Are you interested in unconventional storytelling? How about a story where the beginning, middle and the end are on the same page? A narrative that makes you frown on page 1, nod in agreement on page 2 and chuckle on page 3?
How about reading short fiction then? I highly recommend Small is Big by Rafaa Dalvi. The long and short of fiction in endearing small portions!

The book has something for everyone. It has humor – a few of slap stick variety, playing on puns, it has punch where you get a most unexpected twist, it has philosophy, it has romance and it has horror – stories that chill your spine.

Small is big - volume 3 is a collection of hundred microtales which are all different, like some them are contemporary while some are spooky and many more. I was thoroughly amazed and happy when I finished the book because this was not only a page turner but also a totally addicting read. I'll admit, I haven't read the other two volumes but I'm definitely going to read them now and honestly I would recommend buying the paperback because I think this is a book that you can pick up anytime and fall in love with the writing style over and over again.

Like I said, I have never read any microtales before, sure I have heard about them from other readers and surprisingly this book was a good way to get into this new form.

From what I gathered is that, Microtales are simple and profound at the same time, the author has to spin a tale with just few words and satisfy the reader's appetite for a convincing story. I cannot even begin to comprehend how difficult it must be but the author did an amazing job in portraying each and everyone of them with accurate precise.

No tales were butchered or even felt like a forceful implications of imagination rather the whole narration just moved smoothly. All stories seem to have a touch of personal attachments like sentiments and it is exactly why I was able to connect this book.

I would recommend this to all because if you are an ardent reader then you would not want miss this book by any chance. So, yes I'll highly recommend everyone to pick it up for your next read.

Micro fiction is not something that I actively read or search for. But when I came across this collection, I was intrigued and I picked this one. And I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying this book thoroughly.

The themes of the snippets range from dark to heartwarming and sometimes hilarious! I loved the dark snippets more since it mostly was unexpected and left me wondering what the hell did I just read now. I love it when books make me feel that way. Almost all of the micro tales became my favorite, so I won't be able to list them all. I highly suggest you to check this one out. It's really really short book and can be read in less than half an hour.

It is collection of beautifully crafted miro tales . Each tale or story is hardly 4-5 lines . The stories have characters and each story is complete despite being short in length .
The book was very interesting as the author had managed to cover a good number of genres including romance , horror and triller.
It was a highly refreshing read , I recommend it for beginners as well seasoned ones who likes to something in between .

Title: Small is Big- Volume 3
Author: Rafaa Dalvi
Rating: 4
Blurb: This book is a collection of 100 more micro tales, there is volume one and volume two. The best part is that is this book of micro tales consists of thrillers, thought-provoking quotes from daily life.
Here the writer talks about changing the lives of people with one smile at a time
My review:
There are a hundred short quotes for poems in this book of different genres. This is a kind of unconventional storytelling which the story might be of 6 words or even two sentences. There are three volumes of small is big, and is a must-read if you like reading, short stories for if you find it difficult to concentrate for a long time while reading. This book can be easily read while travelling or while sipping hot coffee.
The author has brilliantly narrated an entire story within two sentences, to 8 words which are very incredible and difficult to do. To the language and narration is very easy and you can conveniently read this book.
Some proses use dark humour, which is very useful. Micro tales is making a big thing today in the world of the internet where people are losing touch of reading. The language used is also very adaptive and easy to read. This is a very lovely book, and long stories have been written using two sentences maximum.
The best thing is it hardly takes an hour to read the entire book. I would enjoy reading the first two parts because when I started reading this book, I could not keep it down before completing the whole book.
My favourite lines are:“Cheer up. You’re thirteen now. I was eight when I got married. You’ll never look this beautiful ever again.”
“I will Ammi when I wear a school uniform.”

Small is big Vol 3, 100 more tiny tales by Rafa Dalvi, soaked in various emotions. Needless to say each one is better than other. I have read Volume 1, missed Vol2( going to read that too as well soon), I loved the Vol1 and loved this even more. Some of the snippets points to hard realities of life, others touching you deeply. Some tales leave a smile and some leave you saddened. Blame it to my dumbness, one odd, I couldn’t understand.
Overall the book is a quick, quirky, interesting and thought provoking read.
Highly recommended, if you are looking for a quick and light read.

