Are you completely satisfied with your life? Do you want more from it? These are the questions the enigmatic Xavier Titan Cane asks stationery salesman Scott Harris after a chance meeting in an airport bathroom. Xavier tells Scott he can change his life, help him become who he is meant to be. All Scott needs to do is access Identity, an application that has been mysteriously installed on his phone.

Scott has nothing to lose. The application transports him into a world where he is transformed from a boring and nervous salesperson into a smooth and charismatic spy. But fantasy and reality collide when he finds his wife murdered, a dangerous shadow organization starts chasing him, and he discovers he's more than just a salesman.

Xavier is hiding secrets.

And life just got a little more complicated for Scott.

Would you give up your life if you could live your fantasy?

Yeah, what an intriguing tale! I know of people who are sick at the thought of flying, so an app like this one may very well have appealed to them, at some time.
However, where does imagination begin and reality stops. Yeah, fake it until you make it!! Guntotting gangsters are not really meant to be part of that equation.

Mr Allen I will add the fifth star, if you contact me, as I do an error report as I read, and can forward the same to you, once I have your email address. rosemaryhughes21 at gmail.com

The idea is worth one Black Mirror episode, but the story lacks... foundation. It's never clear or given a single hint why the app is made, who made the app, or who Xavier is. Everything feels like a middle chunk of a cake without any defining edges. If you're looking for a fun, quick, everything-is-up-to-your-imagination (mind the reference) reading then this could be an option for you. Other than that, it doesn't offer much.

Are you satisfied with your life? What if there was an app for making it what you desired? This story of Scott and Xavier and the Identity app is an interesting foray into the outcome of giving someone an app to “change their life.” While it is a very short read, I’m strongly leaning toward reading the second episode.

I think it could be great…. key word … could

I thought this book started out well and I was very intrigued, however the more I read the less interested I got. It was confusing and jumped back and forth between “reality” and “dream” which wasn’t well defined. I think it really could be a great and interesting book but needs work.

Good but kinda...

Good but kinda flat ending I suppose. The storyline was able to catch my eye, but the way it ended left me with unanswered questions. If you're looking for a quick read then enjoy this book.

I thought “oooh! Finally a thriller amongst all these SYK books I downloaded”

And the only thrill I got was the short lived excitement I felt for this short lived 50 page book…

This read as a weird dream I had and can’t explain anything that happened but can explain but yet makes no sense.

An interesting read

I liked Allen’s characterization of Scott. I think the plot events were also interesting. There were some grammar issues that bothered me. I think that more research and/or depth into the world that Scott is going to find himself in would have helped.

Very slow

I was really expecting more. I was so excited for this book but it was so slow and hard to focus on. I think this will be the last time I pick a book based off of the cover.

Wow, just wow!
This was a mile a minute, suck you in, can't stop reading kind of short story! I'm glad it wasn't longer, I wouldn't get anything done!
Wow!

This is the worst book I have ever read. It makes absolutely no sense, and doesn't even have an ending. Don't waste your time or money on this.

This was a good quick read. It was hard to follow in some parts but the story line was great and am glad I read it.

I had high hopes for this but those high hopes were not met.

Meh, not my favourite book, it got good then it dipped, then it got good but overall not my favourite... Will I read the rest of them? I might get the second one to see how it goes. It's a strange story about a guy called Scott, is his life real or is it not reality? Is it a simulation?

....

It's yeah, I'll just leave it at that.

Way way too short!

This is a seat of your pants identity crisis. I couldn’t put it down and wished it had never ended.
