Rate this book
Sensible women do not believe in love at first sight. And Jane Nash is one sensible woman (well, most of the time). But when her eyes--and lips--land on a complete stranger at a baseball game, Jane feels like she's hit a grand slam as the crowd roars its approval. However, in the chaos of the stadium, she loses Mr. Perfect in a throng of fans and foam fingers.

Determined to find him again, Jane sets off on a mission for that baseball fan of her dreams. Suddenly, she gets a crash course in Karma, learning quickly that Karma's one tricky wench. But Karma has plans of her own--and Jane is about to get everything she's ever wanted--and nothing she ever expected.

Christine Zolendz is one of those authors for me that I can't wait to read when she has a new book out. She writes a wide variety of romance, from paranormal, contemporary and romantic comedy. I also have a confession, rom-com is not my favorite, but being Christine Zolendz, and it looked like a fast fun read I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a go.

5.5

That's the number of hours of sleep I had last night. Just five and a half hours. This rom-com did, in fact, have me LOL-ing. It was way more addicting than I expected and I finished it nearly as soon as my kids got on the bus.

Jane Nash is awkward. Her awkwardness reminded me of Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed or Renee Zellweger in Bridget Jones. I pictured so much of this playing out like a movie. I remember thinking last night somewhere past midnight, so I guess this morning, that I could see this being a Netflix rom-com but Netflix might have to tone down the guy with a horse head, lube and no sense of direction.

If you're looking for a good laugh mixed with a lightness that's refreshing and comical, then this is your book.

I enjoyed this light-hearted story immensely and I look forward to reading more of Jane Nash's story.

I laughed so hard reading this book! I was all TEAM NATE, and then I did a 180. I love this couple and can't wait to read the next book. And there was no cliffy!
Thank you Ms. Zolendz for putting this in KU and for not making me wait for more than a month for the next book!

The blurb didn't give anything away so I went into this story completely blind. The story starts with Jane on a baseball game accompanied by her obnoxious co-worker. And she has this magical kiss with a stranger that she has decided their entire future in that very moment. This stranger, Nate, turns out to be her best friends boyfriend.

Funnily enough, I though this entire story was about Jane and Nash and it had me on edge. I don't know how the author did it but I had a not so good vibe about Nate from the moment I started reading about him.

I really enjoyed the whole story because it was so unlike anything else I've ever read. It wasn't about two people who has a magnetic pull to each other. It was a story of growth. I saw all of Jane's insecurities and they felt real. They didn't feel like a hot girl calling herself ugly but someone who couldn't manage to lover herself they way she was. Jane struggled with that a lot and her best friend Julia was no help. Julia was narcissistic and her entire relationship with Nate was a show for the people - at least that's what it felt like to me.

Julia and Nate tried to set her up with people who weren't exactly worth a time or moving half way across the country. Their insecurity was clear but not as vocal as Jane's. Somewhere deep down i felt Julia was jealous of Jane. And they way all of these emotions were conveyed was so amazing.

And most of all I loved how her relationship with Dex evolved from obnoxious co-worker she couldn't stand to a reliable friend. And their relationship wasn't a fantasy like we read in most books but it felt as though something like reality was happening.

In the end, the heroine of the story was perfect because she wasn't. Her issues were real because they weren't huge. The hero also wasn't perfect but he had actual flaws. He wasn't an obtainable Greek god of fantasies but someone to still aspire to be around. There's more I want to say about this book but I guess this much is enough.

I can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

This series was not nearly as bad as some of the reviews have made it out to be. Some majorly harsh over the top reviews given.

Series rating of 4, pending the final book.

Zolendz never fails me. She is one author I can pick up a book for and just know I am going to get a great story line with likable characters.

I know this is classified as Rom Com, and it is funny, but do know it can get emotional. Well for me anyway. Also, know that at some point or another you will want to slap all of the characters. Yes, all of them. But even with that I still loved them, well Janie and Dex any ways...the others are still up for question...

Dex will have you falling head over heels. If you can't tell, I'm TEAM DEX. All. The. Way. Janie will make you want to hug the shit out of her, while screaming at her to wake the fuck up. Nate will leave you wanting to give him a sharp, hard kick to the balls. He's a PRICK. And Julia...well let me just say I don't have a single nice thing to say about that bitch. Jealousy isn't becoming, sweets.

The ups and downs will resemble a thrilling roller coaster ride, one you'll want to be on forever.

I can't wait for book 3 to release. I NEED that baby NOW. The wait is killing me.

I really wanted to like this book, but it just made me so sad...and angry for the heroine. I thought the plot was really great, but as the story unfolds, it's very clear that her Mr. Perfect is a horrible human being. Her best friend didn't act like a friend at all. And her boss basically prostituted her out for a story, which I'm sure is illegal. It was not a feel good book and I certainly didn't laugh out loud. The ending redeemed the story, but it made it seem like Jane was naive, a pushover, and had horrible taste in friends and men. It was a solid 3 stars for me.

Super recomendado!!

What happens que you meet the love of your life in a baseball game and you lose him in the crowd? that's just what happens to Jane and with her friend Julia tries to find him, but when she does is in the worse way possible, thanks karma por putting him on her path on a twisted way. A totally entertaining book, I read it in one afternoon, it made me laugh out loud and couldn't put it down, of course when I finish it I started the next one. Highly recommended!!

This is the first in a three part series, that combined, would make one really long novel!

The first starts with the main character Jane, as she's attending a baseball game with work colleagues. During the "kiss-cam" she finds herself on the jumbo-tron with the cute guy sitting next to her. The epic kiss leads to some very awkward encounters as she obsesses over the kiss-guy, and finally discovers who he is.

The first book introduces the main characters, and absolutely does not go in the direction I thought it would. It reminded me just a bit of One Day in December (see review here: ) but it took a very different turn.

This isn't a stand-alone, and ends with a HEA, but continues in the second book when their relationship faces several challenges.

It was too over the top and just mean and not funny at all. I have loved this authors others books but not this one. Also, I was too vested in Nate by the time the author decided to make someone else the hero. This author can write sexual tension and humor so well but this book was missing all those things. Not for me!
