There’s a house in Cambria with no phone, no internet, no connection to the outside world.
Dante and Mandy are stuck there together.
He needs a live-in assistant.
She needs a place to hide.
If she gives him total obedience, he’ll do everything in his power to clean up the mess she made back home. Anything less than unquestioning compliance, and she goes back to LA humiliated.
Those are the rules.
Take them or leave them.
Mandy figures she can do Dante’s menial tasks for awhile. Do what he says until the heat dies down.
She has no idea how hot it’s going to get until he tells her she has to do them on her knees.

C.D. Reiss

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestselling author. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping a single cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

I’m going to ruin you, and you’re going to let me.”

God but I love me a grumpy and domineering men. Make them ooze sexual dominance and depravity and I'm putty in your hands. The second Dante's energy so much as appeared on the pages of this book, I was already a goner. The man simply has a way with words and I was so here for it.
If you were my whore, you’d be kneeling at my feet, naked with your ass up, offering it up for my pleasure, hoping I’d hurt you. Afraid I wouldn’t. You’d sleep at the foot of my bed to please me. You’d open your legs when I told you and take my cock down your throat to thank me. You’d let them call you a whore if I asked you to, because with every orgasm I let you have, you’d know you were only mine.”

Yeah.
See what I'm saying?

Mandy is dealing with the fallout of a very public and very ugly breakup. Caught in the middle of hollywood's best kept secret she's painted as the other woman and a home wrecker. Her heart broken, she's desperate for a small piece of serenity. When Logan allows her to use his secluded house, the last person she expects to see there is Logan's older brother, Dante.

Dante doesn't hide his contempt for Mandy. He sees her as the public does, a vapid little rich girl. And even though they've known each other for years, he's never made much of an effort to see the real woman beneath his assumptions. But forced in close proximity, the sexual tension between them is hard to ignore.

If there's one thing I love, is watching men like Dante fall and fall hard. Mandy came off as a bit of a love crazy female in the previous books, but I really connected with her in this one. You can see her spine of steel really come out here and I loved the way she gave back as hard as she got. And Dante didn't really spare his venom at times. Admittedly, he was almost hard to like in the beginning. And when his anger would unleash with Mandy, even more so. But the more the layers get peeled back on his past, the more I found myself connecting more and more.
You’re fearless,” he continued. “And I’ve lived in fear. You’re everything I’ve been too afraid to become, and without you, I’ll never be more than I am.”

This was deliciously dirty with just the right amount of steam to make it addictive. I do wish we got a little more fleshing out on the things from Dante's past, but it was still satisfying. I love a man that can grovel, and Dante definitely worked for it here. This was probably my favorite Crown brother so far.

This book was a perfect combination of being passionately guarded with being passionately extroverted. Dante Crowne is the arrogant, sexy, dominant a**hole who keeps himself guarded. Mandy Bettencourt is the vivacious, beautiful, openingly loving woman who doesn’t have a good track record picking men. These two have a past “interesting” connection and when they end up together in a secluded tiny beach house, that “interesting connection” finally gets uncovered.

I enjoyed the quick and sassy banter between Dante and Mandy. Each are retreating when they end up together. They sort of start out as enemies but slowly turn that around. The close quarters of the Cambria house leads to an unearthing of sexual tension and also an understanding leading to trust. It is obvious that these two belong together but sometimes, the path to being together needs to be a bumpy ride that eventually leads to beautiful and clear skies.

This is one where the ending is what stole the show for me. I didn't really like Dante or Mandy at first. They start off as not very likable characters, but then the author starts to peel back layers to their true character. Some of it was there but some of it was them growing and changing. By the time it got towards the end, I actually really liked both of them and wanted to see that happily ever after. The best part was the epilogue. I just love seeing a few years in to the future and how happy and content a couple is. Especially when they were both far from content in the beginning. The Crowne's are a very interesting family to follow. I'm hoping the sister will eventually get a book.

