An ancient goddess. A human woman. Reborn guardians. A prophecy awaits.

An ancient goddess. When her Guardians are murdered, her life and kingdom are at risk. She’s forced to hide her soul and power in a small gold statue to await the day she’ll be released. Over three thousand years later, she’s free, in the body of a human woman, and seeking new Guardians.

A human woman. Emergency room doctor Ryder Hoffman devotes her life to her work and to find a cure for her father’s cancer. A single night in a run-down motel with a small gold statue and an injured man changes her life forever. Days later, recurring sizzling dreams become nightmares then turn into reality. When the Stone brothers show up at her door, no one can explain her new wolf tattoo, her blackouts, or her ability to heal. Will her soul be consumed by a beautiful goddess? Or can she hold onto her humanity?

Reborn guardians. The Stone brothers protect their dying wolf clan, no matter what. The youngest, Ian, is the last shifter born and the most daring. He defied his Alpha and stole the gold statue. Colin keeps the peace between his brothers. Second-in-command, he allows Ian the leniency he was never given. Jamie, their Alpha, demands total control with no exceptions—not even his brothers. He will protect his family and his clan from the human woman whom they can’t resist and he refuses to trust.

A prophecy awaits. A gold statue, three protective wolf shifters, and a fated human are brought together as the present imitates the past.

Awakened is the first in Sharla Wylde's Tree of Life series. If you enjoy fantasy and reverse harems, then you'll love this sizzling and captivating story!

Ryder “Ry” Hoffman, Ian Stone, Colin Stone, and Jamie Stone.

An ER Doctor visiting Chicago for a medical conference finds herself kidnapped by a man with a gun. He swears he just needs her to drive him somewhere and he will release her unharmed. When they stop at a clean but shabby motel, she notices he is bleeding. Against her better judgement, she sews up his though & through gunshot wound. When she returns from washing up in the bathroom, he’s out for the count.

Her intention is to escape, but when she digs around in his bag for her keys she finds a golden “tree of life” sculpture. She holds the statue up to the light, mesmerized by it’s beauty, and it crumbles in her hands, raining gold dust over her. Magic comes over her and she is irresistibly pulled toward the sleeping man. She initiates sex, oh so much sex, and he eagerly follows her lead.

She disappears before he wakes, returning home to Texas. As soon as she relaxes enough to close her eyes, the dreams begin. Sex with her kidnapper alone and with two other men who must be his brothers. In some dreams, she is in her own skin. In other dreams, she is another woman, surrounded by the same three men. In one dream a wolf approaches her in a field only to shift into a man, one of her men.

By the time she’s had a half a dozen dreams, she is as desperate to find her kidnapper as he is to find her. Strangely enough, they ask the same man for help reconnecting them.

HFN ending. Book 2 not yet published.

04/07/2023 — also enjoyed the prequel, Dragon Wings, one of those perfectly appropriate books that Goodreads refuses to acknowledge just because it’s a freebie from the author.

Sebastian Wilder & Lila.

A male dragon & female cop take separate paths for revenge against the drug runner who killed his twin brother and her best friend.

P.S. Love the cover art, both books.

Ryler is fully focused on her studies to become a doctor. When she is kidnapped, she is convinced that she will be killed. Ian only wants to use her as a driver to escape the city. After he stole a statue from a museum, he was ambushed and shot by men. He must now go to a safe place and then go home. When Ryder sees his gunshot wound she can't help but help him; after all, she's an ER doctor.
When he falls asleep, she searches for the keys to the car to escape. Then she finds the statue. When she admires it in the light, it falls apart

And then her erotic dreams begin with her men. In these dreams she makes love to 3 men, 3 brothers. The dreams are so lifelike that she is not sure what dreams are and what is really happening.

The story only really gets going after she is kidnapped again, is seriously assaulted but finds out that she has no fractures or bruises from this. When she then meets 3 brothers, she cannot control her sexual lust.

If you have a penchant for paranormal romances, this is what you will love. A well-designed story where the main character is taken over by the entity of a queen who lived 3000 years earlier and had a lot of power. If your preference lies in the field of RH romances, you will certainly enjoy yourself here. Many erotic scenes throughout the story that do not distract the story but are clearly part of the story.
I, who loves romances of all kinds, really enjoyed reading this book. The story is open-ended. I am curious about the sequel!

The concept of this book was refreshing. I have read one too many shifter books that start out with the same old "I was a pack reject and abused because I couldn't shift" storyline. This was not one of those, thank goodness.

Now, had I read this book at a different time, I may have rated it higher, but as it put me in a reading slump, this took forever to finish. My interest was just not held as much as it could have been. The plot moved pretty slowly and was sparsely sprinkled among MANY intimate scenes. Like... MANY. And Ry is either the luckiest or unluckiest girl in the world to be able to have multiple O's with just a touch.

Ryder becomes a victim of "wrong place wrong time" when she has a run-in with Ian, who had just stolen an artifact from a museum. This happens right at the beginning, and it starts Ry on a whirlwind of an adventure. She is kidnapped, and while trying to escape, she finds said artifact. She touches it, and it shatters, leaving her enveloped with ancient power. This book relies a lot on dreams and sexy scenes to drive the story, and as much as I love a good spicy book, it was just not exciting anymore as the book went on. After Rys 500th orgasm they all blend together, ya know?

I didn't dislike this book. I thought the re-emergence of the ancient power was an interesting storyline. The shifters were written well, and I honestly would like to know what happens after they get to their destination.. but I'm not sure if I want to know badly enough to read through the next book.

Believe it or not, there is a story in this book. Although there are a LOT of sex scenes. There were more than I wanted to read so I only read the first 56% of the book. I don't mind a few, but this one has too many for me, so I stopped reading. What I read other than the sex scenes was a pretty good story line. If you like a lot of what they now call steamy sex scenes, then you will like this book. It does have a story line that goes hand in hand with the steamy sex.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Ryder is an ER doctor who unknowing has the soul of a godess. It all starts with a small gold statue. The Stone brothers are guardians and wolves. There is a prophesy to be fulfilled with many twisted. Are Ryder and the men doomed to have the past repeat itself? I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.

Ian steals a statue and then he gets shot. To get away he kidnaps Ryder. Ryder is a doctor and she end up touching the statue and it dissolves and something enters her body. She gets caught up in Ian and his brothers world of shifters. They are led on a dangerous chase as bad guys try to get Ryder while she collects her guardians. Good read

So so

I had trouble connecting with both the story Lind and the characters. I'm not sure why. I even stopped and let it sit for a few days and then restarted it and still had trouble connecting.

Yeah I like this book. At times I thought it was a little far fetched but then it is a book about shifters so I guess what did I expect. I enjoyed it though and couldn't stop reading at times.

Was a fast read. Not a top favorite, but still good. I’ll definitely check out the next book, since I’m curious about how the rest of the story will play out.
