Not your typical MC romance. It was good just needed more back story on why the broke up originally. Also spoiler alert but she just gave in right away. Come on make him earn it. Also why was Danny obsessed and who was he affiliated with? Lots of unanswered questions

DNF for me. I gave 3 stars because it's the authors first book so there's places to go from here.
It's definitely escapism. I mean, 4 years for college and she gets a job in charge of everyone, and an offer to get her MD entirely distance so she doesn't have to ever leave again? He's MC president at 22 and money is rolling in all the time ..
She was painfully immature, coming home for the first time in 4 years and then yelling and hitting her brothers, who have been home helping their parents this whole time she had been gone, just because she doesn't see them home the first night she shows up? Her boyfriend in highschool becomes MC president (at what, 20?), When he was in the club, his dad and grandfather were president, but she thought he'd give it up and move with her and then HE broke HER heart because she decided to go without him?
Like other reviewers I have to agree. The Little Lark every single time he talks to her got repetitive. Too long a nickname for such common use.
Her temper tantrum in the first few chapters almost made me stop, but it was when she breathlessly admits even though she was gone 4 years and LIVED COMMON LAW with someone else, she had somehow never slept with anyone but the Hero.
I mean.... these characters read like a youth or YA fiction. Which I guess they are but it didn't come across well coming across as an adult MC romance. It just made them seem immature and unbelievable.
Sorry, DNF for me just on characters and while I like some suspension of disbelief, this one was too much. But I'd be willing to pick up another of the authors books and see how her writing progresses.

This story sucked me right in. Lilah Crawford ‘Little Lark’ to Levi Walker ‘Striker’ have known each other for a very long time. He is her twin older brothers best friend and President of heir club. Levi’s great grandfather started the close and has been president for the past 4 years, the same length of time Lilah has been gone, with school and RN in a big city’s hospital. Put the passing of her beloved father bring her back home but her troubles follow her. First day back home and she’s already putting her older brother’s down for their lack of help on their family’s ranch, she a strong women for most of the story and only breaks when her emotions get to her. Levi is alpha but with a heart of gold and cares about their family’s, his club and their town, even he cleaned up the club and made it clean and legit even the cops respect him and they let him handle club business as long as no innocent people are killed. Everyone protects each other. First time Levi sees Lilah his heart still loves her but their past breakup still haunts him but when her secrets is revealed he will have his woman back and claim their love to each other. During this story Levi will mention being with other women but there is no cheating in this story. Told in both POVs and with a HEA ending. Can’t wait to read more from Lila Grey.

Lilah Crawford has returned home to Montana after an unsuccessful relationship and her fathers death. Lilah expects to see her twin brothers when she gets home but after spending the night with her mom, she decides to hunt them down. Lilah couldn't be more infuriated when she finds they are still hanging out with Levi "Striker" Walker who has taken over the the Devil's Highwaymen MC in town. Her day is just going just great when Striker walks in. Lilah had hoped to bide time before seeing him again but she has his temper flaring and he wants words with her.
Striker has never forgotten Lilah and he still loves her but he is not sure he can go down that road with her again. However, when he finds out she is in trouble, he steps up and he plans to keep her safe as well as never let her go.
This was fun, Lilah is a bit of a hothead initially but she calms down after a bit as story progresses. I really enjoyed this one.

Oh my goodness, this a a freaking awesome book to read. This is the first book from this author and it was well written. I was sucked in from the get go and could not put it down. The characters were awesome and I fell in love with them. You just cannot help but feel that you are there experiencing everything with the characters.
Lilah and Levi have a chemistry everyone wants. I love the fact that there was not a continuous internal monologue about how Levi was not good for her. She accepted that her fate was with him. Oh boy, they are insatiable for each other. IT WAS HOT!! Now, Lilah has a little past that comes back to haunt her but it is all good cause Levi AKA "Striker" will do everything to protect. When he finds out about what is going on with her ex it gets nasty. But hey Lilah is no mouse for sure. She can hold her own and she does. I loved that they are both strong and they compliment each other. I cannot say enough about them. If you want to know more than I highly recommend that you read this book. I am not one to read these particular books but I can honestly say that Lila Grey has totally turned me on to them. I am now a fan for life.

The Devil’s Highwaymen MC
Lila Grey is a great story teller in this MC series. This story starts out as a young love and heartbreak. Lilah leaves town to go to college to become a doctor. Striker is with the Devil’s Highwaymen. Lilah comes back to town after her father passes away to help out and running from a crazy ex boyfriend. Now Striker is the President of the MC. Once they get back together the love that once was lost comes flying back with hot sex scenes and the crazy ex that makes trouble for the MC. I can’t wait to read the book Maverick.