After the success of two volumes of Small is Big, Rafaa Dalvi is back with Small is Big – Volume 3, a final collection of 100 more micro tales that will provide you a rich experience and the best part is that there’s a story for everyone, including YOU!

The book is really very well written. Though the book is short but the words in those 100 micro tales are surely everlasting. A book which needs to be read and understood by each and everyone. The cover and the title is really intriguing.

My favorites from all are -

After our break-up, I read all your love letters again. That’s when I noticed that the count of ‘I’ was 786 while that of ‘You’ was only 143.

“Mumma, google knows everything. General knowledge, news, weather, everything.” “Does it know the first word that you spoke?”

New passwords. New city. New social circle. New beginning. But she still couldn’t end the previous chapter of her life.

If you like these three micro tales, I'm sure you're going to like each and every other in this book. Fun part is it's short and an on the go read. Do give it a read!

Wow!
This is the first time I am reading a micro tale book and man I loved it.

These were just 2-3 liners for different words/titles but they were so interesting, deep, cute, dark, funny and what not.

It was a new genre for me and I fell for it.

One of the title I loved was :

Head

Daughter comes home with a shaved head. “You’re not alone anymore.” She tells her cancer-stricken mother.

P.S. : If you want to enjoy this book more, first try to write your micro tale for each title and then read what the author has written ;)

I have read vol.2 of this book, so I was eagerly waiting for this one. I don’t know where to start reviews. I love reading because to me I get high while reading a good book, poetry or verses. And this book is one of those books. This consists of 100 micro tales. The words, lines or verses whatever we say, made me high while reading this book. This book consists of we can say verses or tales in limited sentences . It’s difficult to write these type of literature as the author has limited words and she has to write stories in those limited words and those lines has to be beautiful plus story should be interesting and completely serving its purpose. And author has done really well job here. So hats off to the author. The book is short read. I finished it in a single sitting. Written in simple yet beautiful language. I liked the word play plus storyline of each titles. Though they are in limited sentences, all the verses describes a perfect stories. I won’t compare this with author Rupi Kaur’s book as it would be an insult. But go for it if you like those kinds of book. It’s amazing. Here are few examples of my favourite lines. Hope you enjoy reading it. Recommended from my side.

Boy
“After three abortions, the orthodox family was finally blessed with a boy. The boy organises pride marches now and is the world’s youngest LGBT icon.”

“Clipped wings. Died in golden cage.”

Name of the book - Small is Big - Volume 3 by Rafaa Dalvi.
Stars given - 1000 on 5 stars…
My take on the book-
I loved it.
Yeah it's as simple as that.
In the beginning of the book and also the blurb it said that there is one for everyone, including YOU and I was like uhu, sure why not.
And now here we are with me trying to see if I can get my hands on the first two volumes.
So this is a collection of short shorts, like 4 to 5 lines in each story but they make a good mark.
Let me rephrase that, they stay in your mind long after they are done.
Some of them are dark while others are real cute, but the key is to think and think and then realizing there is a different side as well.
So yeah, me likey.
I am this close to finding the Author online and asking him out for coffee, cause this book was aaaaaamazing.

This book is a Collection of microfiction tales. It consists of 100 short stories.Writing style of author is remarkable and impressive. Language is lucid and easy to understand. The elements may it be humour, love ,or any other , all of them were portrayed beautifully. Conveying the matter or moral in such short lines is not easy yet he has done it effortlessly.I became a fan of microfiction after reading this book. I am unable to mention a most favourite as I cherished almost every story. I'm gonna read the other two volumes too!!!.

I recommend this book to everyone to give it a read. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Book: Small is Big
Author: Rafaa Dalvi
Format: Kindle
Pages: 107
Genre: Micro Tales

Centrally, the book is unique and iconic in encapsulating sentiments in the small yet meaningful micro tales. The expressions of the author through his words are wonderful and oriented in an illusive perfection. The book captures all the genres of relationships and emotions into the perfect combination of few yet direct words.