I have Ten Million words that I want to shower on this magnificent story like rose petals, all choked full in my heart. A perfect story with holy hot, steamy passion to fog up your senses and enough emotional ammunition to destroy your heart.
“You’re beautiful and sexy, but you’re the only thing standing in your way. You’ve stuffed your needs into a bag and thrown them into the river because they scare you. But I see them, because I am the river.”

description

Every book of Reiss is a promise of literary equivalent of tasting Beluga Caviar with a gold spoon. I try to eat spoonful at a time, tasting them on my soul, savoring it a tad bit longer than usual, swirling them in my brain, they're just bursting with nuanced emotions. She isn't called Shakespeare of smut Romance for nothing!!
I'm a frequent re-reader of her lines. More often than not I repeat the words in my head, staring at the wall, stunned with disbelief that reiss has used only 26 alphabets, yet the Molecular Rearrangement that creates magic is something science and logic can't describe. You have to feel it to believe it.
"Our encounter was supposed to stay in Cambria, but she’d followed me to Los Angeles, where I never thought about her unless I was breathing."

description

This book has Reiss continuing the Crowne Saga. The third Crowne sibling, Dante, is stuck in the rescuer mode since his teen years. The love spark he felt in Hoodat Closet with Amanda Battencourt gives his confused psyche a route on which to start his journey as a lover. He takes control, spins dreams, plans an escape and then his world falls apart!!
There's bias, there's skepticism, there's obnoxiousness on his part.
There's confusion, there's humiliation, there's erosion of confidence on her part.
"Even sure that I deserved to be loved without boundaries or limits, I didn’t know what to do with being accepted."

description

They both get stuck in a cottage in rain and the walls come tumbling down, ceiling falls on them, literally and figuratively.
The quest for acceptance and forgiveness drives this odd, mismatched couple in each others arms. He finds control in his dominance and she finds relief in her submission
“Your emotional thermostat’s broken,” he said.
“I turned mine off.

But CD turns the tables in the penultimate chapter. The Revelation which had me sobbing hard, I'm still teary eyed writing this review.
Mandy starts out as a scared dove and rises like a Phoenix. Her Discount personality is metamorphosising in Couture personality, but she finds inner peace in neither. I was FLOORED by the subtle yet remarkable change CD so carefully brings about in her.

description

"My hand fell away from the glass, and the version of myself I’d nailed together out of dominance and self-reliance fell apart as if it had spent years rotting away from the inside. That shell had kept me apart from other people, and only when it broke did I realize what it meant to be alone."
Dante is filled to the brim with detached ambitions, frustrating stubbornness. His cold & hard demeanor hiding a vulnerable boy who lost his reins somewhere in his teens.
“You’re gravity,” he said.
“No matter how high I jump, I come back.”

I'm rambling...I wanna spell out every sentiment hiding in billion folds of this complex story..seriously it's hard to stop myself. But I'll say this- Pick. This. Book. Up. Period!
It'll make more sense if you read this standalone series in sequence cause characters are introduced on their turn

Mandy Bettencourt is a fashion designer in L.A. whose life has suddenly been thrown into chaos. She needs some solitude and a place to think. No phone, no internet, and no connection to the outside world. When she's offered a place to stay for a week alone, she jumps at it. Then there's a roadblock that throws a wrench into her plans, and his name is Dante Crowne.

Dante Crowne was known as the intimidating, confident, cold, guarded, mysterious, brooding Crowne brother. They were all wealthy and seriously handsome, and she'd lived in the same city and traveled in the same circles for years. She found him intriguing, but wanted to have a place off the grid to figure out her problems. It was time to take control of her life and pave her own path, and she was the only one standing in her way.

7D97F5C5_BFBB_4EA2_A476_2E17A8EE0007

Dante is looking forward to some down time at the Cambria estate when he learns Mandy has invaded his personal hideaway. Wires got crossed and now he's stuck with what he remembers to be a self absorbed socialite. She's having a hard time, but he has issues of his own, and babysitting isn't on his to do list. Soon he realizes she can be helpful to him as an assistant, but he just has to use that self control he prides himself on, and ignore the chemistry between them.

Mandy starts to find it hard resist Dante. He makes her feel wild and desperate when he's near. When they touched it was overwhelming and he left her breathless, but would she spend time with a man that was emotionally unavailable? If she let him fulfill all her deepest fantasies would she leave paradise with a broken heart?

Crown Rules is the third story in a series of standalones and it is the turn of Donte Crown to take centre stage. Dominant, masterful, and sexy. Donte has a particular reputation and is every bit the swoon worthy hero, matched perfectly with Mandy.

Mandy and Dante find themselves in close proximity which, fortunately for the reader, sets off passionate fireworks between them. There are rules, expectations, an agreement and lots of passionate, VERY HOT, encounters throughout which will be very pleasing to fans of sexy romance stories.

