A quick and easy read that was truly eye-opening and inspiring. It's been a while since I've sat in a position to hold the title of "coach" and this inspired me to get back to the sport I love and to once again be in the position to lead and inspire athletes. I'm taking some of the lessons and homework from the book and trying them myself.

Love the idea of not just being better, but being the best in whatever it is we strive to achieve in life.

Powerful ideas delivered with a good story. The book changed my view regarding coaching. A worthwhile read for anyone interested in coaching, teaching or leading. The book worked well as an audio book. The story was perhaps a little optimistic especially towards the end regarding the power of coaching (more challenges in the story would have been welcome) but then again the story managed brought the message home, and in a quite compact but yet captivating way.

What an empowering story about becoming a great leader! Everyone should read this book! It is easy to read and follow and it is very engaging. I am an early childhood educator and a coach. After reading this book, I felt better equipped and prepared to implement and practice the coaching skills and strategies needed to help others be successful! Building confidence and courage in others is powerful!
I will read this book again and again!

Martin Rooney is a myth of coaching athletes to grateness. Rooney has developed a worldwide training system and written many books on training and mental coaching. This book is told as a story of a Coach and an American football athlete and is filled by many of Martins great stories. If you are an employer to someone or want to develop as a couch then this book is for you.

I always find it difficult to take fictional stories that seriously and hold the lessons they try to teach at arms length. Like so many books of this nature, it's idealistic with the advice it gives and it's a bit transparent with it's narrative. But that being said, the advice is motivational and it doesn't overstay it's welcome.

This fictionalised story centred around an American football coach and his journey to becoming a better coach, husband, and father, so it didn’t really resonate with me. I skimmed the detailed sections describing the gameplay elements. That aside, there was some simple and practical advice on cultivating a coaching mindset.

This was a quick little read. All the way through I noticed it really reminded me of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior. Same sort of premise with a mysterious teacher appearing out of nowhere. Still worth reading though.

While the books title may make you think it is only for coaches, I think this would be a great book for anyone in a leadership role to read. A refreshing, simple story line with powerful messages.

Simple read with a great message about impacting others. Coaching the person instead of the athletes, very important especially in this generation.

This is a very short read. This book follows a fictionalized football coach who is struggling to lead his players, his family, and himself. This coach runs into an older man we come to know only as Coach. This book isn’t so much about coaching X’s and O’s but uses the backdrop of football to explore leadership. It was a good story with practical leadership advice, but ultimately this book is so short and idyllic. Everything the ole Coach suggest works every time and in the span of a week we see our main character go from a loser whose job is on the line to a winner whose job is secure. Maybe, I’m too stubborn or slow to learn, but rarely if ever have I had a radical change in my leadership in a week. I’m 5 years into fulltime ministry leadership and I still fall into year 1 bad habits. I liked this book but it just seems a little too easy and idyllic.

Must read for Coaches in any industry

Being a coach myself I love the simplicity and the easy to apply principles in this book.

Too many times as coaches we care too much about what we know and not enough to the people we are trying to help

Coach to Coach hits the right notes to make you really reflect on your journey as coach; Being able helping others to get from their point A to Point B.

Your job as a coach is not throw your ego around, but to inspire, motivate, and guide the individuals you are responsible for, to places they could not go on their own!

Must read for all Coaches in any industry
