Caveman Aliens #8

Caveman Alien’s Trick

Rate this book

Phoebe...

A caveman tricked me!

It was the oldest trick in the book. And I fell for it!

I’m inside a pitch black leather sack, being carried away from my village and the other Earth girls. I scream and kick, but nobody can hear me!

I know what this means. The giant caveman carrying me is taking me to his tribe...

I’m the only woman he’s been this close to. And these guys like to abduct Earth girls and impregnate them. It won’t work with me...

I’ll escape the first chance I get. And if escape is impossible, I’ll kill him!

Or myself!

I can be tricky, too!

Rax’tar...

It was remarkably easy to capture this alien woman...

It is a sign from the Ancestors, of course. She is meant to be mine!

And what a woman she is! Small, soft and luxuriously round. She makes my blood sizzle just by existing!

I have plans for her. Taking her from her alien village was the first step...

The other men will be so surprised when I arrive with her!

I have read all of the books in the Caveman Alien series as well as the Fire Planet Warriors books. Each book was fantastic, and there was plenty of action throughout. Unfortunately, this book was very disappointing and lacked the excitement of the other books. Each of the books in this and the Fire series showcased one of the woman who had been abducted from earth and dropped on this primitive Jurassic planet. Each woman brought some useful skill to help the group survive. Their personalities were all distinct and interesting--even quirky. The Cavemen were all Alpha males, fearless, intelligent, and adept at fighting and killing the various deadly animals on the planet that threatened them and the women. They too had well-defined personalities.

In this book, Phoebe, lacked any real discernible personality. She was boring and uninteresting. She stared at the stars and made maps using primitive materials on the planet. Exciting? NOT. Yes, she was unhappy about her situation, but she did nothing to distinguish herself or do much to contribute to this newly formed tribe.

Rax’tar was equally uninteresting. He was more passive than the other Cavemen in the series and did more avoidance than anything. Now, that showcased his intelligence, but made for a pretty boring foray into the dangerous jungle. This just made the book dull and unentertaining.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the fact that the caveman in this book was introduced as Rax'tar. In attempting to pronounce his name, Phoebe initially pronounced it as Rock star. While the caveman corrected her pronunciation, Rock star stuck in my mind. Imagine how perplexed I was when suddenly Phoebe started calling the caveman Rax’tan. This happened frequently in the latter part of the book sometimes paragraphs apart. My opinion is that this is sloppy and lacked basic editing.

I have one last comment that I found has been consistent throughout the Caveman series books and I sincerely hope will be changed in future books. When in the throes of passion and at the “point of no return,” each woman has either yelled or screamed “yeah.” Yeah, um, that is extremely unrealistic, even unlikely. Yeah, that’s not a good thing. Yeah, some variety in language at the climatic time would definitely be an improvement. Yeah.

This book is really isn’t representative of this author’s previous books, and the series is exciting, quite novel in the overall concept, and worth reading. Hopefully, this was just an anomaly, never to be repeated.

Every few months a new story about cavemen living on the planet X’ren is released and I find myself looking forward to them more and more. Once again we have a caveman kidnapping on our hands and this time it’s Phoebe, one of the dragon girls. Phoebe is not doing well on the alien planet, she’s depressed home sick and can’t even find joy in waking up alive every morning. Rax’tar is visiting the alien tribe of women and seeing Phoebe’s unhappiness decides not only can he save her but he can have her for himself as well. One of the things that’s always impressive about this series is the setting. Each book has the characters exploring more and more of this strange planet and this time Phoebe finds her man living in a giant tree in the middle of a “sea tree” marsh bordering an ocean, which makes her deliriously happy. Phoebe works on making maps of the planet and traveling to Rax’tar’s home is just what she needed. The continuing plot line of the dragons heading to the planet also plays a large role as Phoebe is unfortunate enough to find herself in the midst of three male dragons in search of items for their horde, fresh from flying through space. If that wasn’t bad enough the dragon . I’m wondering that even if this is a series about cavemen, perhaps we may see something different in a upcoming book, either way count me in. I love this series and these hot totally devoted men with stripes 🤫😘

I have read all 8 books relating to cavemen bu Calista Skye. I was a bit underwhelmed by this one. I know each character has his or her own personality but this was just a little less than I anticipated. Here’s hoping that it was a fluke and the next in the series is back to the exciting adventures that I have come to expect.

