I had been holding out hope forever that Annani's clan would find Kalugal...and now we're here.
I actually like Kalugal. We can see that, even though he was a Doomer--and even though he has plans to take over the world, he's nothing like Losham or Sharim... and especially nothing like Navuh. If it weren't for the whole take-over-the-world thing, Kalugal could be a good guy... just living his life... doing a little insider trading here and there...
The last book set forth the plan for Jin to use her ability and tether Kalugal. Kian and the clan need to know what he's up to...is he a foe... could he be an ally?
Unfortunately, the clan couldn't account for every possible eventuality and things don't quite go according to plan. (**GASP**)
And on top of all of this, there's a possible spy in their midst! (**DOUBLE GASP**)
(The book doesn't go in this direction, but I'm wondering...Kalugal is also interested in the gods of old and he's been doing some digging--literally--in the areas where the gods lived. Could he possibly stumble upon the place where Khiann is buried?)
This book brought back the danger and excitement that originally drew me to this series. I can't wait until February 22nd for the next book! I'm going to the author's website now to get a sneak peek!
This so far is my favorite book for Jin and Arwel. The ending...fantastic! I don't mind cliff hangers when I know the author isn't going to abandon the series and it won't be two years for the next book. And what a cliff hanger this one ends on!! So excited to see how this story line plays out and what the Fates have in store for Arwel, Jin, Jackie, Vlad, Kalugal and the rest of our unmated cast of characters. The thing I love about this series is that none of the characters that we have met in previous books have ever been forgotten. The author keeps us up date with their lives even if they don't hold a prominent spot in the current story line. I think the only ones who weren't mentioned in this book were Andrew and his mate and daughter, but I might be wrong. I can't wait to see what the next adventure holds. That ending....ugh....LOLOL
I want to scream!!! Oh my heck on a stick! The ending REALLY!! I was on the edge of my seat, reading so fast then boom the book is done! What a cliff hanger! I was in the middle of another series when Dark Spy’s Mission was released and boy am I glad I didn’t wait to read it. But now I have to wait for the next one. Ugh Seriously if you have not started this series you have got to read it! Arwel and Jin’s story had me laughing so hard. The mole was exactly who I thought it was but not for the reason. Excellent just excellent. The series just keeps getting better and better!
Kalugal is the most powerful Immortal besides his father but he may even outdo him. Annani's clan may have bitten off more than they can chew by spying on him.
But first, Jin got on my dang nerves. The inner monologue was exceedingly annoying. Half of it was irrational, the other was illogical. And it went in circles. It was like the author was having a brain freeze and just starting writing a whole bunch of nonsensical thinking just to fill the pages. It’s also like she forgot what she had already written earlier, sometimes in just the previous paragraph! Jim would make a commitment to one train of thought, then the next have a thought like she had never made a decision previously! It seemed to be done just to make an issue drag on for several chapters, but she forgot she had already resolved it.
Jacki seemed suspicious this entire book. A lot of stuff revolving her and Jin was just dumb, on Jin’s part.
Kian was right to suspect a mole in their midst, but you’d never guess who it was. Hopefully before they do something stupid, they can find their true love mate and see the error of their ways. They do seem to have a conscious although they are a little jaded.
Ingrid needs to sit her ho ass down somewhere. She knows what’s needed to get the Dormants to transition and if she’s not feeling the pull, she needs to step aside because time is of the essence for the Dormants to keep their sanity while living in the keep. This is different from Robert because he was already an immortal, plus the whole clan lived in the keep as well and Robert had a little bit more freedom from his deeds for Carol.
Also, we finally make contact with Kalugal. Hello cousin. 😏
Anyway, see my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!