4 Who Has The Control Now Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
Last year I was introduced to the Crowne Men. Each had his own way of understanding their place in the Crowne World and who they were when they looked in the mirror, did not always reflect back at them. Oh, they all had their masks up, being the men they thought they needed to be to protect themselves. But by having those masks on, they not only cut off others...but also deep down were lost to the needs hiding in their souls.

Mandy is a woman who needs to figure out who she truly is.
She has been finding herself through men who were bad for her and this last humiliating relationship experience is the final straw. She was emotionally used by a man in a shame marriage. Led to believe "they were finally going to be together" and then he runs back to the shame and Mandy's face is all over the rags as a homewrecker.

Well, enough. Social Media and crazies are dragging her through the coals and she needs to find a place to clear her mind. Her bestie suggests a house owned by the Crowne family and it is sort of off the grid, so it would be perfect. Mandy knows she is mainly lucky in life, has a career of her making, status on the social food chain, no worries financially, so she will suck it up, take some time, and come out the other end...

Discard how she felt as Discount Mandy and Emerge as Couture Mandy.

Dante Crowne was not known as the user-friendly Crowne. Although he was commandingly handsome, a face chiseled and could be a work of art, he was considered cold, distant, and imposing. Dante never seemed to go through an awkward stage...even as a teen. More comfortable with those older, it would impact him, mold him, and release his needs with a partner who understood him better than he did.

But now is now and Dante is on a mission to accomplish a task that should have been done long ago. He is going to the house he has mainly been in charge of. It has no internet, no cell service, solar electric, limited hot water but worth it with the beauty of being away from Los Angeles. The house wasn't a one-room cabin by any means but it did have a rustic charm.

Dante pulls up and sees another car in front of the house. His brother happened to call about something else and informed him Mandy was up there hiding from the world. This would not do.

Dante was of the impression of Mandy being another self-absorbed society, social media woman who dabbled in making clothes and was not worth his time. Oh, he did remember back when they were teens and there was one time when she was very much a surprise...but that was long ago.

These two square off. Each knows what they want, to be alone in this house. Yet, there is an undercurrent Dante brings with him every time Mandy is around him. It cannot be hidden, Mandy hates it, and also wants to explore it.

This is a C.D. Reiss story which means minds needed to be open and willing to accept what is presented as it is presented. If you do, then you allow yourself to maybe explore something that will open your mind to another perspective. By doing so, the human need for understanding, how we communicate, how we connect can be explored and appreciated through the author's vision.

Reiss' way of drawing pictures of the mind and heart. It is her strong suit. Her characters go through much to come out the other end of their ordeals. It may not be pretty or easy but it is always human.

C.D. Reiss hit it out of the park with both Dante and Mandy!

You know what I love most about this author? I mean there’s a lot, but the mostest is that when she decides to write something, she is all in. There are no half-measures, every single plot point means something and either moves the story forward or the characters. When she decides to right passion, it is intense, forceful (not nonconsensual forceful) and deeply sexual. She is glorious in every way.

Confession: Jonathan Drazen and I are not acquainted *runs* I know there are super fans out there who might read this and go “whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat” but try not to throw things at me ;) I’m actually only mentioning it because I’ve heard so many people compare/contrast Jonathan with Dante that I made sure all Jonathan’s books are now top on my kindle because Dante was delicious and I need more delicious in my life :)

I read this book in one sitting which is not that big of a feat most cases, but this book was different because it wasn’t just the story that I couldn’t get enough of and wanted to see the detailed outcome of, it was also a vibe/spell the storyline had and I was just stuck to it LOL I tried one time to put my kindle away and it lasted like 3 minutes. I didn’t want to disconnect from the story’s mood, ever. Sometimes, Dante was a little too much for my tastes, but never so much that I wasn’t always rooting for him. He’s the man you hate to love but just can’t help yourself. He developed so much in this story that I found myself in awestruck at times. Mandy was a surprising force with Dante and that made the story even more engaging for me. She was courageous and gave right back. These two together were magical even when they didn’t know it.

I really enjoy reading Christine’s work, even when it pushes my own boundaries. She’s talented and as I mentioned before, always delivers full force!

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

line

'Crowne Rules' is a standalone Romance by the best-selling author C.D. Reiss. This book is told in dual perspectives.

I love this author. Absolutely love her . But this book sort of disappointed me. It wasn't wholly bad but there were a few parts of it that completely ruined my mood and I just couldn't enjoy it further. I will tell you both the positive and negative parts!!

