Almost every little girl grows up hoping to find their prince, their white knight. Not me. I knew I was nothing special, and I had my feet planted firmly in the real world, or so I thought. That all changed when I went to a friends house to play paintball. An innocent game, right? Yeah, right. That friend happened to be a prince from another dimension, with powers similar to the magical fae that stories are told about. A scout for the Svikari, who are trying to overturn said friends father, saw me through a magical gateway. Now, they are hunting me. Turns out, one of my parents is from that other dimension, and I have powers, too! That quickly, my world was turned upside down, and with the help of my friends, I have to figure out why I didn’t know I had powers and why the Svikari want me.
5 stars! A Glint of Shadoewynne is an enjoyable and intriguing paranormal romance. The author’s creativity is truly a gift and I’m so glad she chose to share that creativity with the rest of the world. While the romance is slowly (and perfectly) built between Evalia and her three protective men, the underlying twists and surprises never stop coming, which makes it such an intriguing read. I’m not one to give away so spoilers, so you’ll just have to read the book. I highly recommend it!
Wow, trying to attempt reading this was painful. I usually like the first person style of writing but this one was just awful.
The writing was too immature and the heroine was unrelatable. I don't think an 18 year old would act like this heroine. The mc was whiny, low self esteem, accusatory, gets angry for no reasons, weak, and unlikable. No characters development and the too much details of every single thought of the mc was annoying. This was a cringe worthy and annoying book. First time reading this author and last time too. Can't recommend this book and DNF.
A Glint of Shadoewynne is a slow burn reverse harem paranormal. It takes the reader on a journey of discovering who Evalia is and what she is capable of doing. All while she decides how she feels about her new male friends.
I have two quotes from the book that I love.
1. "My motto was when life gets tough, the tough suck it up and deal with it themselves. It wasn't catchy, but it was true." 2. "Life never gives you time to take things in slowly. It's always sink or swim."
Both of those quotes could sum up the book. Evalia learns that life isn't always as it appears. Read to find out what happens on her Journey of discovering who and what she is versus what she has always been told.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The author was really creative with world building and the storyline. While it is an RH, it’s a slow burn so not a lot of action in the romance department. However, what it lacks in romance it more than makes up for with character and story building. I can’t wait to read the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Evalina thinks shes a normal college student until she finds out She has Shadoewynne blood. Her powers are locked. Can the be released in time to save herself? Can she accept the 3 men ,who are destined to protect her? This is a slow pace RH but the story will keep you captivated. sigh yes it ends in a cliffhanger. So worth the read.
Seriously great book. Kept me captivated until the end. Can’t wait for the next one. Evalia is relatable as a character. Sarcastic introverted book lover meets cute protective guys. This book was right up my alley.