Loved every single second of this book

Oh my gosh!!! This book was epic! Possessive, dominant alpha alien who has never seen a woman before? Check! Fighting Dino’s and dragons to protect her? Check!

This book was fun, exciting and steamy! And the bestest most wonderful part? Double virgins! *fist pump*

We need more books like this in sci-fi romance!

3.5 Stars. I was starting to think that this series was getting to predictable the just like that Calista Skye surprised me again. Phoebe did get on my nerves. I enjoyed how each character is different.

A fun addition to this series!

Phoebe is a good lead to follow, very relatable in her desires to return home and what seemed like some depression as well. It’s nice to watch her character blossom more as she finds ways to make herself useful and fulfilled. She’s smart and handy, but she’s also naive which just gets her into trouble and it’s kind of hilarious. A bit of an airhead at times.

Rax’tar is a male lead that I’m not personally fond of, but he suits the role he’s meant to play in the story and I can appreciate that. I’m not usually fond of the “I’m too cool for this” type of guys but that’s exactly what he is. The best moments is seeing him dropped down a peg and actually taking responsibility for his bad actions thanks to his feelings for Phoebe. He grows in some ways, but he remains cocky and keeps his character intact.

The story itself is more calm, much less action. Most of the action is at the end and it’s very rewarding. It makes this a more relaxing read for the most part and then the end is a nice little taste of intensity to finish things off. Things are really heating up on the story and moving along nicely. I really appreciate getting bits of lore like this.

Gave it 4 stars

Only because of the ending. Can not stand the "rockstar" mate.
Guess the author has a thing about pirates, with all the abductions a d repeating theme of Stockholm syndrome.
Personally never liked rape and pillage pirates, etc. Because I love history, not holiday fiction I know it is not romantic.
As to this story, loved the new place they traveled to and the pirates.
Did not like the condensending treatment of the little woman especially with the canoe. Should have just fessed up about plan and collaborated on their different ideas.
As to her escape. Please. She could have taking a stick to their butts and knocked some sense into all but the one. Who seems to have escaped his just deserts. Should have sent him to kill the dragons

Grammatical nightmare

I will say over and over that this is my favorite series.. no matter how many times I read it. HOWEVER.. there must’ve been a ghost writer that didn’t really understand/follow the story.. the characters were mixed up, characteristics, such as “tamer of bigs”, was not Ar’ox, couples mixed up, etc. There are many H and h to keep track of, but really? No way Calista would make such silly mistakes. This continues to happen randomly throughout the series, which continues to drive me insane.

Continuing with slaying dragons

At this point the girls get more stupid and the abduction is the new way of courting on the planet. I read them all to get the link to the dragon mystery. And how from furious on the next day the gal jumps to sleeping with the caveman is beyond me. But seriously supposedly all of the women have high education, but in reality they behave childish, which is really confusing.

Rock Star 🌟

Phoebe and Rak'tar are made for each other. He is bossy and down to earth. She is eyes to the sky and a dreamer who is depressed with where she is. Boom, here comes Rak'tar and he takes her and doesn't consider what he's done. Well it works out for the best. Even better than the best. Great story!

Caveman Alien trick

Excellent series, all standalone reads but the series enriches the storyline. On a planet with no females the arrival of abducted females from earth has stirred the planet. Each pairing of a female with a chosen caveman enriches the new intermingled tribe. They now have a major threat from the dragons

This was difficult to rate and I would give it 3.5 stars is that was an option

I enjoyed the book but I had issues with how quickly Phoebe fell for Rax’tar, the whole kidnapping Stockholm thing, the plan to kidnap other women etc

I did enjoy learning a but more about the dragons though and about a new area of Xren.

Kidnapped

It's amazing what it takes to convince a person of wrong doing. That's what this Caveman's woman learned.

This book is written as well as the previous books and I have yet to lose interest. The author is very talented.

Rockstar book

Loved this storyline. Lot’s of fun with comparisons to a child’s tale. I would recommend this book as well as the story line and previous books. I can’t wait to see what happens with the two remaining dragons.

quick reads

I really enjoy these books, but they are very similar. They read quickly and the adventure side of them is great. The hanky panky is getting more tame. Glad there was finally a son. I’d love for there to be a love triangle, that could be interesting

Good.

There’s a lot of redundancy in this book when looking back at the others in the series. It’s different enough to make it good, though.