This is Dante and Amanda's story. Both of them knew her years ago and now are meeting after so many years. They never had an affair or anything , just a stolen moment in the cupboard. But have been able to deny the chemistry between each other. Soon they find themselves stuck in a house without connection or electricity.

Dante propositions Amanda that he will let her stay with him , but there are rules. She will do whatever he asks and if she does not do it , swift punishment will follow. She agrees. What follows is an tornado of explosive hot scenes that I loved very much! This author has a wicked mind and I loved every bit of it!

Then the days pass quickly and the time for Amanda to leave comes. It is upto Dante to stop her or to let her go. The book was fine for me , it was the hero with which I had some problems. The way he criticised Amanda because she was not good at English , or made grammatical mistakes , just didn't sit right with me. Amanda had gone through a break-up recently where her ex dumped her. I hated the way Dante called her a doormat and didn't even make any effort to know the whole story. He just kept on criticising her and never apologized. That was something I just couldn't overlook and it spoiled my whole mood about the book.

Other than that this book was memorable and I loved the chemistry between the characters. If you can overlook the negatives (for me) that I mentioned above , then please go ahead and one click this book!

Dirty talk'tan soğudum. Hatta öyle ki bana 'acaba hep mi soğuktum lan' diye düşündürttü.

"You're beautiful and sexy, but you're the only thing standing in your way. You've stuffed your needs into a bag and thrown them into a river because they scare you. But I see them because I am the river."

Dirty talk demişken, mesele adamak kıza "you are my whore" demesi veya dedirtmesi değil, aksine bunlar daha iyi.

Holy kittens that was bloody fantastic. I liked Byron Crowne, I loved Logan Crowne but I absolutely want to worship at the feet of Dante Crowne. Oh my goodness, oh my goodness.

CD Reiss’ writing, as always is perfection stuffed in a book. The way she commands the letters of the alphabet into words and words into phrases is exemplary. Mesmerising. I could just write a review chock full of her quotes and it would be enough.

I even love how she spells out sounds. Plink and plop and hm.

I’m not going to regurgitate the blurb other than Mandy Bettencourt and Dante Crowne were not meant to be together in a run down house, but they are and the electricity current between them is enough to light every bulb in Vegas for fifty years. They sizzle.

The quotes:
“You’ve stuffed your needs into a bag and thrown them into the river because they scare you. But I see them, because I am the river.”

“His mouth was a vandal, kicking the door open and wrecking the place, corner to corner.”

“We were a puzzle piece missing, and she didn’t even want to check under the table or between the cushions. She was going to leave this unfinished, with me here on the floor next to the chair leg, because I was the missing piece, panicking at the thought of being left behind.”

“She was so rare and beautiful in a world of charmingly armored emotions that I wanted to stand between her tender heart and the world’s betrayal. Her protector. Her safety.”

“We kisses for a month, through spring into summer’s heat, and the winter’s damp chill, unwilling to let go of each other and deal with the inevitable, until he pulled away a few inches to yank us back into the moment again.”

“Without her, my skin didn’t fit around my soul.”

Kittens! And now I need to beg CD Reiss very nicely, because I really, really, really want a Lyric book. That girl is FUN! Please, please, please, please Christine. Please can I have a Lyric book?

We were a puzzle with a piece missing.

So...a very very long ass time ago
*walks with a cane*

I read this book's blurb and was super intrigued but the sad thing is that it got lost. and I have a very photogenic memory (the only flex I have jkk) In other words the book's blurb stuck with me forevah.

The blurb's tid bits were there somewhere in my broken brain.

And when I started reading it, I was like:

Wait a damn minute why does it sound so familiar?"
And bingo turns out it was the very same book.
Yay for me...or is it nay??

"Be careful, Princess. You’re wrapped in a pretty package, but you’re rotting from the inside out."

If your man doesn't say this to you, is he really your man then?
No? Drop him sis.

The h getting humbled by the H also famously known as the degradation kink.

I’d walked away from her.
She wasn’t mine.

It has well developed themes and the characters were likeable as well. So what's the matter now dawg? It was definitely the plot. It fell flat for me.

