This was one of many books that I have wanted to start clearing from my shelves. Actually, it was forgotten about and I just recently came across it again.

It was NOT at all what I expected the book to be, it starts off as any book thanking people, then goes in to lecture mode about how one should "find opportunities to be thankful" how you should thank FOUR people a day. I don't even see that many people in a week, let alone a day, but that's besides the point. I didn't buy the book to be told to thank people more. I bought it to find ways to word thanks in a way that wasn't the same-ole-same style of thanks... Chain letter thank you? Um IDTS!! Seriously this author has the audacity to say getting a chain letter thank you is something everyone would want. NO! I would NOT, and I would never perpetuate it either!

Other than a few words here or there or a random single good idea, the book was mostly not useful as the title suggest: hundreds of clever, meaningful, and purposeful ways to say thank you! NOPE, it was not any of those things. There was a lot of form-letter style of thank you for someone to "copy" if they fit that *exact situation* yeah, sorry, that I paid for this book.

I thank the author for making me realize my mistake several years ago. My notes show that I purchased it January 8, 2004. I don't know what inspired me to buy this specific book as I am always very much a person who sends thank you notes, perhaps it was because I thought as I did when I picked it up to read that it would provide some good tips or guidance to the language of thank yous. Eh, moving on to something worthwhile.

A heartfelt thank you can benefit both the sender and the recipient! I once saw this book on a shelf at my husband’s aunt’s house, who is such a gracious person, that I was curious to get my own copy. I’ve had this book on my own shelf for years now, and it is full of wonderful ways to beautifully express gratitude.

I've had her daughter's thank you book for kids since I was in elementary school, so I figured I should read the adult version to help make my thank yous a bit more grown-up (I understand the importance of a handwritten thank you but I hate writing them). I have to write a bunch to students every holiday to thank them for gifts, but I hate writing more or less the same thing over and over again, so I wanted ideas. This book is mostly samples of specific thank you notes, not really a guide book on how to write a meaningful thank you. Some sections were better than others (cute ideas on making a thank you gift all the way to a terrible idea for a thank you chain letter email that you know will cause your friends to hate you for sending spam).

This book is a great gift; I think you can find it at Hallmark, too. I can't remember if I bought it for someone or if someone gave it to me, but I was feeling down when I came across it on the bookshelf. The inspirational quotes really cheered me up. I would highly recommend this book as a gift for anyone who does something nice for you. It's very uplifting.

I found this book when I was cleaning out a bookshelf. Don't remember when I got it, but decided to sit down and read it tonight. The author gives hundreds of ways to show gratitude to others--not just the normal thank-you note. I plan to use some of her ideas to show others how much I appreciate them.

Love this book! I've had it for several years. I keep it with my stationary and cards. I reread it again last night. It is so worth the money.
