While trying to figure out a way around Logan's silencing compulsion, Ella concocts an ambitious plan. What if instead of trying to keep him out of her dreams, she could pretend to like him and lure him into a trap?
Catching Navuh’s son would be a major boon for the clan, as well as for Ella. She will have her revenge, turning the tables on another scumbag out to get her.
Ella is all over the place. She is confused about her feelings for Logan and Julian. She is head strong and puts a brave face, but all the emotional turmoil she is going through, shows that she has truly been affected by her kidnapping and losing her virginity to the Russian. Julian needs to step up more. He is a grown man and needs to take the initiative to get Ella to speak more. He also can't put everything on Ella since she is only a teenager and has no experience. He should know better. Parker looks like he may become a handful. I know we will see and hear more about Parker and his new found ability. Will he choose to abuse his new found powers? Logan is manipulating Ella. What does he really want from Ella? This was a slow read. There isn't any action at all. We are just getting into the heart of Ella and Julian's feelings. I hope they are indeed fated for each other. I hope Ella is not Logan's fated mate. We at least got to see a little of Anandur and Wonder. I miss the other characters. We definitely don't get to see any of them anymore. Ella and Kian and Turner are developing a plan to capture Logan. Looking forward to see what develops. Overall, still into this series and cant' wait to get into the next installment.
Dumb Ella finally realizes her dream is not a dream and that the guy visiting her is an immortal and not from the clan. Took her long enough after hearing about fangs and paranormal abilities like telepathy to finally put the clues together.
Parker’s ability manifests and it’s awesome. Love the little guy.
Ella finally makes a breakthrough in her recovery with Julian’s help. It took them dancing around their feelings and a lot of non communication, which was annoying as hell to read. So much so that I had to skip a bit, especially Ella’s inner monologue. The girl is just too stupid. Things staring her right in the face are dismissed with some illogical excuse or other explanation. She asks for advice about things, but never gives the details which is annoying because how can someone give you proper advice without knowing exactly what the problem is? The answer would be different with specifics.
Vivian is still procrastinating on transitioning and I believe Ella has been back for about a month. I understand the reason for the wait, but it’s getting drawn out. The likelihood of her being in a long coma is slim.
See my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!
Dark Dream’s Unraveling KU 283 pgs *** 7/19/21 Julian & Ella
3 stars. This story is okay but Ella is very frustrating. She is so wishy washy with what she wants, has no clue whether she wants Julian or Logan. She put Julian off the entire book until finally he forced her to talk to him in the end and get some of the confusion she was putting out there to light. She wants darkness but she wants light, she wants alpha male but wants Julian’s sweetness. The flow was choppy with all of this going on and quite a bit of in the head talking which I hate anyway. I am still not that fond of Ella but then again, Julian is still too nice of a guy to be real. Neither one of them know what they want to do for a career and it jumps all over the place with maybe I can do this or maybe I want to do that. I just got tired of their story in this book. It was pretty bland and at time just boring.
Every time I tell myself that I’m going to give the series a rest for now and come back to it later after reading another author’s book(s) for a while. I keep ordering the next in the series. I can’t help myself! The only thing I say that bothers me is the redundant use of he/she, “waved a dismissive hand” or “he tapped his fingers on the table “. While the second quote usually referred to Kian which is just probably his nature; the first quote is used over and over with different characters at about 3 times within any chapter. But all-in-all, its a good series.
While living up to the I.T. Lucas standards, Dark Dream's Unraveling has Ella and Julian's relationship in flux. She is still in contact with Logan via her dreams, in fact they have increased and confused her feelings for Julian. Rather than accepting anyone's help, especially the clan's therapist Vanessa, Ella is trying to heal herself. Read this installment to find out if the couple attempts to resolve their issues, and Kian's decision on what to do about Logan will change their future - both are momentous!
Ella is very headstrong, clever and tenacious. Qualities that could very well help her in her against Lokan (Logan). In some ways she is very mature for her age and others not so much. But hey aren’t we all similar to that. Julian is hilarious on one hand, annoying and so very perfect for Ella. The next is going to be heart stopping fantastic as the clan goes after Lokan!! I can’t wait to read it!!!
Can't get enough of these books, Ella's story started in Vivian and Magnus' story and it's a heart wrenching tale. There is no pulling the punches here, Ella has been abused (even if she believes it was with her consent), kidnapped and sold to a Russian Mafia boss she has a lot of baggage but will she acknowledge it? Then there is the dream walker Doomer, is Ella truly safe? Can't wait for the next book to see where this is going.
