The dialogue is dark and there are harrowing rescues, battles with the clan’s mortal enemy and plenty of side stories. It’s the humor and sizzling sexcapades that gives this often dark plotted storyline relief. Reading this series in order is a must.
The audible edition is once again left to the very capable voice of Charles Lawrence who handles all the voices but he’s especially great at the immortal males who he gives an extra special deep inflection but he’s also good with the female voices.

Dark Warrior's Promise is the 8th book in the Children of the God's series by I. T. Lucas.
The story thus far is getting more and more complex and intricate in a way that even if I wanted to explain what I have read in this series it would be hopelessly inadequate.
However, let me give it a shot. Andrew is a government agent who has dealt with a lot in the last few months. He discovered there are immortals that walk the earth and has even met a goddess. He's even learned that he may be a Dormant - someone who has the immortal gene but without activation could be just a weird type of ordinary human.
His sister, Syssi has made the transition and become an immortal to be with her husband, Kian - the leader of the "good guys".
Then in comes Nathalie, a suspected Dormant. Who when meets Andrew they fall head over heels for each other regardless of their many challenges preventing their potential future.
This is the second book that deals with Andrews and Nathalies growing relationship as they deal with kidnapping, a fathers dementia, being short handed, gaining new staff, learning about her biological father and discovering a whole world Nathalie didn't even know existed.
The Dark Warrior quad is so far the best I've read in the Children of the Gods series however, I think it is because the old characters continue and the story is getting more and more detailed, more complicated and you get to see previous beloved characters continue with their stories along with new perspectives and points of view. It's clever and addictive writing. While this drives me mad with frustration because no book in this series is really stand alone you can't help but keep reading as the author casually weaves new webs of story into the old ones. Making it impossible to stop reading. If you don't want to read all of the books in the series my recommendation is that you don't even start at the first one.

Andrew and Nathalie's love for each other continues to grow.
It's nice to see their relationship evolve.
I don't want to give any spoilers but Andrew comes clean to Nathalie. He can't tell her everything because it is not his story to tell and Nathalie understands.
There are some LOL moments. I love Jackson and Vlad. Can't wait to see where those 2 characters take us.
There are intense moments. An abduction of one of the clan females. A war is definitely brewing now. Sebastian is a sadist and a monster. Kian really needs to step up and get the clan ready for this war.
These characters are all so great. I love that we continue to see past characters. It feels like an ongoing soap opera type series, which is totally great. I love a series that you never lose characters even though others are introduced. We still get to enjoy all the characters and their stories.

Dark Warrior’s Promise KU/purchased 376 pgs **** 6/24/21 Andrew & Nathalie
4 stars. Loved this book but still a lot of filler. Sexy scenes were better and more of them also. I met new characters, Jackson and Vlad (teenager immortals) and got to spend more time with Syssi and Kian. The Doomers have gathered with a more powerful team, still trying to find Kian’s immortals to rid the earth of them but the “good” immortals are trying to bulk up their fighters which are few so asking retired fighters to come back to help with the war is on the agenda. This book had some exciting parts in it which made it that much better. Has Andrew decided to transition to an immortal or not? Is Nathalie a Dormant? Can’t wait to read the next book to fill all the questions I have going on. Really good storyline and the flow was better, still skipped a lot of filler pages though.

Things are heating up!
I enjoy the romance part of this series but I am more into the plot and the war between the two clans of immortals. It seems to be hearing up now.
I was annoyed with Annani's clan lackadaisical attitude towards their deadly enemies called the Devout Order of Mortdh or DOOM. Even though Kian knew they were in Los Angeles and looking for his clan, he didn't do a lot to keep his clan safe.
But now that Carol has been abducted by the Doomers, he is started to take the offense which is what should have been done, in my not so humble opinion, in the first place.
Meanwhile there are smaller background stories being told too like if Alex is smuggling women for slavery.
I'm excited to read the next book.

Fantastic Characters
Dark Warrior's Promise is part of I. T. Lucas' The Children of the Gods series. I love this series. With each new book the story grows and pulls me in more and more. I can't get enough. I've managed to read at least a book and a half everyday since starting the series last week. I just can't stop. Lucky for me there are more than 20 books already released. I can't wait to see what happens next. The characters are amazing. The storyline is so in-depth that the more you read the more you want to read. If you love paranormal and mythology then this is the perfect series for you.

