Rate this book
Omar expected his time in Salvus to be difficult, but he had no idea what was waiting for him there. His crash course in just what it means to be an alpha in the beta-run city has taught him that there’s no mercy for him… and his goal of rescuing his mate seems impossible — because now he’s the one who needs to escape.

But fleeing Salvus isn’t the only goal. Omar and Van’s tumultuous relationship has always kept them at odds, and even being mates hasn’t helped them to set aside their differences. Even if they escape, they might not be able to overcome the distance between them…

R. Phoenix has an unhealthy fascination with contrasts: light and dark, heroes and villains, order and chaos. She believes that love can corrupt and power can redeem. Her muse is a sadomasochistic slave driver who thinks it's terribly amusing to give her the best ideas when she just got comfortable and warm in bed, and she passes on that torture to her readers. She also tries entirely too hard to be funny, and she mercilessly inflicts her terrible sense of humor upon anyone who speaks to her. She'd love it if you'd say hello!

THIS story was one big rollercoaster of thrilling events, feelings all over, suspense everywhere and it had an amazing plot! I just read it in one sit, breathless.

Ahhhh! Van is still irritatingly compliant. Living with Nathaniel makes him crazy but he still doesn’t turn his back. Salvus is not the promised land Van hoped to find. It’s worse than he ever could imagine.

Salvus civilians have crazy rules. There are Betas ruling, Omegas breeding, and Alphas...? Just read it!
Nathaniel gave Van (and me) a constant whiplash with his different actions. As if he wants to be good for Van and on the other side, he is still from Salvus.

Omar failed to find, or if necessary free, Van. Instead, he is kept hostage by betas from Salvus.
No way to ever get free and unknowing what will happen to him. He only knows he’s hurt.

Then, there is light at the end of the tunnel. From an unexpected corner, he is finally free and Van is there. They find shelter at Jason and Chester’s place. Van and Omar, as mates together, were never simple and now Van has to confess something to Omar. He’s so afraid to tell him.
The rollercoaster isn’t over, there’s still a threat outside!

I had to look twice to like Van, he acted so stubborn and seemingly superficial, I didn’t like him instantly but along the way, I respected him more and more, and at the end with his decisions, I loved him even more! Omar seems the reasonable and empathetic one toward Van. Van can’t handle sweet; he thinks is annoying.

Both men were extremely stubborn, throughout the whole story and this stayed consistent. Greatly done!
The whole story was, viewed from all angles, original, all characters, main and secondary were extraordinary, just like the environments. This journey kept me constantly alert, anything could happen. I love it when a story does that!

It was a heart-stopping, freaking thrilling story! Also amazingly captivating. It was hot, steamy, full of suspense, quite angsty at times and thank goodness there was even some mild tenderness. The end? Was just what my romantic heart hoped for

I start reading this book a little skeptical, because there were some parts of the previous that I didn’t really liked. I wanted to know what might happen next, so I kept reading. I wasn’t prepare for this kind of action. I loved it. It still have a few parts that aren’t something I generally like, but I loved the characters and how exciting everything was. I loved secondary characters as well. This was so much better than I could expect.

Wow. This one kept me up until I finished it. A great continuation and conclusion to Van and Omar's story. The re-capture was well done and I liked Nathaniel's explanation of why he did it. It really fits the messed up world of Salvus. I hope their child leads the rebellion, but I doubt it. Calvin will probably raise Ronan to be a good omega, but I hope not.

I found this world SO INTERESTING and SO SOLID. I loved the kinda long term concept from the outset, I wish more authors were willing to take this much time with world building and character building, rather than focusing on the romance from the beginning. That said, I found the both MCs frustrating because of their naivety, when it got to the point that it seemed to me, they were either being overly obtuse and impractical or just intentionally ignorant. I wish there had been an extra chapter of gooey happily ever after, but that's pretty common for me, and more of a reelection of me as a reader than of the author. I hope we get more books in this universe.

I really wanted to like this book - I read the first and wanted to see some building of a true relationship and bond... but Van is like a spoiled child and I found it really hard to understand why anyone would want to be around him for 5 mins, nevermind full time. I didn't feel the relationship built up and was just left not caring what happened to them at all.

OK

I was really hoping to warm up towards Van and Omar but they practically hated each other throughout the whole story. I just didn't feel any chemistry. In fact I actually preferred Nathaniel. At least he felt... something. The story is a little different and I liked that the twists and turns didn't go where you thought they would.

I was a little disappointed in the book. I was expecting more excitement and twists in their escape out of Salvus. Their reunion and re-connection was too easy and uneventful. It was an okay book, but I just expected more.

After screaming "NO!!!" at the cliffhanger ending of Salvus, I started waiting semi-patiently (not really!) for the release of Escape. OMFG!! was it more than worth it! This fantastic, fast paced, action packed, grab-you-by-the-feels, powerful, gripping, gritty, intense, emotionally charged, wild, crazy, fascinating, enthralling, dark, make-you-want-to-look-away-but-you-can't, amazing, totally awesome, definitely different, and one hell of a thriller had me hooked from beginning to end. I read it in one sitting and ended up with a massive book hangover because I just could NOT put it down. Filled with mystery, mayhem, madness, layers upon layers upon layers of convoluted plots and counter plots, more twists and turns than a roller coaster, and where nothing and no one is what they appear to be, I would DEFINITELY recommend getting this marvelous masterpiece ASAP!!

This book continues not long after Omar enters Salvus, having been convinced he could just wing a rescue mission and is proved wrong very quickly.
Even if he have a fated mate he sort of wanted, it doesn't guarantee that Van wants the same or will be happy to see him.

There was a taste of what the Alpha's went through in the first book, this proves things are worse than they seem and in the end Omar is the one that needs rescuing.
And with Van keeping a big secret, well so far it's small, things become interesting after they leave. Though I never warm up to Nathaniel, he still seems shifty even after the nicer things he do. He still wanted an incubator, and he got one.

I liked how it all came together in the end with a throwback to the start of book one, both still the same but different.

THIS WAS PERFECT

This is the conclusion of Van, the not wanting to be, Omega. Omar, his Alpha gets trapped in Salvus trying to get him back. From the beginning these two were an unlikely duo. Fated mates. Van just wanted to escape to a better life. Omar just wanted him to be happy. They both pay the price at Salvus. This story is exciting, just what you would expect from Omar and Van. The conclusion of this story was everything I had hoped for and MORE. Thank You R. Phoenix for sharing this story. I enjoyed every emotional moment of it. These two were never going to give you an easy time. The first book SALVUS: THE OMEGA'S ALPHA is where this story begins. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE TWO BOOKS!!!!!
