It is said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Hungry for power and infatuated with the beautiful Areana, Navuh plots his father's demise. After all, by getting rid of the insane god he would be doing the world a favor. Except, when gods and immortals conspire against each other, humanity pays the price.
But things are not what they seem, and prophecies should not to be trusted...
Really enjoyed this part of the"prequel/origin"... I hope it is going in the direction I think!! These stories have excellent characters and wonderful world building!! I love the multiple POV's!!
Loved this prequel. Fills in some gaps and makes you ask new questions about the future. If you are a fan of the series the two orginians stories are a must. They are quick, full of information and insight into some of our favourite characters in the Children of the Gods books. I look forward to what I hope if I have followed the clue correctly will happen. Everyone deserves happiness :)
I liked seeing another view of the Doomer's leader Navuh in this book but it still was slightly boring for me. There were a few unlikely scenes and conversations that really jarred me out of the story.
I did like Areana and i do hope we get to see her and Gulan's sister in future books. It was also good that we saw what happened to Gulan/Wonder all those years ago with the possible survival of another much loved character so i can't wait to see how that pans out.
The ending could have been a lot longer but still it wrapped up nicely.
Great 2nd part to the series, I really enjoyed reading it, although I wish we had more chapters from Gulan - the whole scene where she is bumped on the head and one of the caravans goes into the cavern doesn't make sense with Mordth seeing the slice in the earth and all of the caravans going into the cavern. Especially since Gulan was supposed to leave before Khiann was even on the road - so how did he end up in this caravan group - He sent Esag way before he even went on his job for his father. So something is not right in this timeline, unless something else happened to Khiann or Gulan's caravan met with his but surely he would have recognized her and how did he make it up to where she was so fast when he left at least days after her. Also we never here of Esag's journey after him and the crew come back from following the first set of caravans - whatever happened?? So besides this whole debacle the story was good, Navuh is always plotting on something which is interesting, however we still don't know what truly happen to his father Mordth. So there is alot of unanswered questions in this - although the series continues, I read some of the synopsis and it doesn't look like Ananni or the gang is in it, so will we ever really know what happens???? I need answers lol.
Goddess's Hope is book 2 of I T Lucas The Children of The Gods Origin series. I must say that this series and the next The Children of The Gods has become my favorite series of all time. I read the origins sits after reading 37 books of the other series and I must say it was wonderful to get Annini and Arenna's back stories. The world building is absolutely magnificent. The mix of history and mythology makes the stories seem so believable. You can actually see the places and people in your minds eye. I really hope we get more of the goddesses stories at some point. The life they both must have lived between the 2 series boggles the mind. Bravo Mrs Lucas on creating a world filled with possibilities and characters that never fail to broaden the horizon of the story.
I've read all of The Children of the Gods books in the series so far. While waiting for book 94 to come out, I decided to read the origin books. The good about this book is it does give so many answers you don't get in the actual series.
The bad: Please Isabel, add some warnings about abuse & SA. Add it right before chapter 1 starts. As a former victim of both myself, I was heavily triggered & almost quit because of Areana & Navuh's "relationship".
These two are NOT truelove mates & never will be. Navuh is an abuser & manipulates Areana into believing that she can "save" him. This made me relive past trauma. I'm sorry, I really tried to like it.
All of your other books have been great. I wish there was a way to have told this story without the so called "romance".....
This is the story of the goddess Areana, sister to Annani. When Annani found her soulmate her father gave her his blessing to marry her love. This was a complicated matter as she had been promised to the God Mordth. Mordth is evil and becomes enraged and seeks revenge. The story takes off with lots of intrigue. We are introduced to Mordth's son Navauh. The webs of sexual tension, deceit and loyality continue and the story explodes. This book is a great insight into the story of the gods and fills in the gaps but leaves the door open to many unanswered questions. Again, this author delivers a wonderful novel. Her characters and plot are excellent. You will not be disappointed, however reading the books in sequence is important.
This book blew everything I've read in the first 19 books of The Children of the Gods series out of the water. What we thought we knew about Khiann, Annani and Mortdh is not as it seemed.
Navuh turned out to be an interesting character. I don't know if this book was just to provide a compelling look at why/how Navuh became the person he was or if it was too make us love him, hate him or love to hate him.
This story also answers more of the questions that have been raised this far in the series and gives us a peek at who some of the mysterious characters are that have popped up (at least I think I've figured out one or two of them).
OMG, this book should classified as essential reading to put Navuh's part in the Gods and Goddesses death and that Khiann's possible death as a result of the earthquake and not Navuh. It also explains how Annani may yet still have the three more children to make the seven for Khiann if he is buried in stacious. Wow. I would love a novella about Annani's lovers that she had children with and that each one was actually Khiann making her children goddesses and a god. It's also a shame that both of Annani's other two daughters and the lead guardian have not be mated yet.
This story puts so much in context. Well written as usual and just makes you want the books to go on forever.
Mortdh’s irate he wasn’t able to force Annani to marry him, he believes, he’s humiliating Areana, the goddess now promised to him by leaving her with instructions for her to follow. Little does Mortdh know Areana wanted to delay leaving with him or how much it pleased Mortdh’s immortal son and heir, Navuh, who plans to overthrow Mortdh and marry Areana himself.
