Wild by Nature
While on vacation, Hayden Blake and his ex-boyfriend get into an ugly argument. Needing some space, Hayden storms out of their rented cabin and gets not only lost it in the dense woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but injured, as well.

Hayden just had a fight with his boyfriend Chris. Unfortunately he didn’t think he would get lost in the woods when he stomped out of the cabin they rented. But here it is, he is lost, twisted his ankle, possibly broke his finger, and has no cell phone reception. And it’s getting colder and darker.
When Kurt goes out hunting early in the morning he didn’t expect to find a dead body. When he is just about to call someone to take care of it, the ‘dead body’ opens his eyes.
When Hayden wakes up he isn’t sure where he is. He remembers a man rescuing him. But no man looking like wet dream Thor is coming to his rescue.
But when Kurt walks in, Hayden is sure he died and gone to heaven. He must have done something good for the gods to give him this perfect daddy of a man!
Kurt isn’t sure what to do with Hayden calling him Daddy Thor. He knows he likes being called Daddy, but he’s not sure why….
I really liked this one. Kurt was a wonderfully dominant, but sweet (man) virgin daddy, and Hayden was cheeky yet sweet. I loved how Hayden was so open about his kinks and calling Kurt Daddy from the start.
Since Hayden’s boyfriend broke up with him over the phone there was no cheating (I was worried about that at first). But I do have to say that I didn’t like the parts with the ex-douche Chris. He was just a little too much of an asshole. And Hayden didn’t tell him he was hurt at first and let Chris walk all over him. Sure he got what was coming to him in the end, but I would have liked it better if his involvement in the story had been over with in the first few pages.
Still, this was a very nice novella without any relationship angst and with some hot daddy kink.

This is a fun, hot little number with a sweet and spicy epilogue. The Daddy kink is mild (some spanking and begging), which is just how I like it.
Hayden was a bit too dramatic and wishy-washy, but I really liked Kurt (aka, Daddy Thor). He had a kinky streak a mile long, but was also kind and hilariously oblivious.
The scene with Hayden's ex was unnecessary imo, but the HEA ending made up for that.

For me, this book is a mixture of phenomenal and bad. The good outweighs the bad, but I still can't get it out of my head that our mountain man, who is actually pretty well integrated into local society and obviously reads a lot, should have absolutely no idea about sex between men. I get that he lives in isolation and has no idea about the internet, but none not at all?
This strange naivety is also outweighed by the fact that he is so completely accepting, not only of Hayden but also of his own inclinations. The Daddy-kink comes out of nowhere and is so insanely hot ...

Holy smokes that's hot! Wild By Nature is a fantastic novella, made even better when performed by Michael Ferraiuolo. Gruff, older (and virginal) mountain man meets sweet, somewhat jaded, power-bottom - well I don't have to tell Mr. Ferraiuolo's fans that he kills this one.
Lynn Van Dorn always writes incredible relationships, and the speed at which she binds these two men is really something. They just need each other so beautifully, and their attraction simply works.
Fun little story, but mostly it's about the sparks between the couple and how beautifully Michael Ferraiuolo brings it all to life.

I love everything Lynn writes. Her voice and writing style is fun, snarky, smart, and quick. Love it. Can wait to read the extra epilogue once this is on amazon.
ETA: Got the amazon version with the extra epilogue! I just love Daddy Thor just as much as the first read-through.

Daddy Thor was a virgin and did not know about the daddy kink and life style until he did some research at the library and then he was all in. This is suppose to be sweet and cute with daddy kink and virgin hero mcs but I have to admit I just was so taken aback by location.
Let me explain I’m from Michigan and went to college in the UP where this story takes place and maybe it was just to close to home for me but I couldn’t dispel reality and get into this. I just kept saying this would never happen in this small ass town in the UP. It’s a me thing not a you thing. It kind kinda took me out of the whole thing lol 😂 but I did enjoy this when I tried to blankly drown out the setting.

Cute insta-love and insta-Daddy novella with a side of wilderness rescue and hurt/comfort. I didn’t find Hayden especially likable but I still had a good time reading this, mostly for Kurt and his homestead.