Also another one, problem-not with the book probably just with me was that I felt like as though something was missing, don't really know how to explain it but it was just there.
Maybe it's more of a me problem and not a book problem, maybe it is that Mandy gave in too easily to Dante in the beginning instead of making him grovel (preferably on his knees) or that it was insta lovish-slow burnish-

Since when is that a trope? * insert clown emoji*

Show it to me, amea.
Let me see what a whore you are for me

The nickname he has for her isn't an overused cliché one instead it is completely unique so ultimately, brownie points granted.

Degradation kink plays a huge part in this (did I mention that?) so if you're not comfortable with that might wanna...be careful.

Overflowing with sensuality, Reiss has penned a lush read that I found hard to put down. All the Crowne brothers are charmers, a trait they’d inherited from their father. And if you haven’t read Byron or Logan’s stories, you’ll be dying to get to know them after reading Crown Rules. Reminiscent of Reiss’ earlier writing, it’s a brazenly hot addition to this stand-alone series.

‘My problems weren’t romantic. They were strictly professional and needed attending.’

Dante swept me off my feet and in the realm of my book boyfriends, he’s wearing the crown! It was a joy to see him thrown off-kilter by Amanda Bettencourt, the woman he’d had a brief albeit unforgettable encounter with way back. As circumstances would have it, they find themselves under the same roof again and just wow! Not only did Reiss’ build up the steaminess to a magnific level, but her protagonists’ different emotional stances couldn’t have fitted them better.

“You’re my gravity,” he said. “No matter how high I jump, I come back.”

Oops, Mandy’s one of the brother’s best friends and Dante’s been told that in no uncertain terms is she there for his diversion. However, once the gauntlet is picked up, their intense mutual lust might just get the better of them. I loved how they both examined their weaknesses, but observing their push-pull dance certainly made me wonder how it would all pan out.

‘We danced around each other like boxers.’

Shaded by the tabloids and taking quite a bit of stick from Dante doesn’t dampen Mandy’s spirits. Like her favoured colour, she is radiant and bright. And although I thought it wouldn’t be possible for me to love her more than I already did, the new her blew me away.

“I’m going to ruin you and you’re going to let me.”

Dante certainly made me go weak at the knees. So full of himself, beyond demanding, reserved and downright dirty, he has to cope with his feelings when his impenetrable armour is weakened. What he’s going to do about it is a discovery in itself.

“You’re everything I’ve been too afraid to become, and without you, I’ll never be more than I am.”

The sizzling dialogue and vivid scenes are something else and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the grammar spin on the story. Reiss’ prose is as always, beautiful, and the ending one I will never forget. I couldn’t get enough of these two gorgeous people’s story, and it’s a definite re-read for me. Bravo!

Crowne Rules was another delicious story by CD Reiss in her Crowne (standalone) series. This story between Mandy and Dante flowed like poetry because as usual the writing felt like we were reading something other worldly at times. It was just amazing and had me tingly at certain parts as Reiss' words painted such vivid images. I enjoyed Dante and Mandy's connection and the heat between them.

Boy oh Boy.. Dante Crowne's story definitely followed in Byron and Logan's respective footsteps as the chemistry and connection between him and Mandy was palpable. I enjoyed the fiery attraction between them and how deep their feelings ran for one another.

Overall, this was a great addition to the Crowne siblings and highlighted this author's storytelling ability! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Welcome to the addictive brand of kinky and swoonworthy by CD Reiss. Crowne Rules was a powerful story of passion and love with the brilliant writing of CD Reiss. It was filthy and kinky. It was heartaching and beautiful. Another mindblowing performance by the queen of alpha heroes.

Dante Crowne needs rules and control. Inside bedroom. Sometimes outside too. And Mandy Bettencourt has thrown him out of the loop by appearing uninvited in the secluded cabin he owns. And she needs to have some control of her own as her personal life is out of control right now. The dynamics is about to get very twisted and very interesting. May be Dante needs someone who will defy him and challenge him. May be Mandy needs someone to keep her grounded.

This story is kinky and dirty. Straight up. If you have been a CD Reiss reader for some time, you will know that she delivers the power play of dominance and submission so perfectly. This is always a delicate balance for me. The author needs to keep it balanced and believable. And CD Reiss can do it so beautifully. Dante is a complicated man. And his needs for dominance goes deeper than sexual needs. God he is so infuriating and arrogant and bossy. And I won't mind submitting to his orders at all because he oozes that power in him. And the truly gorgeous part is watching this regal man getting unsure, vulnerable and getting unravelled by Mandy. She is just like her favourite colour. Shiny, cheerful, impulsive, overly emotional and reckless. I love her warmth and fire. And like any sunny day, she has shadows. She is so done with being thirsty for approval and running away from her problems. Controlling Dante should be bane of her existence. But on contrary, he helped her found herself. The tension was high. The emotions were wild. And the sex was unapologetically depraved. I was so far gone for their power plays and sexual games. And then CD Reiss piled up my plate with romance goodness. What a tasty ride!

