So this book is really only 300 pages long. I loved the story but I’m really tired of the authors “cliff hangers” I wish she would do these in whole books instead of breaking every 300 pages then having to wait months for the next one

Mixed Feelings (There Mayl Be Spoilers)

I was so excited to finally have a book about Yamanu!! He has been such an enigma in the other books... we're told of his unusual good looks and his even more unusual powers, but only in glimpses.

Finally, a book to put it all out there and tell us ALL about Yamanu!

Or so I thought.

Don't get me wrong... it was still a pretty good read, but it wasn't enough.

A team from the Clan is in NY in order to draw Kalugal out of "hiding." Alena, Annani's daughter, is going undercover as a model and several Guardians, including Yamanu, are posing as her entourage. This is how they meet Mey.

If you've read any of the other books, then you'll recall that potential Dormants often manifest paranormal abilities...and if those abilities run in the family (think back to Vivian and her children from the Dark Widow series), then it's even more likely. So when we find out that Mey and her sister, Jin, both possess an ability...well, there's no real mystery there. There is some mystery, however, because Jin has, for all intents and purposes disappeared. And Mey could be in trouble, too.

There's another mystery here as well... Yamanu has a secret that no one knows...not his best friend, not his leader... probably not even the goddess Annani herself. It's a secret that helps him protect his clan...and it could keep him and Mey apart.

Personally, I'd rather have learned more about Yamanu's secret...the reason why he must do what does...than to have read about day-long shopping trips and walks on Wall Street.

It felt like I waited for this book forever (yes, I'm being overly dramatic... especially since it came out earlier than expected), and now it feels like I'm still waiting. Yamanu has a huge decision to make, and whatever he decides could negatively impact people he cares about...

And I have to wait until November to find out what happens... :(

Wasn’t as painful but…

The drawing out of the story with all the fillers in between dialogue… ugh. I think it only happened a couple times in this one but since the last one was near the end of the book it made me remember all the ones in the previous books. I forget what they were talking about when someone says something or asks a question then there’s five paragraphs of inner monologue before the other person responds. I’m then like, “what are they talking about?” then have to scroll back up. Ridiculous. That’s too much.

Anyway, Mei’s story was fast paced, but somehow still dragged. I predicted early when Yamanu first saw Mei that it wouldn’t be till the end of the book before the dormant conversation was going to be had and also that there were going to be numerous clues on Yamanu’s behalf to figure it out and they were going to be dismissed (in my notes and highlights). It seems that putting two and two together is extremely hard when these immortal men meet dormant women, especially true love mates, despite the pull and connection they feel towards them. Most of them have lived for hundreds of years (save Jackson and Julian) and have never felt this towards any of the thousands of females they have ever been with, but somehow they are clueless as to why. Baffling.

Anyway, looking forward to finding Jin and this super secret organization that recruited her and also what caused Yamanu to take up this vow. It seems like him having sex lessens his abilities or something. See my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!

Dark Queen’s Quest KU 297 pgs **.* 7/25/21 Yamanu & Mey

2.5 stars. Slow flow, pretty boring to me. Not sure if we know why Yamanu took a vow of celibacy or not, if so, I can’t remember. It was hard to keep reading this story, nothing really exciting happens, a few modeling sessions, trying to find Lokan’s brother K in NYC which was why the modeling thing to draw him out but that really didn’t happen in this book. Mey was okay, nothing special really, she worried about where her sister was most of the book. She does have an ability so maybe she is a Dormant. Yamanu and Mey’s chemistry isn’t really there at all. He pleasures her but he takes potions to keep himself celibate. They think they are true mates after about 5 days but neither are sure of anything really. The very end piked my interest so I am really hoping the next book will be better because this one didn’t do it for me.