Hayden essentially comes off as a brat. It's rather boorish to repetitively call Kurt "Thor", "Daddy Thor" and "Daddy", when he keeps telling you, "It's Kurt". (Not to mention it's rather annoying that Hayden flip flops between thinking of Kurt as Kurt and as Thor.
Also, kind of squicky that Kurt notes how young Hayden looks, that he could pass as a teen, and then constantly refers to him as "kid". Do I sense age play coming into play?
Then you have Heather, the local rich bitch, who is also the librarian.... who discovers Kurt is gay and plans to gossip all about it. Because it's super cool to out people. And yet, even though Kurt acknowledges that Heather is going to tell everyone (and apparently doesn't care) and that soon enough everyone will know he is gay, he goes out of his way to go to the nearest "anonymous Walmart" to buy condoms and lube.
This could have been cute, but between Hayden's personality and Kurt apparently being such a mountain man that he needs the town librarian to show him how to use the computer catalogue to help him find out how to do gay sex (which it's apparently presumed they'll be doing anal, because apparently that's what you do if you're a gay man.... rather presumptuous), and then said librarian proceeds to show him how to use the internet to look it up.

I loved the ebook, but the audio kicked that love up to a million.
Hearing that scene where Daddy Thor is looking up how to do what he was curious about in the library made me die laughing.

This was a good story and I enjoyed it. I probably would have given it 4 stars if not for the unnecessary Daddy kink. It wasn’t really an important part of the story so mostly I could ignore it. Obvious, this is a big kink for a lot of people. It’s just kind of a turn off for me.

Wild By Nature is a fun, sweet, and super sexy story. Despite the rather dire circumstances at the beginning with Hayden’s injuries, the book is overall light and easy as Kurt and Hayden fall for each other and have lots of sex in Kurt’s cozy cabin. Kurt has a sweet innocence that is a nice contrast with his super competence in pretty much everything. I liked the bit of role reversal in that Hayden, as the younger partner, was far more experienced with sex and with Daddy kink, and Kurt was the one who was learning what he wanted and what it all meant to him. Like I said, super sexy, sweet, and easy.
In some ways it’s a bit too easy though. The men know each other for what seems like maybe a week at most before they are declaring their endless love and making plans to spend their future together. So things happen fast, and without a lot of discussion as to just how their very different lives will blend.

So! I read a short by Dorn and a friend recommended more of her books so I decided to delve into it. For sure this was a good choice. Her writing is funny, sexy, and just enjoyable. I blew through this book in a little over an hour, so it was just the right length for me. Not that I mind sitting with a book for a long while, but I enjoy shorter reads like this, too. I didn’t see any errors in terms of writing mechanics and editing, and the pacing was very good!
Characters wise, I liked Kurt and Hayden both. Hayden was a sassy, teasing twink who enjoyed flirting and was honest about what he wanted. It was like a breath of fresh air because I’ve been reading a lot of MCs lately who are shy virgins and the typical traits that come from them. His issues with his ex that come up later did feel a little cartoonish just because I didn’t imagine it’d be so public, but otherwise I was cheering for him and Kurt.
Kurt was this sort of gentle giant vibe to me, someone who cared for his animals and living a more laid back lifestyle. His foray into Daddy kink was amusing even if a bit fast in discovery, and I liked that he didn’t even stutter much on coming out. I can see why some people say this was unrealistic, but I don’t think he was purposefully in the closet, he just hadn’t found someone he wanted to pursue. Now that he had, he felt like being honest about it. I’m not sure I believe going to the library to find books on gay sex, but y’know, it’s cute.
I’m glad Heather wasn’t a villainess trope, she was actually quite funny to me although I could nitpick at the problematic issue of “gay best friends” and all that. At least she was honest when she said she’d spread gossip. I was happy to see her in the epilogue. I also liked the little spotlights we got of Hayden’s mother and her support for her son.
I was very amused by the Crisco reference, the way small towns work, all the little things I got and understood. The epilogue was just plain adorable and funny although I would’ve loved to see a proposal, but glad to see how all Hayden’s lingering issues sorted.
All in all, a great book!

