version. Would have preferred more about Kenneth and Choles' present than the past.

This is book 2 in the Billionaire Lovers and I loved this story. Chloe has been put off men since she saw her sister with the man she loved but she was only 16 and he was 18 so after that Chloe shuts her heart down, years later Chloe decides to go on a vacation to a resort in the mountains and there she meets Kenneth a man who has many demons himself. Kenneth lost his wife 10 years ago he believes that he had done her wrong so when Chloe and Kenneth meet they are instantly attracted to each other but can they heal their hearts and chase their demons away?. I loved this story it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This story is about two people who didn’t actually have a clue about true love when they were young, but finally found it when it had meaning and would make a difference in their lives. Ken and Chloe’s path to finding true love and happiness, made quite an intriguing story. It kept me so engrossed in the book, as did their sizzling chemistry and interactions. It will take you a little while to recover from the myriad of emotions you will go through, from reading this book, but it is all worth it.

To find love after heartbreak is different for everyone. Some dive into their work or study, others close themselves off to those around them. But when that one person who is meant to be comes around, only then will you heart find the light again.

Chloe is heartbroken, Kenneth is devastated. But when he is around Chloe there is just something that draws him to her. Chloe and Kenneth's relationship is intense, passionate and will take you on an emotional ride.

This was such a wonderful story that I found it hard to put it down.

Chloe heart was broken when she saw her older sister with the man she loved, so she closed off her heart and focused on her business instead. In need of a vacation, she goes to San Miguel and stays at a beautiful resort. Kenneth owns the resort that he named after his late wife. When he sees Chloe he is instantly drawn to her but she thinks his rude and is not interested. But as they spend more time together she sees a different side of him and they end up hooking u for the rest of the vacation together. What will happen when her time there comes to an end?

Chloe and Kenneth have an connection not only chemistry between them, but as well same people they both care about. Like that the characters are written with flaws, while trying to get past heartbreak, they both help one another get closure and hopefully be able to move on with their lives. Good progression into friendship and possibly something more, if they are willing to risk that leap into something rewarding as love.

Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. Just 2 1/2 stars from me. Although not my favorite book from Claire Angel, this was an OK read none the less. Kenneth and Chloe are both characters stuck in their past. He feels guilty about his relationship with his deceased wife. She doesn't trust because of what she views as her sister's betrayal with her teenage crush (this seems dubious at best). They meet on vacation, so is this s fling or the real thing. This book was a little unevenly paced, way too predictable, and not very memorable.

I like the premise behind the story, I just didn't enjoy the writing. It was really hard work getting through the book, the language was strange.
Kenneth and Chloe were a hot pair once they got their issues sorted. And there was a nice surprise at the end which I didn't see coming. That is always a great delight. All in all, the story was very good, hopefully the book will have been proofed before publishing.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I was hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. It took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions and had a great storyline. The chemistry between the two main characters was sizzling and it had some very hot and steamy scenes. It is about 2 very broken people who are avoiding love at all costs, but eventually find healing in each other.

Years later in Mexico on vacation she meets Kenneth a man who is grieving his wife for he's actions tord her. Now Chloe finds that she can't help breaking him out of his darkness.

Nice book. Two broken souls that attract each other and come together through a time of getting to know each other. Kenneth is a lost soul due to the death of his wife that he's grieved because he blames himself for not being there. Chloe is a heartbroken soul due to the guy she had a crush on was attracted to her sister. They are a cute couple that have a mutual person of interest and don't even know it.

This is a beautiful about Chloe and Kenneth, who find that 2 halves definitely make a whole.
Even if it takes awhile to work it out!
The story line is believable
The characters have shown depth.
The chemistry is beautiful and tangible.

Enjoyed the storyline of this book about Chloe and Kenneth who meet at his mountain resort , both have heartbreak in their pasts but are drawn to each other , loved the little twist near the end at Mrs Kings party and Chloe gets a shock , a good one though , a really enjoyable read and a must read

Such a great read, I really enjoyed the story and chemistry. I did however think towards the end the story become a bit rushed and I’m not sure if something was missing from the book or whether it was the way the story continued. Well done Claire!
