This sixth volume in The Plutarch Project tells the stories of three leaders and lawmakers. The book includes vocabulary and discussion questions, plus edited text for students.
These guides are so helpful for diving into Plutarch’s lives. We did the life of Aristides in a co-op setting, and the kids did creative narrations (lego creations, poems, drawings, maps, one kid even made a video). It was memorable! Delightful to see each kid’s different take.
One thing I would love if there are ever future editions of these guides: It would be SO helpful if there was a note after each name detailing the pronunciation.
“If now you suffer, do not blame the Powers, For they are good, and all the fault was ours, All the strongholds you put into his hands, And now his slaves must do what he commands.”
In all my years reading Plutarch to the kids, this year in particular, so much of the material in these three Lives tied to current events. We have had grand conversations for days.