I can't bring myself to give this book a 1 -- did not like -- because I know the author worked hard. But, no, I didn't like it. There was no discovery of character, because the backstory was laid out in the first few pages. The heroine was unpleasant at best. She jumped to conclusions, acted like a brat, wouldn't allow explanations, and her thought processes were childish and immature. I knew I wouldn't care if she got a HEA -- didn't think she deserved one -- and so I DNF.

A little MC and a lot of romance made this an enjoyable, if predictable, read. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Lilah and Levi rekindle and burn hot.

This was the first book that I have read by Lila Grey. I thought it was amazing and can’t wait for the next book! I was so excited to see it will be a series. Levi and Lilah...such great characters and there story totally warms my heart! Highly recommend! Congratulations Lilah Grey for a fantastic book!

DNF 70%.
Lilah and Levi (Striker) were childhood sweethearts. Levi was best friends with Lilah's older twin brothers but they started dating on Lilah's 16th birthday. Levi was part of a MC (his dad was president and his granddad had been president before so it was a big part of his life). Lilah did not like the club, at all. When she was 18 she was accepted to studying nursing in the city. Lilah wanted Levi to come to the city with her but he couldn't because he had just become President of the club. Lilah took this to mean he chose the club over her.
Lilah really annoyed me. She was adamant that Levi chose the club over her but, didn't she choose nursing over him?? Like she could have gone to school and done long distance with Levi then after 4 years move home? But no, the club was so bad and horrible.
Anyway, Lilah screams at her mom, brothers and Levi about the club and how it's awful without knowing anything and then talks about how much she can't be with Levi because he chose the club over her etc etc. Then, one night with Levi and she just goes right back to being with him? Like i love you etc etc? That wasn't believable.
Anyway, Lilah has a stalker ex too an that's part of the plot as well.

Well I hope it is the start of a new series because I loved it so much. I don't know but believe this could be a debut novel and if it is then this is a talent I am going to be following The book flowed well had plenty of snark and banter and the sexy scenes could melt your kindle what more can a girl want

I am not a huge romance novel reader, but totally like to support friends! Well she might have converted me! I was almost immediately invested in these characters because they reminded me so much of my ex and I. I couldn’t put it down. I laughed, I cried, I got anxious, I smirked, I was in the book watching it play out. The steamy scenes were just steamy enough to be tantalizing, but not so over the top I couldn’t read it at work - haha. Seriously though, A+++ in my book. Looking forward to seeing what is next and watching the characters develop more.

This is an amazing book by this author and I was completely hooked on this story from the very first page to the end. Lilah and Striker have known each other since they were kids and hes her brothers best friend. She had left her town and him. Now shes back and neither one can stay away as they are still drawn to each other and still in love with the other. This time around Striker will not let her go so easily as she is his everything. They are all willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and protected from her past that will not leave her alone. Just love these two and how much chemistry they have. I honestly can not wait for more from this series!

For a first book, this has some great potential. The plot was well thought out, but there were some bits where I felt the timelines didn't work too well. EG, he seemed pretty young to be president.
Some of the wording was a little repressive and didn't feel as though it was being spoken.
With that being said though, it wasn't a bad book. I just feel the author had to develop her style more. I would like to read something else later to see how she had developed.

I just loved Striker and Lilah's book these two were together when they were younger but when he took over his dads MC she left heartbroken now she is back in town after she loses her father and is not happy with her brother being part of the club but when danger in the form of an ex puts her at risk Striker and her brother won't stop until they know she is safe. This was a great read it is the first book in the series and I will be keeping an eye out for the next one.

Absolutely loved this book
What a great read, first time read from this author... I can’t wait to see where the series heads... Striker is the epitome of an alpha male, Lilah is a no shit taking strong woman, love of life and full of sass but she needs striker as he is her safe zone... love them to pieces!! A couple of small errors throughout but this does not disturb the flow badly 💜

I put off reviewing this because I wanted to find words. But I’m still confused. On paper, no pun intended, I should love this book! The plot, the characters, the spice all seem great. But for some reason, the writing felt rushed and somewhat off. A lot of dialogue phrases were repeated and it became predictable. I don’t know. It was a sold story and I did enjoy reading, but something about it kept me from clicking with it.

This was an amazing debut for a new author. It was sexy and hot with lots of action and two great main characters with great chemistry. I loved that Lilah is no mouse and can hold her own and is kind of a badass character. Also both are strong and compliment each other. I can highly recommend this book and am looking forward to more books from this author.

Who wouldn’t love the devils highwayman?
OMG I love striker! How hot, alpha, tough, and a biker cowboy. What more can you ask for. Lilah is smart, sassy, beautiful, and totally in love with striker. This was a great book. It had the crazy ex’s with all the drama. Highly recommend.

WOW! This one got me bad. It totally sucks you in and will not let go. I love everything about this story. It's a touch dark, definitely steamy and so worth reading. Love the characters in this intense and gripping story. I cannot wait to read more from this author!!!!

Levi and Lilah.... amazing

Amazing Must Read

This fantastic and well written book. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read.