So excited to get Yamanu's story. He has been such a recluse and not much is known about him and why he has been celibate.
Love at first sight between him and Mey. They make such a perfect couple. Can't wait to dive deeper into their relationship and see it evolve. Yamanu is so hesitant but still the perfect gentleman.
Alena is such a sweet woman. I love how she puts her foot down and takes control. She is not the docile woman we have all thought she was. She has strength and intelligence and knows how to manipulate situations. It is so funny how she initiates things between Yamanu and Mey.
Who is following Mey? Where is her sister Jin? Will Kolugal come out and search for Alena?
Can't wait to get into the next book in this series.

This last installment was slightly underwhelming although I do love how each character of the clan gets a very interesting back story which always makes you want to read more of these books.

I think Mey fell for Yamanu far too quickly for me to be truly invested in this relationship as the talk of children just 4 days in is a little bit ridiculous. She didn't seem fazed at all when told of who Yamanu truly was and was so quick to go along with his plans.

Still love this series and I do hope it ends well for this couple.

So many twists in this series

New characters emerge in this series. They are fascinating and add to the story. Met and her sister Jin are beautiful young women. However someone has discovered that they have gifts. Will Kian and the Guardians be able to help the sisters before it’s too late? Read On!

A great adventure is in the making!

I have never gone into a series by 32 books with more to read until the finish. Every story sticks to my heart and I want a happy ending for all the clan. Yamada and Mey have a huge adventure to come and I'm all in.

Brilliant Series

Dark Queens Quest (Children Of The Gods Book 32) by I T Lucas. Alena is in New York trying to flush Kalugal out. She meets Mey who is immediately attracted to Yamanu. Mey could be a dormant.

Exciting book

I love Yamanu and Mey’s story. I like how I.T. Lucas have the characters meet and become one’s truelove mate without dragging it out. Now, I’m curious who Jin’s truelove mate will be. I hope it’s Arwel.

Another amazing story !! This continuing saga is just one wonderful book after another!

Yamanu and Mey's story starts out with the clan trying to find colluvial Ariana's other son in New York and they meet May who is a model who is also looking for her missing sister. Yamanu , who has been celibate for centuries, which is still a mystery that has not unfolded yet, and Mey have an instant attraction to each other . They get to know each other as she & Areanna become good friends and then he starts to help try to find her sister, and they find out Mey could be in danger, has she is being followed and watched by someone. This was the start of their Saga and will continue in the next book but every single book is written extremely well in this series, and the combination of characters and storyline is absolutely wonderful!!! Take a chance on this series you will not be disappointed

Yamanu and Mey Story !

I loved the book and the entire series . I.T. Lucas is a gifted writer and story teller . Yamanu , an immortal over 700 years old, finally finds his true fated mate when on a mission to draw out the other son of the goddess Areana known as Kalagul. Mey is a model and former Israeli Mossad officer . Mey and her sister Jin have paranormal talents . They could be Dormants . Jin is missing and Mey is looking for her . Yamanu is helping her . The story begins . I can't wait for the next book. This is for adults only due to sexual content . Yamanu has taken a vow of celibacy but still can light Meys fire ! Enjoy !

Dark Queen’s Quest

So excited that it was Yamanu’s turn to meet his fated true love mate. Of course it can’t be that easy. This story was fun to read and went by way to quickly! It’s going to be very interesting to who really has Jin and how that’s going to play out. Wonder who her match will be Arwel?? Can’t wait for continuation of Yamanu and Mey’s story. How will his decision affect the clan? If he’s been given his mate then he must be able to induce her transition so what does that mean for his power in keeping the clan safe? So exciting!

This is a paranormal romance and is the thirty-second in the Children of the God series and is the first in the Dark Queen's trilogy. Yamanu the sweet and quite Guardian has run into a problem, a beautiful problem named Mey. He is celibate, has found is true mate, and isn't aware she is a potential dormant. Mey is an adopted girl with a unique past, her and her sister are caught up in something that brings heer to the attention of the clan. Nice twists, Ms. Lucas. This series isn't a page turner, it’s a book turner.