My Take: It is a very short and sweet read. Some micro tales deal with darkness, the other with exuberance. All in all, it was an unique experience to read the set of enchantments from daily life experiences. The book is formatted in extra ordinary contrast giving the pace of time and consideration to the readers. Some of the tales were as short as one line, and unexpectedly, they gave a sense of different perception. I enjoyed gulping it as a whole in just one sitting!

Critique: Some of the tales are so far fetched which turns out to be meaningless but some of the others reach the zenith from there. The book is a bit mis matched in terms of placement of tales in a sequence. Other than that, the tales are light, witty, soft and yet sumptuously dark!

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5

P.S. Which is your favourite microtale? Mine is

The villagers hurled firebombs to drive away the elephants and burnt the forest.

The sun now burns them as they look for a shade.

𝑺𝒚𝒏𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒔: This is a collection of short/micro tales.
𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: The book is a collection of microtales that are about various themes. The author has managed to capture a broader perspective in a few words. Some of the tales are simple like focusing on love or marriage or even break up. While others suggest a more darker or sinister background.
However, the tales with a darker theme were more or less the same. They suggested almost the same tale or ending and thus there was no surprise or enjoyment in reading those. The only thing that I can interpret out of this is that the author shows how the same incident or tale can be written differently.
Coming to the aesthetic, while I understand what the author is trying to depict with the cover, I wish it were a bit different, more colourful perhaps.
There isn't much to say about the book, except that there is a tale for every genre. And readers will definitely like reading them. Such tales draws on our imagination and the more bigger it is, the better the tales are.

The habit of reading is a dying art in this generation of memes. Long posts do not get much attention. We're too busy to know the whole plot and always try to jump to the summary first.

So, it is very obvious that Micro tales are popular nowadays.

Though it is not a tiresome job for the reader but it does take a lot of concentration, skills and a proper mindset to pen down the extreme details in specific number of words.

Small is Big- Volume 3 is 'another' collection of 100 micro tales by Rafaa Dalvi.

Very simple words are chosen to describe the complex situations, to create the perfect imagination and to make you understand the worth.

100 micro tales, alphabetically organized, each of them are unexpected. You would be reading a love story now in this page, a thriller on the next page, or a comedy after that.
Very fast paced. It took less than an hour to finish.

A light yet interesting read.
I will recommend everyone above 18 to read this book.

The whole journey will happen so smoothly that you will not realize you have already finished it.

A collection of 100 micro tales, full of Irony and paradoxes. Mostly two, three sentences long, first sentence sets the premise while the last sentence is always a catch either ironic, paradoxical or consequential. The subject matter of the tales is mostly based on personal relationships, society, and psychology.
Few tales which I think are the best are Found, Hat, Mark, Mean, Number, Photo, Prison, Proud, Red, Rescue, Responsible, Review, Sale, Same, Smell, Stay, Treasure, Unfamiliar, Vote, Waste, Weeping, Welcome, Wish and Writer.

This is the third volume of the series “Small is Big”, I haven't read previous books though this book has made me read previous ones too. Book is short, only about a hundred pages long and can be finished within half an hour easily.

Who should read: Everyone
Who should not read : Those who despise micro tales.

I read the blurb and I was intrigued to read the book. The cover of the book could've been much better and the title is appropriate to the book theme. The theme is that of short stories and they cover a good range. There's something for everything. There were so many micro tales which stole my heart and there were a lot to which I could relate to. There are emotions bleeding from the tales. There are a 100 of them and they range from love to horror. It isn't easy to write a story in two sentences and the author has topped it beautifully. I loved the book except for a few tales which I found too cliche.

There are some books that stay with you for long, this is one of them.

The book is a collection of numerous micro tales. The best thing about these utterly dark, humorous and heart-melting stories is that it was kept me on my toes. I was wondering what will happen next and once I knew that, I was like, WHAT DID I JUST READ?!

With the lucid and amazing writing style of the author, I enjoyed each and every word of this beautiful anthology. Even with the limited sentences in each tale were able to communicate with me at their best. The title totally made sense, “SMALL IS BIG”.