Arwel & Jin make a great couple. They are fun together and have great chemistry. I don't know what is going on with Wendy. Vlad deserves a good girl and I hope Wendy doesn't break his heart. It is frustrating to know that Edna completely dismissed her as a threat. I hope Edna tunes in better next time. Richard seems like a playboy. I don't know if he is capable of changing his ways for a mate. He seems selfish and self absorbed. Jin is rushing to get to Kalugal and then fails miserably. Kian is rushing to get this done too and hasn't even thought about any consequences if things go wrong. Jacki is a tough girl and is straight forward. She is brave and puts herself in jeopardy trying to help Arwel. Things should get super interesting now that Kalugal is aware of other immortals, Jacki now knows about immortals, and Kian is in a hard place with these circumstances. Turner is on high alert and doing what he does best. I hope that Kian learns his lesson and starts to slow down when he jumps on missions. He is putting lives at risk with his impatience. Overall, this one had me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to get to the next one to see how this all turns out.
Dark Spy’s Mission (The Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance Series Book 36) - I.T. Lucas
Although this series has been labeled a paranormal romance, it is so much more. The ever expanding world, spin off storylines as well as the weaving of the general storyline throughout the series, keeps the books addicting, original, exciting and unpredictable. They just keep getting better and better, and yes there is still a lot of steamy romance as the immortals find their mates. Dark Spy’s Mission has so much intrigue and suspense as Jin is sent on her first mission to “tether” Kalugal, but as Kian (head of the clan) has learned no plans go without snags. With so many immortals, risk of discovery and danger there is so much more story to be revealed. Hopefully Book 37 will answer many of them.
I love this series! The world that I.T. Lucas draws you in is fabulous and keeps you there begging for more! The characters are unique, intriguing, even the ones you want to hate. It is a cliffhanger like most all because it is a continuing saga. I love how she integrates issues that concern as all like sex trafficking, and other global issues. I don’t want to say more to spoil it for any one who has read this one yet. I can’t wait for 2-22 because when this book ended I wanted to scream in frustration, and promptly ordered the next book! Ugggghhh....I can’t wait to see how this all pans out, but don’t know if I can bear if or when this entire series comes to an end. So much is left to determine and to experience! A must read series! Buckle up and hang on!
Dark Spy's Mission is the 36th book in I.T. Lucas' Children of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series. To say that this series of novels has somehow managed to get even better as time goes on, is truly amazing! Typically, authors exhaust plots, characters and themes, yet Ms. Lucas outdid herself with Mission. We meet Kalugal, Logan younger brother, and Jin's target. He's an interesting character, and leaves the Guardians with their hands more than full trying to corral him. Added to everyone's troubles, unknown to anyone it seems Wendy is not quite what she seems to be. No spoilers, but having been introduced to Vlad, she's decided to obtain more information from him. Bad Wendy. Things are heating up....
Dark Spy''s Mission is book 36 of I.T. Lucas' The Children of The Gods series. Wow, 36 books and counting and I still can't get enough. In this book we are introduced to some new characters which should make the future books even more interesting. Jin and Arwel get even closer as the days pass. Kulugal's character and that of some of his men become more developed. We start to see what kind of immortals they are and on who's side they may fall. It should get even more interesting as the new cousins become know to each other. I am so glad we only have to wait a month for book 37 to be released.
Dark Spy’s Mission KU 313 pgs *** 8/2/21 Arwel & Jin
3 stars. Story was a little boring until the very last few pages so I have hope the next book will be exciting and good. Arwel & Jin think they are mated but as usual, Jin is still human and isn’t sure what that is suppose to feel like. Vlad met Wendy and they became comfortable with each other but more as sort of friends. Wendy revealed her secret, in her head, not to anyone which kind of ticked me off but I think maybe it will turn around in the near future. The mission started in tethering Kalugal to Jin and of course it didn’t go as planned as it never does hence the excitement pending for the next book!
The series keep getting better. With big series it is usually getting boring to read the same plot all over again but it is not the case here. The characters are all interesting with very different personalities and abilities. The plot is moving on opening new doors and new venues keeping us interested and seeking for more. And yet, the fantasy is not too weird and we can easily relate to the story as it taps into a broad range of human emotions and situations we encounter everyday.
