A closet sociopath, a serial rapist, a pedophile, a killer prostitute, a genius assassin, a wicked middle school girl and a woman with multiple personalities are all locked in an abandoned building with no food, no entertainment and a timer set for seven days. The only thing they find in the building is a cleaver and a cooking pot. Seven deadly individuals locked in a confined space, the only food they have is each other's flesh. Such begins a psychological death game that ends in blood and depravity.
I'm shocked this manga has such a low rating. There definitely was some stuff that was edgy to the point of being silly, but I thought the way it explores such depraved characters with grotesque histories was fascinating and entertaining. Unlike most death game series, there's no one to root for here and that made it feel fresh and exciting in my opinion. You can root for someone one chapter and discover they did something utterly terrible the next.
Seeing such broken and disturbed people locked together leads to some shocking situations that had me on edge all the way through. Some of them have depressing backstories that make you empathize with them to a certain capacity, but they're all so twisted, selfish and monstrous that it's difficult to ever truly warm up to them. Watching people like this pushed to the limit and turning against each other is equal parts satisfying and terrifying.
There's some questionable content that feels out of place and plot twists that are so tryhard they feel more goofy than shocking, but overall I think it's a thrilling and highly entertaining horror story that doesn't shy away from showing you the absolute worst members of society.
