More happens in this issue than the first, which isn’t saying too much but it matters. These comics are so short that it’s hard to review them in a way that doesn’t reference what I said about the first. This one uses the cinematic feel more to its advantage than the first one did. There are fewer wasted panels but there are still quite a few. It feels like a movie and that is, once again, a strength and weakness wrapped up into one. There is more plot in this issue, which was great. I still feel like I’ve only gotten a vague introduction to the situation and characters but I just ordered the next two issues so I’m hoping they’re going to keep getting better as they go.
I like that there are more horror elements here. It is another stepping stone in moving the story forward, but one with more meat on it's bones. I gives us a look at how the digital horror elements of Marble Hornets will look moving forward, and I think that is really neat. It is one of the main draws for me when it comes to this comic series. Getting to see the horror of Marble Hornets get to evolve on the page, it is so great. Not too much of it here overall, but I like what is here and I like getting to see more of Jessica struggling. Girl is always struggling, but fuck if she isn't going to struggle more now.