Meanwhile, Gulan leaves, unable to face the man she loves marry another… the search is on to find her and bring her back. Mortdh comes up with a scheme to kill Annani’s new husband, Khiann, believing it will allow him to have both of his enemy’s daughters, a wife and a concubine. Mortdh ultimately goes missing and Navuh moves to put his own scheme in play. Rating: 4stars
It is amazing how Lucas manages to insert hooks into her stories. There are a number in this one that has me looking forward to, not only the next book but, the ones that will follow to fulfill the prophecy. Will Esag have accompanied Khiann on his ill fated journey? I have to say that I’m a little confused about the time line. I was under the impression that Gulan left before Khiann took his caravan out, or did the earthquake cover such a large area that it took out more than one caravan? We’ll find out eventually I suppose.
Though I found Annani's story difficult to find as riveting (I already knew where we were in her children's stories) reading about Areana was a lot more like the other stories we have read. It was newer and the characters, Navuh and Areana, are able to grow on us. After reading this story, I want to see if there is a chance that Areana and Annani can be reunited, and if there might be some redeeming quality in Navuh, and by extension all the doomers. I'm sorry Annani's story didn't hold me, but I am overjoyed that all the others do that so easily!
I loved this book but it’s incomplete... I want more explanation for Nauva and Adrienna.. all the books were three books to complete the story.. where is the third book?? I want to see what happened and how/why Nauva becomes evil. After his dad died and being mates to Adrienna, he should have become better... What happed to Adrienna? Was she locked up or did she rule the Doomers with him? I think Lucas is their son!!
I can’t wait for Annani and Kiann book!!! *please excuse the misspelling of the names*
Goddess's Hope tells the story of Annani's older sister, Areanna and her interactions with Mortdh and his son Navuh. She is the unfortunate pawn in a chess game used to keep Mortdh from attacking when Annani breaks their betrothal. What happens later surprises her more than anyone else. Navuh turns out to be a possible ally, and maybe much more if she is able to trust her senses. Can she, better still will she find happiness with Mordth's son? Read Goddess's Hope to find out, you will not be disappointed!
I’m not saying it’s bad, but it wasn’t super great. Dude is a huge ass like his father. But I mean what more can you expect with him being raised by him. Areana was nice I liked her, but when it came to him I found her a bit of a push over. 🤷🏻♀️ just being honest. Still leaving with a lot of holes in the story and no answers. Maybe they are in the rest of the books of the Child of the Gods. Either way I’m willing to give the next one a chance!
I'm so glad we get to see the history and how things really went down with Mortdh, Navuh, Areana and Annani and even Gulan. This really helped understand what happened and fills in the gaps of the past. Is Khianne really dead? Could he survive the tragedy? We really don't know for sure if it was Mortdh or Navuh's fault that the entire counsel of he Gods perished. All in all this was a perfect Prequel to give us more insight. Would love to get more Prequel's like this of Annani's life before she had her children and the same with Areana.
I'm so grateful that I. T. Lucas wrote these 2 books as a prequel to The Children of the Gods series. They gave some back story and really good insight into some of the characters. I had read far enough into The Children of the Gods series that I received the "suggestion" to read these 2 before proceeding. They have changed my perspective on 2 key characters for the rest of the series and probably given me a little insight into where the storyline may take us. I also have a couple of questions that I hope will be answered moving forward, as well.
Oh my Goddess, I. T. LUCAS, you've outdone yourself with this story. I finally know why Annani is still in love with Khiann after all that time. You made me cry again!!!! Areanna and Navuh are kind of sweet until he isn't. I have read all the rest of the series, and I am looking forward to the 12 July for the next instalment! I'm so excited for Morelle's story. XxxX
I really enjoyed this story about Annani & Areana It goes back to the beginning of how things came to be. I.hope we will get more about them in following books. This brought about questions will Annani's be reunited with Khiann & could others thought dead be back. Hopefully we will learn more on the beginning of everything.
Another amazing, full of life storyline. This author has a knack for extraordinary tales. This is my 3rd book and I keep coming back. Holy wow, hot. With delicious sex. I can’t begin to express how much these are. Spectacular! I recommend the whole set wholeheartedly. If you don’t read these, Dear readers you’ll miss out.
I love going back to the beginning and finding out how it all began. The love stories are so realistic and intriguing. What everyone thinks happened to kill all the Gods and what really happened is a master piece put together by I.T. Lucas. I love this series. This series and BDB are the best vampire books ever written.
That's how it ends like that .everyone end miserable and his son turned out to be a Jerk and was no better than his dad . Well I guess that's how it ends I guess that was the conclusion.i really liked this book but not to know what happen to any off the characters and here everything ends and that it .waste
This short series of the life of the gods before their where destroyed was fantastic it not only satisfied while waited the next instalment of the children of the gods but helped me understand all the connections. Great job I.T Lucas can’t wait the goddess to find her one true love again.
Not that I didn't like it, it just wasn't what I expected. I wasted 3.99. not enough back story and as much as I've grown to love Annani in The Children of The Gods series this book as well as the the previous one painted her in a disgusting light. She came off as selfish and rude. She wants what she wants regardless of what Khiann wanted. Smh
Fabulous story! Finished too quick. Can't wait to find out what happens to Areana and her maid I hope she's still alive. Can't put this book. So beautifully written. Thanks i.t. lucas
Love this series but I wonder why the series wasn't started with this book and Annani's story. Can't wait for the next one in the series to come out. Love these books.
It was so nice going back in time and finding out about the goddess . I hope there will be more, I would like to know what happened. Also a book on areana would be nice. I will leave it at that don't want to ! So ill it. Gear book. ,;
As always I.T Lucas ends the story with cliffhanger and leaving you to wait for continuation. Areana and Navuh’s is darker than the others but reader is drawn to see it go further
These books just keep getting better and better. Nobody can spin a story of otherwise ,ancient God's and the present like I.T. Lucas. Her characters are the ones you wish were your neighbors .Though you would never remember them if they were. Haha