This has been the most interesting book in awhile...but still there was a lot of filler...did we really need to read the bar scene dialogue 3 times??? Seriously looking forward to the next book, but I gotta say a big part of me feels the same way as the person who left one star... There are little bits of wonderful in each book and "tri" story, mixed in with a whole lot of filler and inner turmoil! I still love the multiple character POV's
The Children Of The Gods series is my absolute FAVORITE series! Every book is just as awesome as the last, if not they keep getting better. Usually when reading a series this large, most books are repetitive and you can quickly burn out on reading them. NOT THIS SERIES.. they’re all worth reading. I might even go into a depressive state once it is over. I can’t explain enough how much I absolutely LOVE these books!
It's getting intense and really interesting. Now that Kal has Arwel and Jackie, I have a feeling Jackie will finally find her fated mate. I've read the 3 champters Lucas gave for a preview and I can't wait until feb. 22nd comes to see how their relationship develops and how Kian gets control of the situation. I just hope they do not give up Jin to get the other two back. It just doesn't seem like the right thing to do to make this story interesting. We'll see.
I love this book as well as the entire series . Read them in order for a better understanding of the background storyline . They are written in a trilogy format as well now . I can't wait for the next book . I'm addicted . The background and character building is great . You empathize with the characters . The twists and turns of this latest book is keeping me in edge . Enjoy the book ! Enjoy the Fantasy !
I chose the five star rating because I have not been able to let go of the series since the first book. You have to love the main protagonists. They are real people. Some are nicer than others some are not but they are real. The story keeps getting more exciting and twists keep it different. The main story line is very original and not a total rework of other authors.
This series just keeps getting more & more exciting!! You will not be disappointed picking the first one up. You will NOT be disappointed &will keep reading & reading! I keep thinking each book can’t get better but it does! I’m already on book 37 & the last few have been exciting & I can’t wait to see what happens next! This amazing world of Immortals is just that....AMAZING!!
The story gets better and better with every book. I can’t wait until the next one to come out. Love every single book. Best series out there. I recommend this series once you start you can’t stop. I T Lucas you’re one of the best authors out there by far. Keep writing this great series.
I'm in love with The Children of the God's series!!! I anxiously await for each and every new release!
In this book, we get an even more in-depth look at Kalugal, his minions, and his future plans. I can't wait to read how all the dilemmas in this story will get sorted out.
Wow! More fated mating, sexy immortals, and Kalugal hijacking an entire club. I couldn't put this book down. Two plain girls are going to kick ass and tame the powerful beast. Can't wait to see how Jin's hook up with Kalugal works out in the next book. Oh, and let's not forget about the little mole in the hole waiting to escape.
Loved this story and am a fan of Arwel. This story is full of suspense , it keeps you on the edge with the spy being the last suspected . Though know that there is an immortal with such strong compelling abilities U would have taught my guardians sign language and to text when an unexpected situation arouse.
The best series of books I have ever read. Keeps you waiting on the next one with great anticipation. I have preordered already and check every day to see if it has been released early. Can't wait to see how Kalugal's story turns out . Who will be his mate will he bond with his brother ? So much to look forward to..
I really like these series but this last couple Books start really slow and there is a lot of nonsense I feel that just doesn’t add anything to the overall storyline. This book picked up towards the end and left you Wilma cliffhanger.. can’t wait for the next episode
This is a paranormal romance and is thirty-sixth in the Children of the God series and second in the Dark Spy trilogy. Jin and Arwel's relationship is cruising along nicely. Her friends and sister are at the Keep, to be kept away from the Village. The hunt is on for Kalugal and the cliff-hanger is an absolute killer. Absolutely loving the new story arcs, well done Ms. Lucas.
This is one of the better books in this series. It was funny had a lot of suspense, good action scenes and seeing the power of a possible enemy was brilliant.
I have high hopes for Arwel and Jin as well as Vlad and Wendy. I would like the timeframes to move a bit quicker as I feel the series is starting to drag slightly but it's still so enjoyable.
This was a good addition to the series. So many interesting things come about. I am really enjoying Kian and how he has been embracing his limitations. I am sorry to say but Jin, I am over her but hopefully she can redeem herself in the next book. Jacki is awesome. Read On!
I have read this series before but only got about 40 books in I could not remember how far so I started at the beginning but this book and the next is what I have been waiting for and remember the most in this series.very spy and intense. But cliff hanger and a big one too