So! I read a short by Dorn and a friend recommended more of her books so I decided to delve into it. For sure this was a good choice. Her writing is funny, sexy, and just enjoyable. I blew through this book in a little over an hour, so it was just the right length for me. Not that I mind sitting with a book for a long while, but I enjoy shorter reads like this, too. I didn’t see any errors in terms of writing mechanics and editing, and the pacing was very good!
Characters wise, I liked Kurt and Hayden both. Hayden was a sassy, teasing twink who enjoyed flirting and was honest about what he wanted. It was like a breath of fresh air because I’ve been reading a lot of MCs lately who are shy virgins and the typical traits that come from them. His issues with his ex that come up later did feel a little cartoonish just because I didn’t imagine it’d be so public, but otherwise I was cheering for him and Kurt.
Kurt was this sort of gentle giant vibe to me, someone who cared for his animals and living a more laid back lifestyle. His foray into Daddy kink was amusing even if a bit fast in discovery, and I liked that he didn’t even stutter much on coming out. I can see why some people say this was unrealistic, but I don’t think he was purposefully in the closet, he just hadn’t found someone he wanted to pursue. Now that he had, he felt like being honest about it. I’m not sure I believe going to the library to find books on gay sex, but y’know, it’s cute.
I’m glad Heather wasn’t a villainess trope, she was actually quite funny to me although I could nitpick at the problematic issue of “gay best friends” and all that. At least she was honest when she said she’d spread gossip. I was happy to see her in the epilogue. I also liked the little spotlights we got of Hayden’s mother and her support for her son.
I was very amused by the Crisco reference, the way small towns work, all the little things I got and understood. The epilogue was just plain adorable and funny although I would’ve loved to see a proposal, but glad to see how all Hayden’s lingering issues sorted.
All in all, a great book!

This was a sweet, funny short story about a guy named Hayden who gets lost in the woods and sprains his ankle after running out of a fight with his boyfriend and is saved by a hot older man (aka Daddy Thor as Hayden promptly nicknames him) who also happens to be a blushing virgin when it comes to gay sex. They discover they both have a “Daddy” kink and fall in love (in that order). Cute read if your not in the mood for anything serious.

Well, this is really not my cup of tea. I really, really didn't like Hayden. At all. He is everything I dislike in a person and hitting all my no buttons. So, even if I liked Kurt, the whole romance failed to entice me. Add to that that the whole thing happens in what? a week? and, yeah... no.
At least, Michael Ferraiuolo did an excellent job with the narration :P

New to me author. This is a mm contemporary story set in USA. Main characters are Hayden and Kurt. This has an age gap and daddy kink. Story was over too soon and I’d love to read more about these two.

I love the way they are brought together and how Kurt cares for Hayden. I also like how the whole town rallies around them. I'm so glad Kurt showed Hayden a way to get what they both want.

The author isn’t very skilled as he has given Kurt two different hair colors in chapter one. Also there’s mystery of Hayden’s wallet , Chris says Hayden has it but earlier in the chapter Hayden says he hasn’t

This was just okay. I had high hopes for this when it first started, and the storytelling itself was really great. Kurt sounds absolutely gorgeous, can we all agree? And his personality was absolutely precious. Those two things aside, I didn't love much else about the book.
Hayden and his ex-boyfriend, Chris, were absolutely awful. I hated any scene with him in it and how he made Hayden act.
Hayden and his ma's phone conversations? Gross, gross, gross.
I'm not a daddy/boy fan, at all, and this was that overloaded. So, it was never going to be my favorite.

Hayden wanders off into the woods after his boyfriend dumps him while on vacation. He never expect to fall or get hurt, but that is just the way Hayden's life is going right now. When Kurt stumbles across Hayden, at first he thinks he is dead. Kurt doesn't think a pretty boy like Hayden would ever want him or even to stay with him.
Hayden and Kurt were adorable, opposites that you don't expect to see together but they totally work together. Hayden brings Kurt out of his shell and teaches him all sort of new things, while Kurt tones Hayden down and makes him realize he can have what he wants if he is willing to work for it.

This is a light, sweet love story, gently written and very enjoyable, my first with this author.
Kurt is my kind of dream man, huge, hunky, and strong, but gentle at heart. He is such a sweetheart to Hayden who he rescued lost in the forest. Kurt has spent so many years living alone, confused about his sexuality, sooo, we all know what's going to happen next, right?

Sweet and enjoyable story. MC1 gets lost in the woods, Daddy Thor rescues him, and they are increasingly adorable together for the rest of the short book. This didn’t tip me into “too sweet” territory, it was more flirty than fawning. Definitely recommend!

Sweet, funny and sexy, with just the right amount of angst/drama to make the story interesting without losing the humour or lightness. I really enjoyed this novella!