Crowne Rules by CD Reiss was the dangerous balance between dark and swoony. And it was achingly beautiful. I am craving more alpha hero greatness from her!

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily.

This is the third story about one of the Crowne brothers and I think Dante would have to be the most interesting one of all so far.

Dante Crowne was introduced to the world of sub/dom when he was an inexperienced young man. From that day on he was very aware of his sexual preferences and the sort of partner he preferred. However, his first real relationship was a bit controversial and ended tragically. This has definitely left a lasting impact the way he lives his life now.

Amanda is in the middle of a media shitstorm, her entire personal life has been splayed open for everyone to read about and make their own commentary on. She needs to get away from the madness and reset herself until things calm down. When Logan Crowne suggests she hides away in their family holiday home in Cambria it’s like a lifeline has been extended to her and she jumps at the chance.

‘No turning away from the knowledge that everyone knew. I wasn’t good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, anything enough. ‘

Dante is heading to the Cambria house to make some ongoing repairs, this DIY project keeps him busy and he enjoys the isolation it provides him. Sharing a house with Amanda is not how anticipated spending the weekend but when the weather packs in, stay she must. If he was honest with himself, he’s always had his eye on Amanda, ever since he kissed her when she was a teenager playing a game of hoodat in the dark..

Amanda is exhausted and relieved to finally be alone but that is short lived when Dante arrives. He is not happy about sharing a house with her. His intolerance and arrogance really rubs her the wrong way - and arouses her too. Honestly though, he is absolutely gorgeous and he stirs something in her. He is so manly, you know, the kind that fixes things and just takes charge - most likely in and out of the bedroom…

‘So I knelt. My knees protested the frozen pavement, but I also felt a flash of heat go through me. It felt good to finally surrender. To just fucking submit.’

It doesn’t take long for Amanda and Dante to give into what they both want. Submitting to Dante just felt so natural to her, it’s like she found strength in submitting control to him. I absolutely loved his dirty talking and it really felt like this relationship had been building up for years. Dante’s brother forbid him from touching Amanda but the pull between them was too intense to ignore, his family will just have to get over it.

'You’re beautiful and sexy, but you’re the only thing standing in your way. You’ve stuffed your needs into a bag and thrown them into the river because they scare you. But I see them, because I am the river.'

I absolutely loved this story, Dante was multi layered and super hot! This couple were perfect for each other and despite everything that Amanda went through she became a more confident and stronger person. Except when she relinquished control to Dante...

A reticent, aloof Dom whose games kept him emotionally remote.
A breezy socialite with more bad headlines than Fiona Drazen.
A remote cabin with the promise of solitude
Forced proximity.
A story so hot it should come with its own fire extinguisher.
I'M BEGGING FOR IT.

Dante Crowne is the black sheep brother whose ONE BIG THING is a chain of exclusive, chic clubs, the wreckage of of a tragic illicit affair. Mandy's a socialite designer, who's been branded a homewrecker in a celebrity breakup that isn't quite what it seems.
Mandy's best friend, Logan Crowne, offers the use of the Crowne family cabin - it's the perfect place to hide out from the press and find herself again in solitude and peace. The only problem is that it's Dante's favorite hideaway and he isn't in the mood for company.
There's been an attraction smoldering since a kinky interlude during high school game of Hoodat, and it explodes when Dante's plan to drive her away from the remote cabin they had both retreated to backfires and Mandy agrees to submit to him. But what starts out a lascivious, kinky game turns emotional and tender. I haven't had this giddy, electric feeling from a story in ages. That shiver up your spine when you hear the characters' voices in your head. That tight feeling in your chest when you get so invested in the characters' heartbreaks and breakthroughs. I'm speechless and full of love for this story.

It is classic CD Reiss. Elegant, emotionally taut and filthy. I'm weeping at the fucking beauty of it.