Soothing and haunting

As a fan of micro tales, i bought this book with less expectations just to kill my time while at work. But somehow it turned out to be a masterpiece. I'm less in words to explain what this book did to me.
The short tales are unexpectedly thrilling, delicately designed and brutally twisted to make you read them a hundred times to extract the worth.
The tales will kill you, haunt you, shake you, drag you and moreover it'll make you live.

Micro tales but Macro perspective

The beauty lies in brevity and this just proved right. The book is collection of Short stories in spread across various themes of life and has strong emotional connect and strong message to it.
The takes do remind me of Terribly tiny takes, but the writing style is unique and eclectic. The entire books has a freshness to it.

Small is Big by Rafaa Dalvi is a collection of 100 microtales which contains deep meanings hidden within them. All the stories are very different from each other and very interesting too. Some of them are quite emotional and you will feel a deep connection around yourself with the story. The stories were so engaging that it kept me hooked until I finished reading it. There are three volumes of Small is big, and is a must-read if you like reading, short stories. I read Volume 3 as the first from the Small is big series and I loved how in every micro tale there was a big message to give out to the masses.
This book is a compilation of 100 micro tales which are connected with the harsh reality of life.
When you go through each micro tale there is something or the other strong message or a strong emotion being given out by the author and surges oneself to bring about a change in the world and end the cruelty or greed of Humanity.
The book is a short read since it has only 100 pages but even though a short read, it leaves a greater impact on you even after the book has been read.
One of my favourite micro tale is:
The women started farming on the same land where their families were slaughtered.
War took everything from them except their will to survive.
Worth the read and some stories will really astonish you as to how such few words can give out such powerful messages.

"Small is big" is aptly justified by the short tales or say micro tales ,which will trigger a various emotions .Being short tale , commendable it is for the work of the author to create such interesting stories mostly one of the best I ever read.In a number of tales which were of horror genre , I got goosebumps too . Some of the stories though I didn't understand . But most of them were curiosity piquing and filled with thrill that too only in few words . I recommend SMALL IS BIG to everyone to get a new experience,to read interesting stories in few words and it is a short read so you can easily complete it in a day even that too in one hour at the most. I purchased the book online and amazon Kindle app is very convenient medium to read where you can also change settings like font and size according to your preferences.

This is my second read of the author and I had read the first book in this series. As usual it is amazing especially the way the contents are placed lexicographically.
Some of my favorites were
Alzheimer’s
I spent time with Dad after twenty years, only after he got the Alzheimer’s. It made him forget everything and made me remember everything.

Proud
I wiped the blood from my nostril. Dad should’ve been proud of me for standing up for the helpless, but he wasn’t. He glared at me with his blackened eye as mom cowered behind me.

Responsible
A duster falls on him when he enters the room. “Who is responsible for this mischief?” Everyone raises their hand.

It is a great book for quotes and can be finished in a single sitting. I liked it.

'Small is the new big' is a collection of 100 micro fictions and worth a quick read. Apart from the general motivation messages or success messages or rather love messages, this is a compilation of very dark micro fictions that would leave you stunned ,as a reader. There are micro-fictions on murder, cannabalism and a few aiming at aim to be emotional appeals. However, there could have been more diversification as taking so many dark fictions at a time is difficult to digest and turns out to be a tadbit disturbing. Overall, you can leaf through it and the writer has done a commendable work with the imagination.

In this case, small is indeed a lot. 'Small is Big' by Rafaa Dalvi, the third in the series, is a compilation of 100 micro tales each containing a flavour of its own. The tales infused with the right amount of thrill is the perfect combination to a pleasant, light read.

The author delicately handled all the different topics he penned down as micro tales. The writing style and the suspense it created is truly praise-worthy. My favourite one was the last tale 'The End'; it so aptly concluded the book. The eerie-ness conveyed through the dark stories were spine-thrilling. I do appreciate the way the author penned down so many varied thoughts under a single shed. Each of the them was better than the other. The title and the cover beautifully complemented the book.

A few of the micro-tales did manage to confuse me a bit owing to the twisted way it was penned down. Nonetheless I enjoyed them all dearly.

Overall, a very easy and light read. It can be read at one go. I recommend this to readers who enjoy micro tales with suspense twists.