GRIPPING!
Things are coming to an interesting conclusion for Andrew and Nathalie. Secrets are being revealed, Carol's rescue plan is slowly moving forward (finally!) and the bakery is starting to make a profit thanks to Jackson and Vlad. Why then is Nathalie feeling a little unhappy with her life and her relationship with Andrew? As if he is holding a piece of himself separate from her? Things really get interesting in the latter part of Dark Warrior's Promise: secrets revealed, promises kept. Not sure how it could happen, but this series seems to get better and better with each book!

8 books in- and I still love it
I can’t believe I picked up this series, the amount was so daunting, but after flying from book to book I have to say I.T. Lucas is a phenomenal writer. We meet characters slowly but consistently in such a way that It doesn’t feel like popcorn, but more like layers of an onion, still getting bits and pieces from your original characters as the story moves on from person to person, and the bottom line develops. Yah, you’ve got me with this one, thank goodness for kindle and having each book at the touch of my fingers!

Andrew has been given the hurry-up by Syssi's vision, transition now. The maniac Doomer General is torturing a stolen female Immortal, for which I hope he gets torn to shreds by the Guardians. War is imminent.
The tension has been racked up in this book & it's all getting thrilling. I love that the one thing that shines out of these Immortals is their humanity, strange as that sounds as they aren't human. It's all down to how beautifully crafted each character is, superb writing.

Funny, I didn't think I would get this far in the series but boredom is not an option with the paranormal storyline & plots written by the author I.T. Lucas. You too can read and get caught up in the world of immortal and mortal 💘 by reading 📚 1-8. I gave this a 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 rating.

Excellent Series, wonderfully entertaining!

Lucas/dark warriors promise
In this series , the immortal doomers whom is run by a man who is called Sebastian are enemies to kian and his clan. But the doomers has capture one of kian people and they are planning an attack to charge into their stronghold once they find out where it is to bring back their own that has been capture. Very well written. Loved the story , need to followed the series in the order it is written to grasp what the story is about.

Dark Warrior Series
As paranormal romance goes these are pretty much the best I've read. I'm not into romance novels in general, and find the prolific , graphic sex scenes more a hindrance than a benefit. There's no way to have so many and not have them become redundant . However, i do like the story behind these enough to keep me reading, so that definitely says something.

Riveting!
Andrew and Nathalie admit their feelings. Nathalie is torn because she feels that Andrew is hiding things from her. She is suspicious as to why he wants to find her mother. But then the clan finds itself in crisis and Syssie has a vision about Andrew.
As usual Isabel keeps us all in suspense after bringing everything to a climax.

Same formula..
Since reading these books back to back, it's easy to see I.T.'s formula. Immortal meets mortal in book 1. Book 2, insert conflict. Book 3 of set, resolve problem, but leave one strand hanging for next 3 books in the series.
Rinse, repeat.
Being a good writer helps overcome this problem somewhat, but I find myself starting to lose interest.
Gone reading..

Still enjoying this series. This novel continues Andrew and Nathalie's storyline, as well as delving deeper into Alex's misdeeds on his yacht and the impending clash between the Doomers and Kian's clan. I think I read this entire book in one day (granted, I was on vacation, but still... it's a page-turner!).

So much going on. So exciting and intense. Nathalie and Andrew are becoming more secure in their relationship and so ,of course, it is now time for the truth to be revealed. A couple new characters are introduced. Clues are found about Eva. The Doomers have made their play. Exciting things are happening.

Andrew is tip toeing around nat about immortals.she worrys about what he is not saying.ghost sage still haven't figured out who he is yet (that's kind of sad poor Mark) why didn't he take her to Amanda as soon as she said she is a ghost whisper? After all her father is a immortal. Yes it carries from mums not dad's but it's clear she is.

Review
Even after 8 books it's still interesting, full of action, full of romance and naughty escapades. The Sebastian and Carol part of the storyline it a little to violent and unsettling for me, but I just pass over the parts I can't stomach. The writing is very good.

This series is nothing short of excellent! This whole series is amazing, and I read one book after another after another ! I recommend it highly to anyone. this is a very unique series and I love it and hope it continues for a very long time!

I have reread these books more that twice I love how their love grew and how Andrew was willing to become immortal for Natalie and how she became pregnant with Phoenix and that Annani was willing to make sure Andrew survived