This author I love to read and I adore this series. Really love that Ella is being honest with herself and letting Julian in. It's great that the author also includes little snippets of other characters lives. Only issue I have is writing a continueing storyline as trilogies makes me crazy waiting for the finale. But the series is awesome and will look forward to all that follow.
I have loved this series but found this book fragmented. Too many stops and starts and decreased fluidity between couples/characters. I found Ella indecisive and felt she missed the mark of taking charge. Julian pulls back so much that he lacks strength and definition. The couple is sad. The placement of a scene where they are attacked is so bad I still can't figure out how it landed where it did. Just not the book I wanted at all.
Sorry to say but this may have been my least favorite of this whole series. It moved very slow and not enough progress with the story. I am getting impatient with how slow Ella and Julians relationship is going. We need more sexy moments. I hope the next book is more exciting.
I found this story slower and not as interesting as the two before hand. Hopefully this is just because it is setting up for the next in the series. Julian is not a character I have really connected with, so this may be influencing my feelings. I am interested to see which way this story goes, hopefully it goes in the direction that will be interesting.
I.T. Lucas do not disappoint. Every book in this series is extremely well written. For this series to be on book 27, she has not faltered. Every single book is good and waiting for the next. It's painful to have to wait for the next. I'm a avid reader and I have read others books waiting for the next, but they just don't compare.
Slow Paced compared to older books in the series. I got the impression to watch a tv series where you here to keep watching to finally get to the end story and it is frustrating. It of course get you to buy more books. I very much prefer to get a story finished in one book. Same more honest.
Love this series. But where are the black folks? You mean to tell me that these immortals are ancient and no black people to be found in their clan? Weren't the first people found in Africa? Black people read too. Please put some melanin in. And I'm not just talking about another ambiguous dark toned person like Yamanu.
I have read every book so far in this series and anxiously await the next book. This is book number 27 and habit loss interests at all. What an awesome series. This is one of those series that you just don't get tired of and you sure will hate to see the end of. Don't miss out you will get invested in every one of these characters. It grab my attention from book 1 and still has it.
I am so guilty of jumping from one book to the next and not leaving a review. I apologize Ms. Lucas. This series is so amazing and the author makes the characters so lifelike no matter the age not sex of the characters she is spot on in her story telling! Practically Perfect in every way. Mary Poppins has NOTHING on Lucas!!!!
So from the very beginning of Ella's story I have been struggling reading her tales. Despite where we are right now, it's just as difficult. I cry with her, for her, and for Vivian and Julian. Do deep and dark. My heart is stressed. Knowing what's coming in the next book has my palpitations picking up speed!
The storyline is great. I love the many dynamic characters. Their history and compatibility, or lack thereof are fascinating. The examination of each character is intriguing as you delve into the twists and turns of their intertwined lives. I can't stop reading about them! It's a very enjoyable series!
Ella’s strength through this book was commendable. Once you started reading, you just can’t stop. Then you have to move on to the next to find out just how much good or bad luck follows her. I can’t wait for the girl to transition and wind up with the love of her life.
This series is a 5 star .... I love this book Elle is finally figuring out she needs help. Julian is going all the way in to prove his love. Looking forward to reading the next book in series.
The relationship between Julian and Ella begin to form they get to the bottom of her guilt and move to next stage of relationship. Parker discovers his power. And the clan is beginning to progress in this battle against doomers organization.
Watching the story of Ella and Julian unfold is intriguing to say the least. I am still on tilt that the book ended and wonder if Dr D will win? I love this series and Lucas keeps it fresh and interesting! You would think #28 would be stale by now? No way! A must read!
Books keep getting better but frustrating at the same time. I want to know the ending and hope it's good but the suspense keeps me coming back!! Can't wait for the next book!!
I.T. Lucas has a hit with these books and gets you hooked from the first sentence . It will keep you coming back time and again to find out more about this group of characters. I love that at some point all the characters intertwine and come together .
I tried really hard to moderate my reading. I really did. It did not work. Now I have to wait a couple of months for the next installment. Love, love, love this series!!!
I can't seem to put these down. The fated mates thing is pretty much the same but the additional storylines and the way they entwine keeps it from getting old. I can't wait for more.
I would recommend these books to everyone who enjoys reading. You feel as if you are reading about family because you get to know the characters and their stories. When they end you still want more. I love these books.
I'm seriously addicted to this series! Dark Dreams Unraveling had me reading non-stop as the plot thickens. Definitely watching for the next installment. I highly recommend this series for those that like stories of immortals and finding true love 💘
I absolutely love the progression of one couple to the next. Most books never revisit the relationships formed in earlier series it with these ,it feels like no one is truly ever forgotten and that is what makes me miss coming back for the next edition.
