Alabaster has done an amazing job in depicting the books of the Bible in a beautiful way. The photos correspond with the story of each chapter and gives you a visual glimpse. It's not too overpowering, as if you were reading a picture book, yet compliments the essence of the reading. I like how the paragraphs are titled and informs you on what you're about to read. The overall look is modern, clean, and creative.

I enjoyed this rendition of Matthew very much as the font is captivating and easy to read, while the imagery is artistic. I usually find it hard to read through some areas of the Bible like the genealogies, but Alabaster formatted it in a way where I could just breeze through different sections and it's not too overwhelming. Reading the Bible has always uplifted my life and strengthened my faith, but Alabaster has done an excellent job in capturing my attention as I dive into the Word.

How do you want to begin the new year? Alabaster is here with some literal Good News. They are releasing a new edition of their Gospel on Matthew - and it is giving me hope in God.

Calm and Cool

Alabaster has enhanced their iconic aesthetic. This second edition features a new distinct cover, color story, and includes a wider range of global artists. The blue and white ocean waves set the tone for the rest of the book, and the photos throughout make for a calm and cool reading experience.

Described as a perfect paperback, this book is softcover, 120 pages, perfect bound, and printed in full color on uncoated paper in Canada. The dimensions are 7.5 in x 9.5 in. It uses the NLT translation, which is excellent for this type of reading experience.

To the End of the Age

As I looked through the pages, I couldn’t help but feel excited for what God is doing. 2020 has been a difficult year, but God grants peace and calms our anxious hearts.

Reading this new edition of Matthew is the perfect way to start the new year. Be grounded in God’s Word from the beginning. No matter what the new year will bring, Christ is with us always, to the end of the age.

Alabaster never fails to amaze me with its beautiful portrayal of the Word. The images in the Gospel of Matthew compliment the Scripture so well and visualize the stories so creatively. I love how the thematic blue hues are carried throughout the book. As for the other Gospel books, I love how they each have their own thematic color! I love the Gospels because we get to look into the window of Jesus’ heart through these words. Reading through this particular publication of Matthew is just a beautiful reading experience in general because of the images, formatting, and creativity. Get these books!! I’m a senior in college and having Alabaster books out on my coffee table in my apartment is always so fun because they catch the eyes of even college students. They’re beautiful and irresistible!

I received a complimentary copy of the book through Alabaster’s Influencer Program but all thoughts and opinions are my own!

The book of Matthew is a great addition to my ever-growing collection by Alabaster Co. I just love how this exceeds any of the other gospels and indicates that Matthew had the Jewish population in mind when he sat down to write. The connections between Jesus and the Old Testament provide ample prophetic evidence for Jesus’s ministry but also give contemporary readers a glimpse into how first-century readers approached the Old Testament with a Christ-centered mind-set. Overall this redesigned book is not just beautiful, but it’s powerful!

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Alabaster’s influencer Program. Personally this book has allowed me to dive in deeper in God’s Word, enhancing my daily readings and devotional time. Thanks again for such a wonderful addition to my library of the beautiful Alabaster Co. Bible Collection!

The Biblical authors used so many examples of nature to describe character, feelings, attributes, etc. Are modern culture just doesn't think that way as much. We use words and descriptions to explain something. But what Alabaster has done has helped us bridge those two styles...getting our minds to think more like the Biblical authors wrote...to read beyond just the text, and to explore visuals, using both art and nature to work in harmony with the text. And it is really beautiful.

I am so excited about Alabaster’s newest release of all 4 gospels!! I do think the book of Matthew could have used a little more cohesiveness from the pictures to the text. I didn’t see much corresponding thoughts between the two - I would rather have seen the pictures correlate to the text more. But overall, what an aesthetically pleasing touch to add to a beautiful book of the Bible. I was generously gifted this book through the Alabaster Influencer Program!

I love the idea for this series. Art is subjective and there were some of the images that I didn't make a connection with but others were very well done.