Dante Crowne was a mystery to me, never wanting to give himself away. He was more of a loner, always being the one in control. So it was a surprise to see that Mandy was at his place of comfort. Mandy was running away from the scandal and paparazzi that followed her and she sure didn’t want to be near anyone-especially with Dante Crowne.

The chemistry between Dante and Mandy sizzles right from the beginning. They way they tease and challenge each other had me lowering the thermostat. Dante saw Mandy a way she never saw herself and it opened her eyes to the truth. I wasn’t sure if this Crowne would get his HEA due to his moody and unrequested honesty. Be sure to click to see what surprises Dante will grace you with. Kara~4 Stars

“Doing it fast is the enemy of doing it right.”
DANTE CROWNE is just everything you look for in an alpha male!!

If you’re in the mood for a sexy alpha male that will make you crave for more , Dante Crowne is the man for you.

I could not get enough of the relationship between Dante and Mandy, the ups and downs and many twists and turns of their emotions, it truly captivated me.

I loved couture Mandy and Discount Mandy and Amea.

Mandy is trying to escape the paparazzi after a messy break up. When she arrived at the cabin in Cambria with her bag full of her yellow clothes, Amanda thought she would be alone ... until Dante Crowne appears with the intention to stay.

Dante and his love for language accuracy from punctuation to spelling made me swoon... I found this so sexy!! Yup, I’m a grammar geek.
Dante has demons to fight and Amanda wants to rebuild her life.
Logan’s worse nightmare is a relationship between his best friend and his brother...

No one could deny their attraction but can they make it last?
A fantastic read that shows how Love can change a person.

The story gets under your skin and you just can’t seem to shake the characters.

HOT HOT READ alert!

This was such an electrifying book with sizzling moments and tension. I devoured it and I was left wanting more. It has everything I have come to expect from this author.

Amanda “Mandy” Bettencourt needs a place to hide. Running from scandal and the paparazzi, she gets an offer from her best friend she can’t refuse. It’s perfect...until Dante Crowne shows up. She wants to stay and he needs a favor. Can they work out a deal? Alone in a secluded house...what will happen when this alpha meets the this socialite? They briefly knew each other as teenagers but they are all grown up now. What a great and temptIng delight. They both are hiding from their actions of the past but can they find the right path forward together? This is the third book in this series of stand alones and moves at a pretty fast pace. Dante is definitely an Alpha craving control! BDSM, Told in dual POV

Ooh Dante....you bossy man you. In a good way! And poor Mandy is just looking to get away, escape the press and the crazies hounding her. But they escaped to the same place. Hmm.

Something I liked about the development of their relationship is they both grew from it. They both kind of found themselves and a new kind of strength in this story. Dante and Mandy have a past that no one knows about. Only 7 minutes of it, but those 7 minutes had a lasting impact. Another interesting thing about them? It seems no one thinks they are a good idea. People have all kinds of opinions! But in the end, these two have to keep choosing themselves and F everybody else's thoughts on it.

Oh and this book is unapologetically HOT. Mandy is finding strength in herself while giving up control. At least behind closed doors. And Dante is so skilled at the dirty talk, setting a mood, painting a vivid picture.

I love how vulnerable and open this couple became for each other. Their walls came down, and I loved the epilogue, and seeing their happy ever after and what it looked like. That was my favorite part, but I won't say why.

Dante Crowne. Reminiscent of the first Drazen. Bold. Dirty. Dominant. Feeling.

He is definitely his own character though. His love with Mandy Bettencourt was decades in the making. From a few minutes in a dark closet as teens to a small house off the grid as adults, these two always find themselves in confined, close proximity. A closeness that lends itself to heightened arousal and an impatient lust.

Surprising each other at the Crownes' Cambria house created this necessity for not just physical closeness but also emotional. Their story was delicious and intriguing and nothing short of perfect.

And Mandy was fierce and strong and wouldn't take Dante's shit, except when necessary 😉.

Highly recommended and my favorite of the Crowne books!

Oh my wow! C.D. Reiss once again delivers another binge worthy novel from her Crowne series. Crown Rules is the third novel in the series of interconnected standalones.

I loved Dante and Amanda together. Their chemistry and connection was palpable and dripped from the pages. Dante didn't disappoint and lived up to the standard his brothers' set as book boyfriends I fell head over heels for. He's a multilayered character and his story was one of my favorites from the series.

If you're in the mood for some angst, passion, great chemistry, secrets, and a great story then make Crowne Rules your next read. 4 stars.
